Paul Bettany tells "lazy" teens to "stop watching 'WandaVision' for 5 mins…and shovel some snow"

No Comments Entertainment News

Disney+/Marvel Studios(LOS ANGELES) — You know the snow that’s blanketing the East Coast right now is a major deal when an actor actually tells people to stop watching their brand-new show and go out and shovel.

Paul Bettany, star of WandaVisiontweeted earlier today, “Dear teens across the U.S. – it’s a big snowstorm. I just shoveled my sidewalk, then walked the dog & saw other ancients shoveling their sidewalks.”

“Teens stop watching #WandaVision for 5 mins & shovel some snow u lazy puppies,” he added. “If you’ve already shoveled, ignore my rude message.”

Bettany then followed up his message two hours later with, “Okay Teens across America, that’s enough shovelling snow! Get back inside and watch #WandaVision I haven’t got all day!”

Perhaps fans of the Disney+ show wanted to wait to start shoveling because they were preoccupied by the new mid-season preview of the series, which just dropped today.

'Westworld' star Evan Rachel Wood has accused Marilyn Manson of abuse

No Comments Entertainment News

Eric Charbonneau/WireImage for Disney Pictures(LOS ANGELES) — Westworld Emmy nominee Evan Rachel Wood has accused Marilyn Manson of abuse.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” the actress wrote in an Instagram post Monday morning.

Wood has previously shared her experience with sexual abuse and domestic violence in front of government bodies, including in 2018 with the House Judiciary Committee and in 2019 with the California Senate.

In the 2018 testimony, Wood described being the survivor of “toxic mental, physical and sexual abuse” that included “threats against my life, severe gaslighting and brainwashing,” as well as “sick rituals” and, “waking up to the man that claimed to love me raping what he believed to be my unconscious body.” In 2019, she described being in a relationship with a man at age 18, who abused her, “through means of starvation, sleep deprivation and threats against my life.”

Wood did not name her abuser in either testimony, but many had speculated she was speaking about Manson due to the time frame she referenced, which appeared to overlap with her relationship with the musician. Her Instagram post Monday marks the first time she’s used Manson’s name publicly in regard to the allegations.

“[Manson] started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years,” Wood wrote. “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.”

“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail,” she continued. “I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

As Vanity Fair reports, four more women have also come forward with allegations of abuse against Manson following Wood’s post. Manson’s reps have not yet responded to Vanity Fair‘s request for comment.

Wood’s allegations came up again in the news last fall when Manson hung up on an interview with the U.K. magazine Metal Hammer after the interviewer mentioned Wood’s name.

“Personal testimony is just that, and we think it’s inappropriate to comment on that,” a rep told Metal Hammer in a statement following the interview.

In 2018, Manson was accused of sex abuse dating back to 2011, though the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office declined to charge him, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Manson’s lawyer said in a statement at the time that the musician “categorically denied” those allegations.

Dustin Diamond, "Screech" from 'Saved by the Bell', dead of cancer at 44

No Comments Entertainment News

Danny Martindale/Getty Images(FLORIDA) — Dustin Diamond, most famous for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers in multiple Saved By The Bell series, has died of carcinoma, a rep confirmed to ABC News. The actor, who was being treated in Florida, was 44.

“He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago,” the spokesperson said, noting that during those three weeks, the cancer “managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy…was…Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

Diamond played the part of the Bayside High School alum for thirteen years, including in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and Saved By the Bell: The College Years.

However, Diamond didn’t join former Saved by the Bell cast mates Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen and Lark Voorhies for the show’s latest revival on Peacock. In a recent episode, Lopez’s A.C. Slater said that Screech was currently in orbit, working on the International Space Station with his robot sidekick, Kevin.

In 2014, Diamond was sentenced to four months in prison for allegedly stabbing a fellow patron in a scuffle at a Wisconsin bar on Christmas Day; he was released a month early.

He later told Lopez, his SBTB co-star-turned Extra TV host, that jail is “not like what you see on TV, I’ll tell you that.” He added, “It’s pretty daunting, pretty scary going into that environment.”

In addition to Saved By The Bell, Diamond made appearances in a series of reality shows including Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Big Brother.  On the big screen, he appeared in Jon Favreau’s 2001 film Made, as well as Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.

#WeLoveCaraDune trends worldwide as 'Mandalorian' fans support star Gina Carano

No Comments Entertainment News

Disney+(NEW YORK) — Former MMA fighter-turned actress Gina Carano found herself the center of a viral support campaign over the weekend by defenders of her and her Mandalorian character, Cara Dune.

Carano had been the target of relentless attacks from some on social media that started when people accused her of being transphobic — something she’s roundly denied — when she made an R2-D2 joke on her Twitter profile, putting “beep/bop/boop” where some choose to highlight their preferred pronouns.

A “cancel” campaign of #FireGinaCarano soon followed, with some users even baiting her to “say ACAB” — the acronym meaning “All Cops Are Bast****”, which had been seen throughout the summer of anti-police protests — then accusing her of being a racist when she refused. The hashtag #FireGinaCarano went viral after that.

In a conversation with the fandom YouTube channel Drunk 3PO, Carano said of standing her ground, “…I’ve seen people get bullied off of Twitter on both sides. I don’t like bullying…but if I don’t stay present then other people win, other people win in bullying people off of platforms and there needs to be a more balanced platform.”

However, a Twitter user named RoarAshley called on Carano’s fans to make their voices heard on Saturday. “Star Wars is not about attacking others,” the 29-year-old posted. “It’s a universe that has a place for all of us. …As I always say love & kindness ignites the future, it totally silences hate.”

He suggested that fans send their support on Saturday, with the hashtag #WeLoveCaraDune — and fans came out in droves, posting artwork, and words of support in such numbers that the hashtag made it to #4 trending in the U.S., and #23 globally.
