Jordan Davis might be sporting a shocking new look in his upcoming “Almost Maybes” video

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAJordan Davis is set to drop his “Almost Maybes” music video on Friday, and the singer just might unveil a dramatic change to his appearance in the clip.

Ever since rising to fame with his 2017 radio debut, “Singles You Up,” Jordan’s signature feature has been his long, thick beard. In interviews, he’s hinted a time or two that he might be open to shaving the beard, but he’s never pulled the trigger: At least, until now.

Ahead of his “Almost Maybe” music video release at the end of his week, the singer shared a couple of pictures that seem to suggest he’s made a change. While Jordan has his hand over his face in both shots, obscuring the full look, it’s clear that he’s shaved the beard and is instead rocking a light scruff.

“#AlmostMaybes video coming soon…might be showing off a new look,” Jordan wrote alongside the pictures. “Les Geaux.”

Though Jordan’s been rocking the beard for as long as most of his fans have known him, he has previously given them an idea of what he looks like clean-shaven. The music video for his song “Detours,” which came out back in April 2020, includes a montage of pictures from over the course of his relationship with his now-wife, Kristen. Some of those are snapshots of Jordan from his pre-beard days.

The change is pretty dramatic, and Jordan told People at the time that even some members of his own management team didn’t recognize him clean-shaven.

“I sent over the pictures of me with no beard and some people were like, ‘Who is this guy?’” he remembered.

Luke Combs makes the 2021 'TIME100 Next' list, with a tribute penned by Garth Brooks

No Comments Country Music News

ABCLuke Combs is representing country music on the 2021 TIME100 Next list, a roundup of 100 stars who are poised to become the next group of most influential people in the world.

In a short essay paying tribute to the “Does to Me” hitmaker, Garth Brooks praised Luke’s work ethic and humble, grassroots approach to his success.

“In this age of self-promotion, Luke Combs is letting everybody else do the talking for him,” Garth writes. “If I could pull him over and tell him one thing, it would be to just keep doing what he’s doing. Just follow that music. What resonates with him will resonate with the audience, with me, with everybody who’s listening.”

It’s undeniable that Luke has accomplished extraordinary feats in country music over the past couple of years. Last month, he reached the top of the country charts with “Better Together,” marking his 10th consecutive number-one hit, the first time an artist has done that on the country chart.

Luke’s 2019 sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, also recently achieved double Platinum RIAA certification.

Cole Swindell comes clean about the pros and cons of a "Single Saturday Night"

No Comments Country Music News

Robby KleinIn his latest hit, Cole Swindell may be longing for his last “Single Saturday Night,” but truthfully, the bachelor admits flying solo can be fun.

“I can tell you, I’ve had a lot of experience on single Saturday nights,” he smiles. “They’re not all bad, no.”

“Do I really want ’em to end?” Cole ponders. “I’m kind of on the fence on that one. You know, before corona[virus], no. Now the virus is [here], I might need to settle down. I don’t know.”

Cole’s female admirers needn’t worry, though. Upon further consideration, he shows his romantic side and admits he’s looking forward to finding a longtime love.

“Hopefully someday,” he reflects. “I mean, that’s the thing about this song, that, you know, even though I hadn’t had my last single Saturday night, but like a lot of other people out there, hopefully it’s someday soon.”

“Single Saturday Night” is the follow-up to Cole’s chart-topping “Love You Too Late,” and is likely the first taste of his upcoming fourth album, the follow-up to 2018’s All of It.

ABCRussell Dickerson‘s son is only five months old, but he’s already a fan of his dad’s music.

Russell and his wife Kailey welcomed son Remington in September, and so far the singer says it’s been smooth sailing — except for the sleepless nights. However, he’s found a personal remedy that helps the newborn fall sound asleep, that being the music off his latest album, Southern Symphony.

“Whenever he’s getting super fussy in the car, I’ll put on the title track of my album Southern Symphony and it is immediate. As soon as it starts, we turn it up and he just stops crying. It’s the craziest thing,” Russell tells People“He’s already a fan, which is good. I’ve got my son’s approval. It was kind of up in the air for a second, but definitely got a #1 fan here.”

Southern Symphony features the chart-topping lead single, “Love You Like I Used To,” along with the current single, “Home Sweet.”
