Kristen Bell on husband Dax Shepard's relapse: "I will continue to stand by him"

• No Comments • Entertainment News

George Pimentel/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Kristen Bell is speaking out in support of her husband Dax Shepard following his relapse after 16 years of sobriety.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Wednesday, the 40-year-old actress and mother of two revealing her actor husband is now “doing great.”

“I mean look, everybody’s up against their own demons. Sometimes it’s anxiety and depression, sometimes it’s substance abuse,” Bell shared.

“The thing I love most about Dax is A) that he was able to tell me and tell us and say we need a different plan. Right?” she continued. “Like, we have a plan. If he has to take medication, for any reason, I have to administer it. But he was like, ‘So, we need a stronger plan. I was faltering and I have to do some sort of emotional work to figure out why I wanted to use again.'”

Bell said that she also loves that Shepard is “addicted to growth” and “addicted to evolving.”

“He was like, ‘I don’t want to risk this family and I did, so let’s put new things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.’ We’re going back to therapy,” she shared. “I will continue to stand by him because he’s very, very worth it.”

Bell’s comments came after Shepard spoke last month at length about his relapse on his podcast, Armchair Expert.  He said his issues with prescription pain medicine started back up again due to problems with his hand and shoulder that began earlier this year.  He also revealed that he was seven days sober.

“I went to a comedy club and I was doing stand-up and I’m like, ‘I’m gay. Listen, 9/11 happened, I’m gay. I’m telling you all, I’m gay. In case the buildings blow up again, I’m so, so gay,’ you know,” O’Donnell furthered.

The episode, which also featured Michelle Rodriguez alongside host Gloria Estefan and her family, tackled hot button issues like sexuality and LGBT rights.

The full episode will be made available starting at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

"Got What I Got": Jason Aldean's keeping it "authentic" as he starts album number ten

• No Comments • Country Music News

ABC/Eric GebhartThis week, Jason Aldean‘s been in the studio working on his tenth album, as his latest hit, “Got What I Got,” continues on track to be his twenty-fourth number one.

For the ACM Artist of the Decade, it’s important his recordings line up with who he is.

“The one thing I’ve always tried to pay attention to is just what the songs are saying,” Jason explains. “And I feel like that’s what makes it work, is if it’s something that I can relate to or something that’s authentic.”

“If I don’t do those kind of songs that are kind of true to me and who I am,” he continues, “I just feel like people can see through that… It’s just not believable to me.”

For Jason, that often means ignoring trends.

“If you’ve got an artist that has a certain sound,” he reflects, “and it’s working and doing well and it’s the new craze, everybody kind of tries to follow that and do their own version of whatever that is.”

“And that’s just one thing that [I can’t do]…” he adds. “I’ve just always been comfortable in what we do and the kind of music that I make. It’s country and rock and, you know, a little blues and some R-and-B.”

But that doesn’t mean Jason doesn’t have some new tricks up his sleeve.

“You can always sort of tweak on it a little bit and try to make what you do a little better and change it up a little bit…” he says. “But I always thought the core sound of what we do… it’s kind of what got us here… because it was believable and authentic to me and where I’m from. And I think that’s why it’s always connected with people.”

'The Bachelorette' recap: Clare Crawley finds her husband, but it may not end well

• No Comments • Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — After all the starts and stops, season 16 of ABC’s The Bachelorette, which kicked off on Tuesday, will go down as the craziest in franchise history, but if host Chris Harrison’s hunch is correct, “It doesn’t end well.”

The new season almost never got off the ground, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which, like many other shows, saw production come to a halt in March. So how did reality dating show ensure that Clare Crawley found her soulmate in spite of the pandemic?

Harrison says much careful planning went into taping the show in accordance with California’s strict COVID-19 protocols.  The franchise, known for sending contestants to exotic locations, limited filming to just one location this time: La Quinta, California.

Prior to shooting the series, all the contestants, including Clare, were required to spend time in isolation, and tested regularly for the virus.  The entire season was shot in a bubble, so that Crawley and the men could kiss and hug, just as they would in a regular season.

Finally, it was time for Clare to meet her suitors, each of whom pulled out all the stops, using clever opening lines and even elaborate props, to make a memorable first impression on her.

She was impressed by them all, but Dale, the 31-year-old former pro football player from San Diego, became the early frontrunner.  Dale literally had Clare, 39, from “Hello,” making her gush into the camera “I think I may have just met my husband.”  Their conversation at the cocktail hour later on seemed to seal the deal, and he walked off with the first impression rose.

Another potential suitor, Blake Moynes, a 29-year-old wildlife manager from Ontario, Canada, made an impression on Clare, even before the two met face-to-face.

Upon hearing that Crawley’s mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia was injured in a fall, Moynes — in a blatant violation of the rules — contacted Crawley to send his best wishes.  While acknowledging that it was wrong, Clare was genuinely touched by Blake’s willingness to risk getting tossed from the show in order to check up on her.

As Clare, who put Juan Pablo in his place on the memorable, 18th season finale of The Bachelor, tells Harrison, “I’m a woman who knows what I want and I follow my gut.”  That became evident than when Tyler C., a 27-year-old lawyer, had some “dirt” on 30-year-old medical device salesman Yosef, whom Tyler claimed had sent a flirtatious video message to a woman while quarantining.

Clare sat both men down and listened patiently to both men’s stories, before declaring, “There’s still a lot of men that I haven’t talked with…I’m gonna continue chatting.”

Later, at the rose ceremony, Clare delivered swift justice, sending Tyler C. packing, along with eight other guys.

Here are the remaining men:

Ben, 29, an Army Ranger veteran from Venice, Calif.
Bennett, 36, a wealth management consultant from New York City, N.Y.
Blake Monar, 31, a male grooming specialist from Phoenix, Ariz.
