Kip Moore added four new songs to 'Wild World Deluxe,' but he’s got even more unreleased music up his sleeve

No Comments Country Music News

Jason Kempin/Getty ImagesWhen he released the deluxe edition of his Wild World album last month, Kip Moore bumped up the project’s track list from 13 to 17 songs.

Wild World Deluxe features new additions “Man’s Gotta Do,” “Midnight Slow Dance,” “How High” and “Don’t Go Changing,” the latter of which Kip packaged with a corresponding music video and fundraising campaign to support independent music venues struggling with the impacts of the pandemic.

“The fans stepped up huge on ‘Don’t Go Changing,’ and right from the start, they were just really emotional about that track,” the singer says in retrospect during a new interview with American Songwriter.

“Any time I can shed light on a good cause, I’m gonna do it,” he adds.

But while he may have added to Wild World’s batch of songs, Kip says there’s still plenty of new music that has yet to see the light of day.

Wild World Deluxe includes four new songs, but the truth is that we had ten other ones on the table,” the singer explains. “I sincerely hope to get a chance to release the other ones someday, but it often just comes down to the flavor of an album.”

While Kip hasn’t shared exactly what his next move is, he’s definitely got big plans in the works. This week, he took to social media, writing, “I know I’ve been quiet on here but…I’ve been up to somethin. New things comin’.”

Turkey, stuffing, superheroes? Industry pushing back at possible Thanksgiving San Diego Comic-Con

No Comments Entertainment News

ROBYN BECK/AFP via Getty Images(SAN DIEGO) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) With their large gatherings, sweaty cosplayers, and artists glad-handing with autograph seeking strangers, comic conventions are something of a Greatest Hits of New Normal no-nos.

However, Comic-Con International, the organization behind the massive San Diego Comic-Con, is defending its recent announcement of an in-person event billed Comic-Con Special Edition.

The event at the expo’s traditional home at the San Diego Convention Center would kick off November 26 — the day after Thanksgiving.

“[W]e understand this choice is not optimal for everyone,” the organization says on its website.

There hasn’t been a major in-person Comic Con since the pandemic lockdowns last year, and July’s Comic-Con San Diego will still be virtual. But producers are getting push-back from those who would be its guests.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with several anonymous industry insiders who shared their disapproval. One said, “During the pandemic, we’ve had Wonder Woman and The Mandalorian, but what we haven’t had is a hug from our parents and grandparents. Talent are not going to want to give up time with their families at Thanksgiving this year of all years.”

Organizers are now defending the decision, saying, “Comic-Con Special Edition was never intended to be the large gathering reflective of the summer event,” and it’s “our attempt to start slowly and cautiously while…addressing [fans’] desire…to have an in-person show.”

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, a fixture of conventions all over the world, recently told ABC Audio he’s got no plans to “hit the floor” again any time soon.

“Who’s going to that?” he asked rhetorically of whatever convention becomes the first to re-open. “People vaccinated and people who don’t give a s***.”

He adds, “A convention is…like a packed airport.”

FGL’s Brian Kelley forms Nashville South Records as a home for his solo music: “This is just the beginning”

No Comments Country Music News

Ben ChristensenBrian Kelley, one half of superstar duo Florida Georgia Line, is carving out his own lane for his upcoming solo musical endeavors.

In partnership with Warner Music Nashville, the singer has formed a new label, Nashville South Records. Billboard reports that the label will be a home to Brian’s solo music, including a full album that he expects to release later this year.

“This is just the beginning of a whole new adventure,” says Brian. “My vision for what’s next is a vibe and state of mind — get ready to ride the wave with ya Beach Cowboy, y’all!”

Though Brian’s soon-to-come work as a solo artist might have a brand-new flavor, it doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from his work with his band mate Tyler Hubbard. Under the FGL moniker, they dropped their fifth studio album, Life Rolls On, last month.

But the duo has also let fans know that they plan to pursue some musical avenues separately this year, outside of the band. Tyler has been collaborating with some other artists, including Tim McGraw and, most recently, breakout TikTok star Lathan Warlick.

Earlier this week, Brian posted a social media teaser for his upcoming solo material, once again highlighting his new, beach-tinged brand of country music.

Luke Bryan documents injury after fishing hook gets lodged in his hand

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Brian Bowen SmithLuke Bryan hooked a little more than he was bargaining for on a recent fishing trip.

On Tuesday, the country star revealed that he accidentally hooked his own thumb with a fishing hook. In a graphic clip shared to Instagram, which he captioned, “Dammit,” he shows off the injury and viewers can see the shark hook poking through his thumb, as well as a blood stain on his hand.

“Well, this is gonna leave a mark,” Luke can be heard saying in the background. “Pretty sure that’s in my bone.”

The “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” singer wasn’t down for the count for long though. He shared an update to his Instagram Stories of himself in a vehicle with his guitar tech, Russ — presumably on the way to seek medical attention.

“My guitar tech, I invited Russ on a fishing trip and leave it to me, I ruined the fishing trip,” he shared. “But we’ll be back on the water in about 25 minutes.”

The next slide showed Luke laying down in a building holding a woman’s hand as he joked that he was probably “violating HIPPA somehow.” Then, two hours after that, he posted a video of him back on the water.

“Got the hook out,” he said while giving a thumbs up. “We’re back.”

Millie Bobby Brown discusses her "fearless" side and why she's "not afraid to speak up"

No Comments Entertainment News

Warner Bros. Pictures/Vince Valitutti(NEW YORK) — Millie Bobby Brown has a pretty “fearless” attitude when it comes monsters. She’s fought off demogorgons in Stranger Things and even faced Godzilla in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and her latest film Godzilla vs. Kong.

Yet, even with her monstrous track record, Brown reveals to ABC Audio that she’s not as courageous as you may think.

“I’m terrified of thunder and lightning,” she says, recalling a recent storm that had her “shaking.”

“My house shook and I was like, ‘Mom, dad —  like come here right now,'” Brown shares. “So, I’m very much normal in that respect. I don’t like sleeping in the dark. I don’t like loud noises — especially on set. I’ve recently been just terrified of anything that’s like, ‘Ba boom!'”

While unexpected sounds may throw her off, Brown says there are some things that she’s prepared to tackle head-on.

“I’m not afraid to speak up against the things I believe in,” she says. “I’ve been motivated to do that my whole life.”

“My parents have always encouraged me to really have no filter, which gets me in a bit of trouble sometimes,” she laughs. “But I’ve definitely grown up.”

Along with her progressive parents, Brown adds that her grandmother has also been an advocate for her to say what’s on her mind.

“So that’s kind of the position that I’m in now… feeling the things that I believe in and saying them to the people that follow me… and the people that watch my work,” she explains.

Still, Brown acknowledges that being brave isn’t always easy, saying she also “admires people that have been afraid to speak up.”

“Because that’s a learning experience,” she says. “That’s something that I love learning about. I’m afraid of a lot of things like any other teenage girl, [because] I’m still finding myself.”

Godzilla vs Kong is now in theaters and on HBO Max.
