Jamie Chung says 'Big Hero 6 The Series' shows kids "you don't need powers to be a superhero"

No Comments Entertainment News

Disney XD(NEW YORK) — Big Hero 6 The Series is back on Disney XD.

Season three of the Emmy-nominated animated series continues the adventures of 14-year-old Hiro, his lovable robot Baymax and their tech-savvy friends Wasabi, Go Go, Honey Lemon and Fred as they protect their city from new villains.

Jamie Chung, who’s been voicing thrill-seeking mechanical engineer Go Go Tomago since the 2017 film, tells ABC Audio she’s loved seeing the journey of her character throughout the series.

“She has her walls up and she’s a woman of very few words, and usually it’s the word ‘nope,’” Chung says. “So it’s fun to see her warm up and open up and…you really get to see into her very private life.”

While the series has elements of superhero action, it also shows kids the power of science and tech.

“I feel the great messaging about this show and the previous movie is that you don’t need to have supernatural powers to be a superhero,” Chung says. “You know, you just have to really focus and study and put your brain to anything and you can accomplish anything, which is the beauty of this show where the superheroes use science to save the world.”

Big Hero 6 The Series airs Mondays on Disney XD. Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

ABC/Image Group LA(LOS ANGELES) — 13 Reasons Why star Anne Winters is going hard in her campaign to play Madonna in the singer’s upcoming biopic.

The actress posted a series of photos over the weekend modeling some of Madonna’s iconic looks, and the resemblance is uncanny.

“BLOW UP @madonna Instagram guys — I wana play her in her new biopic,” Winters wrote to her followers. “I’ve been told I look like young Madonna forever, I act I sing I look like her…. cmon now.”

She went on to explain why she’s campaigning for the role via social media.

The photos received a lot of attention online and Winters later told fans Madonna reached out.

“never thought I’d be reached out to by [Queen] M herself through hype on social media,” she wrote. “Anything is possible when you go for what you want, AND HAVE the muhf****** talent to back it up of course 😉 Keep up the hype and love!!!”

Madonna is directing and co-writing a film about her life, but casting has yet to be announced. It’s been rumored that Emmy-winning Ozark actress Julia Garner is in consideration for the role.

Frankie Muniz and wife Paige Price announce they have a "little miracle" on the way

No Comments Entertainment News

Jerritt Clark/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Congratulations are in order for Frankie Muniz and wife Paige Price, who announced that they are expecting their first child.

The couple made the sweet announcement on their joint YouTube page on Saturday, writing in the caption, “We were shocked and thrilled to hear the news that we’re going to be parents.”

The two were exploring Yellowstone National Park when they opted to record their special video announcement, which shows the two grinning ear to ear as they dance around happily and celebrate the arrival of their “real life miracle.”

“The second I heard that heartbeat, reality set in. I was throwing out baby names and future career choices,” narrates Muniz, panning to a clip of him happily cradling his wife’s stomach.

As it turns out, the two didn’t even know that they’d ever welcome a child together, as Price revealed that she was told she might never get pregnant.

“We knew that we wanted this but we were told that our chances weren’t that great,” the actress admitted, furthering that “the struggle of going to every doctor’s appointment made me feel less and less of a woman.”

But, as she happily gushed, they “beat the odds” and are now “15 weeks along and counting!”

The baby is due next March.

Muniz, 34, and Price, 28, announced their engagement in November 2018 and tied the knot in February of this year.

Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Sophie Turner kept her pregnancy mostly under wraps, but now she’s sharing never-before-seen photos from that special time.

On Instagram over the weekend, the 24-year-old Game of Thrones actress posted three throwback photos of her baby bump. In one, a pregnant Sophie sits poolside in a bikini. In another, she’s standing in the pool with her dog, and in a third, we just see a shot of her bump and husband Joe Jonas’ hand reaching out to touch it.

Back in July, the two confirmed the birth of their child in a statement to ABC News via their reps.

“Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby,” the statement read.

The baby is reportedly a girl named Willa, though the couple have yet to reveal any more details about their bundle of joy.

Report: Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix name their newborn son River

No Comments Entertainment News

Tullio M. Puglia/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have reportedly welcomed a baby boy and they could not have chosen a more perfect name.

Gunda director Victor Kossakovsky spilled the beans at the 2020 Zurich Film Festival, where he spoke to reporters following the screening of his new movie.  Phoenix served as executive producer of the black and white film, which wordlessly follows a piglet growing up on a farm.

“He just [had a] baby,” Kossakovsky announced when noting the actor’s absence, softly adding that his “beautiful son” was named River.

River shares the name of his late-uncle, River Phoenix, who tragically died in 1993 following an accidental drug overdose.  The Stand By Me actor was 23.

Joaquin, who was extremely close with his older sibling, was 19 when his brother passed.

The Joker actor is now ensuring his brother’s name lives on by passing it onto his newborn son.  Phoenix, 45, and Mara, 35, first sparked pregnancy rumors back in May after paparazzi snapped photos of what appeared to be a baby bump, but the two never confirmed the reports.

The notoriously private couple, who started dating in 2016, became engaged last year.  They have yet to respond to reports that they welcomed a child.

The video of Kossakovsky’s announcement was posted to Instagram on Sunday by blogger Daphne Chaimovitz, who was in attendance of the Q&A session.
