James Van Der Beek captures his kids' hilarious reaction to watching his cameo in Kesha's "Blow"

No Comments Entertainment News

Cindy Ord/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Nearly a decade ago, Kesha dropped the colorful and chaotic music video for “Blow,” which featured James Van Der Beek.

The Dawson’s Creek alum on Thursday introduced his two eldest children to the music video, not telling them that he has a rainbow shootout with the “Praying” singer while surrounded by people wearing unicorn heads.

The music video ends with him losing the battle and Kesha mounting his head on a wall.

Of course, Van Der Beek captured Olivia, 10, and eight-year-old Joshua’s wide eyed disbelief and confusion as they watched the wacky four minute music video.

The moment the actor struts on screen, Olivia dramatically rolls her eyes and cringes as she shouts, “Oh my gawwd!”

End of era. Finally found some of my old work that mortifies my daughter,” Van Der Beek cackled triumphantly in the caption, before revealing why he decided to star in the wild music video.

“About ten years ago, coming off a career ebb, I tried out a year of saying ‘yes’ to anything if I hadn’t done it before, and if it sounded like fun,” the Dancing with the Stars alum explained. “It was an antidote to the preciousness that often rides side saddle with success (and almost always steers it off the road).”

“Make fun of the crying meme? Yes! Play a bizarro version of myself on TV? Sign me up,” he continued. “Agree to do a Kesha video where I shoot unicorns who bleed rainbows? Why the hell not?”

While the music video was “shot great – and quite well-received at the time,” his children critically panned the performance.

“I guess you can’t always predict what your kids are going to think ten years down the road. Nor should you even try,” the Teen Choice Award winner snickered.

'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' is giving back to frontline workers

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/John Fleenor(LOS ANGELES) — Who Wants to be a Millionaire is giving back to frontline workers.

The new season of ABC’s long-running game show is not only welcoming essential workers, they are ensuring that they’ll be winners no matter what by giving them a guaranteed $32,000 prize to take home — a gesture that personally resonates with host Jimmy Kimmel.

“I think it’s important to remember, and this is something I learned when I was in the hospital with my son, is that these people are doing this all the time, not just now,” he explained in a short featurette video to Access Hollywood. “And that they work so hard when we need them the most.”

The announcement also moved contestant and firefighter Oliver Fry to tears.

“That’s more than some people make in a year,” he said in the clip. “I could help out people.”

Even with the guaranteed winnings, Kimmel is hoping that he’s be able to hand out the much heftier, life-changing prize of $1 million to someone in the hot seat.

“I have yet to see that happen, it rarely happens, when it does I don’t even know what it must feel like. But I do want to hand that giant check to somebody – preferably a nurse or somebody who’s been driving an ambulance or somebody who really could use it,” he said.

This season of Who Wants to be a Millionaire also features celebrities who will donate winnings to a charity of their choice.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire airs Sundays at 9/8c on ABC.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds celebrate his first time voting in a US election

Steven Ferdman/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, are celebrating an important milestone in the Deadpool actor’s life: his first time voting in a U.S. election.

In a hilarious Instagram post Thursday, the Canadian-born actor, who reportedly became a citizen more than two years ago, jokingly thanked Lively for “making my first time so gentle and loving.”

“It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud. #VoteEarly,” Reynolds wrote.

Added Lively in her own post: “It was Ryan’s first time. He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast. He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend. #voteearly.”

Reynolds, who turns 44 today, told The New York Times in 2018 that he holds dual passports, and considers his Canadian upbringing an advantage in Hollywood. “I’ve never felt like I’m in it, like this is my game,” he explained.

Still, he appreciates the privileges that come with being a U.S. citizen. “I feel the compulsion to vote… especially now,” he said.

But the couple’s ballots weren’t the only thing fans noticed about their Instagram posts. In her post, Lively drew a pair of strappy sandal heels on her bare feet. But in the photo Reynolds shared, the 33-year-old actress is barefoot and standing tip-toe.

“@louboutinworld are you hiring? Barefoot iPhone doodler with vast experience avail.,” Blake wrote on her Instagram story, pointing out her shoe art.

“Can you tell I was so happy to get outta a onesie and vote. Sure it was an absentee drop off ballot with a mask covering my look. But dammit I exercised my right to vote,” she continued. “And to not wear shoes that ruined my outfit.”

Chelsea Handler offers to pay 50 Cent's taxes if he retracts support for Trump

No Comments Entertainment News

Toni Anne Barson/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Chelsea Handler just made her ex 50 Cent a pretty generous offer.

On Monday, the 45-year-old rapper publicly backed President Donald Trump after seeing that American’s earning over $400,000 a year could potentially have to pay 62% in taxes under Joe Biden’s proposed tax plan.

“WHAT THE… (VOTE ForTRUMP),” he tweeted. “IM OUT… I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya… mind.”

In response, Handler threw a bit of shade, commenting, “You used to be my favorite ex-boyfriend.”

The Power star replied with a plea for Handler not to let politics get between them but, instead of agreeing to disagree on the topic, the comedian proposed another option — to take of the tax bill for him.

“Hey… I will pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses,” she wrote. “Happily! Black lives matter. That’s you… Remember?”

50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, dated Handler briefly in 2010 after he appeared on her talk show Chelsea Lately.

The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ artist received a ton of backlash over his original tweet with fans who accusing him of choosing personal gain over the greater well-being of the country. However, he also received support from the likes of well-known Trump supporters and political commentators Tomi Lahren and Candace Owens.

Nonetheless, his current stance is ironic considering that he previously told James Corden he turned down $500,000 to perform at Trump’s 2017 inauguration, saying, “Not all money is good money.”
