Trisha Yearwood will perform as part of the show’s In Memoriam segment, delivering “I’ll Carry You Home” off her 2019 Every Girl album, in tribute to those in country music we lost this year.
Also joining the lineup as presenters are Darius Rucker, Lauren Alaina, Runaway June, Clint Black with his wife Lisa Hartman Black, and radio DJ Bobby Bones.
The 2020 ACMs were originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas back in April but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show was pushed to its current September date. For the first time, the ACMs will take place in Nashville, broadcasting from three iconic Music City venues: The Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Cafe and the Ryman Auditorium.
The 2020 ACMs will air live on CBS on September 16 at 8PM ET.
Rich Fury/Getty Images(LAS VEGAS) — Wedding bells are ringing for Lily Allen and Stranger Things star David Harbour, who reportedly tied the knot in an intimate and secret Las Vegas wedding on Labor Day.
While the celebrity couple has yet to publicly confirm their nuptials, E! News obtained public records pertaining to the September 7 ceremony that confirms that they are now husband and wife.
Rumors ignited on Tuesday that Allen, 35, and Harbour, 45, were gearing up for a trip down the aisle after reports surfaced of the two obtaining a marriage license on September 6.
However, true to the couple’s notoriously private dating life, they managed to outfox everyone — including their sleuthing superfans — and keep their ceremony a complete secret from the public eye.
Allen first hinted that she was engaged back in May when she uploaded a mirror selfie that showed off a dazzling piece on her ring finger, but she failed to mention it in her caption.
When a fan tried to squeezing more information out of her, Allen cheekily commented “First rule of engagement club….” — a direct reference to the movie Fight Club. For those who haven’t seen the movie, the quote goes, “The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club.”
Allen and Harbour first sparked dating rumors last summer but didn’t publicly confirm their relationship until they walked the red carpet together at the 2020 SAG Awards in January.
Prior to wedding Harbour, the “Smile” singer was previously married to Sam Cooper from 2010 to 2015 and welcomed two daughters, Marnie Rose and Ethel.
ABC/Mike Rosenthal(LOS ANGELES) — Production has resumed for Grey’s Anatomy, which is now working hard at filming its seventeenth season. Ellen Pompeo, who stars as Dr. Meredith Grey, shared a glance of what it looked like returning to the set after COVID-19 forced the season to wrap up early.
“First time back in my scrubs,” the actress captioned the Tuesday selfie of her and co-star Richard Flood — who plays Dr. Cormac Hayes — wearing N95 surgical masks and signature navy scrubs.
Flood was promoted from a recurring to a main character for the upcoming season.
And while returning to work was a celebratory occasion for both Flood and Pompeo, the 50-year-old actress acknowledged that her experiences of playing a doctor on television pales in comparison to what doctors and nurses wrestled with throughout the pandemic.
“Since we shut down filming 7000 healthcare workers have died from Covid,” the actress noted as she continued to honor those who continue to brave the front lines.
Production on Grey‘s sixteenth season was suspended mid-March.
“I dedicate my season 17 to all who have fallen and to everyone of you who by the grace of God is still standing,” continued Pompeo. “This season is for you with humility and a bit of humor to get us through and endless amounts of gratitude.”
It was previously confirmed that season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy will address the ongoing pandemic in a new storyline.
While Pompeo did not disclose how the long running medical drama plans to tackle the ongoing global health crisis, she did express, “I hope we do you proud.”
It is unknown at this time when Grey’s Anatomy will return to ABC.
ABC/Image Group LASuperstar duo Dan + Shay are showing off a new side of their current single, “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” with a live, stripped-down version of the song.
The pair recorded this version of “I Should Probably Go to Bed” at Ocean Way Studio in Nashville, and the venue’s high ceilings, stunning acoustics and church-like stained glass windows provide the perfect backdrop for the new take. Alongside the release itself, Dan + Shay dropped a video of them recording the song at Ocean Way.
The simplicity of the song’s new version stands in stark contrast to its initial music video, a dizzying clip that finds the duo struggling to stay stable in the winding, circuitous halls of a mansion that starts to defy gravity.
Though Dan + Shay have had to pause their 2020 touring plans amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they’re already counting down the days until they can get back out on the road again: Last month, they announced new dates for The (Arena) Tour in 2021. In the meantime, they’ve also been announced as performers for the upcoming 2020 ACM Awards, which will take place on September 16.
“I Should Probably Go to Bed” follows “10,000 Hours,” the country duo’s 2019 hit with pop superstar Justin Bieber. If they’re following a traditional album release format, “I Should Probably Go to Bed” is likely the second single from the next Dan + Shay album.

(NEW YORK) — Tennis star Naomi Osaka received an unexpected and emotional thank you Tuesday night from the families of some of the victims of police brutality and racial injustice whose legacies she is highlighting at the U.S. Open.
Osaka was surprised after her quarterfinal win with video messages from the mother of Trayvon Martin and the father of Ahmaud Arbery thanking her for honoring them during the tournament.
“God bless you for what you’re doing and you supporting our family with my son,” Arbery’s father, Marcus Arbery, Sr., said in a video message played for Osaka on ESPN. “My family really, really appreciates that, and God bless you.”
“I just want to say thank you to Naomi Osaka for representing Trayvon Martin on your customized mask and also for Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor,” said Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon’s mother, in a separate video message. “We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Continue to do well. Continue to kick butt at the U.S. Open.”
At each of her matches at the Open, Osaka, 22, has worn a different face mask featuring the name of a person who has been a victim of racial injustice. On Tuesday, Osaka’s face mask honored George Floyd, who died on May 25 after a Minneapolis police officer pinned him down and put his knee on his neck.
Osaka appeared visibly moved while watching the messages from Fulton and Arbery, Sr., and tweeted later that she cried while watching their messages again.
“I often wonder if what I’m doing is resonating and reaching as many people as I hope,” she wrote. “That being said, I tried to hold it in on set but after watching these back I cried so much. The strength and the character both of these parents have is beyond me. Love you both, thank you.”
After Osaka wore her mask featuring Trayvon’s name at her fourth-round match, she tweeted about the impact of his death. Trayvon, 17, was killed Feb. 26, 2012, in Florida while walking home from a convenience store after neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman confronted and later shot him. Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter in July 2013.
“I remember Trayvon’s death clearly. I remember being a kid and just feeling scared.I know his death wasn’t the first but for me it was the one that opened my eyes to what was going on,” Osaka wrote on Twitter. “To see the same things happening over and over still is sad. Things have to change.”
Osaka joined fellow athletes in protest last month after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man who was shot seven times by police in front of his children. The shooting sparked civil unrest in Blake’s hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and across the country.
Osaka protested the shooting by not competing in an Aug. 27 scheduled semifinal match at the 2020 Western & Southern Open.
Osaka has said that she brought seven face masks with her to the U.S. Open, one for each match if she makes it through to the finals.
