Anna Camp leaves encouraging note for those struggling with their mental health because of COVID-19

No Comments Entertainment News

Walt Disney Television/Lou Rocco(LOS ANGELES) — Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp told fans she needs a little extra courage to help her through the week before writing them an inspiring note.

In an emotionally raw Instagram post on Thursday, the 38-year-old actress expressed that she had a lot to get off her chest.

“I rarely make a personal post such as this, but I need to speak out and in a way reach out to anyone willing to listen,” the True Blood alum confessed, noting how the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected her mental and physical health.

A fraction of the recent tragedies plaguing Camp’s life are “having experienced personal pain and loss, both physically and emotionally to the point of shock that my body could even handle it, having Covid and all the lingering effects, losing a family member.”

The actress furthered that she also found herself drifting apart and disconnecting from friends who were once close to her and that she recently was abused and had to rely on “every once of courage I had to survive and save myself.”

“Today I’m giving this medal to myself. And to anyone who feels the way I do,” she wrote. “I’m tired of not feeling good enough.”

Added Camp, “Never let anyone throw your trauma in your face and use it against you. Hold onto your courage. And keep moving forward. I am worthy. And so are you.”

“This post is for anyone who is tired of smiling and nodding while silently screaming on the inside,” the Desperados star closed out.  “If I could give each of you a medal, I would.”

Shortly after penning her encouraging message, Camp returned to Instagram to announce her “best friend” Rocky, her beloved dog of 12 years, passed away.

Chrissy Teigen reveals the real reason she quit Twitter

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Byron Cohen(LOS ANGELES) — A day after Chrissy Teigen announced she was pulling the plug on her Twitter account, the Bring on the Funny host took to Instagram with more on what prompted the sudden decision.

After reiterating her previous statement that the platform “no longer serves me as positively as it does negatively,” Teigen went on to stress that it was “absolutely NOT Twitter’s fault.”

“I believe they do all they can to combat relentless bullying, any honestly, it’s not the bullying!!” she wrote. “You guys have no idea how much they’ve reached out and worked with my team and me personally. It’s not the platform. It’s not the ‘bullying.'”

“And it’s not the trolls. The trolls I can deal with, although it weighs on you,” she continued. “It’s just me.”

“I have to come to terms with the fact some people aren’t gonna like me. I hate letting people down or upsetting people and I feel like I just did it over and over and over,” she added. “Someone can’t read that they disappointed you in some way every single day, all day without physically absorbing that energy. I can feel it in my bones.”

Chrissy’s Twitter account has since been deleted and all links to her previous tweets direct to an error page declaring “this account doesn’t exist.”

'My Savior': Carrie Underwood offers "a warm hug" and a "sense of home" with Christian album

No Comments Country Music News

Jeff JohnsonEven during a pandemic, Carrie Underwood‘s figured out how to be amazingly productive. Today, just six months after the release of her holiday album, My Gift, her Christian album, My Savior, arrives.

The thirteen-track volume collects mostly standards like “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “Softly and Tenderly,” with the most contemporary track being Bill and Gloria Gaither‘s 1971 classic, “Because He Lives.”

“I grew up singing these in church,” Carrie explains, “and my church that we go to right now, you know, they play a lot of very contemporary Christian songs, you know, praise and worship songs.”

“But every once in a while,” she continues, “they’ll kind of throw in, like a chorus or something of some hymn that I grew up with. And there’s an immediate sense of home when I hear that.”

“And that’s kind of, you know, where I was at when we were recording this,” she reveals. “You know, it should be like a warm hug.”

More than twelve months into the global COVID-19 pandemic, Carrie believes My Savior is an album the world needs.

“After a year like last year, you know, I feel like people are definitely, you know, searching,” she reflects. “A lot of people were thrown out of their daily routines and, you know, trying to figure life out and be more introspective or kind of slow down. We were all forced to slow down.”

On Easter Sunday, April 4, Carrie hopes you’ll slow down long enough to check out her concert, My Savior: Live from the Ryman, which you can stream starting at noon ET via Facebook.

Taylor Swift drops melancholy "You All Over Me (From The Vault)" featuring Maren Morris

No Comments Country Music News

Beth GarrabrantTaylor Swift tapped country superstar Maren Morris to breathe new life into a song she recorded over a decade ago but never released, which she renamed “You All Over Me (From The Vault).”  The song dropped Friday at the stroke of midnight.

The melancholy single details the haze that follows a devastating breakup and the struggle of rediscovering one’s independence, especially when everything is a reminder of the lost love.

The gentle acoustic guitar and banjo-led single is reminiscent of The Chicks‘ “Landslide,” which highlights the emotional lyrics that were penned by a then-teenage Swift.

While the Grammy winner’s songwriting has gained strength since her Fearless era in 2008, Swift’s mastery of conveying emotions through imagery rings clear in this previously unreleased single, making “You All Over Me” a truly devastating breakup single.

Releasing the song’s lyric video, the 31-year-old singer opted to showcase the words against a backdrop of rain hitting the wet pavement.

“I lived, and I learned / Had you, got burned / Held out, and held on / God knows, too long and wasted time / Lost tears, swore that I’d get out of here/ But no amount of freedom gets you clean / I still got you all over me,” Swift and Morris harmonize in the chorus.

In the end, Swift realizes that she cannot separate herself from the relationship just yet and acknowledges that it has permanently changed her — so, in the end, she will always carry a piece of her ex with her.

“You All Over Me (From The Vault)” is one of the bonus tracks that will be featured on the hotly anticipated Fearless (Taylor’s Version) album, due out April 9.  The album features 20 singles and six bonus tracks, which fans can pre order now for $13 on Swift’s website.
