(NEW YORK) — Oregon is replacing Washington in the Pac-12 championship game against USC, the conference announced on Monday

The Pac-12 Championship game will be played on Friday at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles.

Washington would have been under the 53-player minimum threshold because of positive coronavirus tests and isolation of players due to contact tracing.

Washington had its last game cancelled against Oregon for the same reason.

“Our goal every season is to win the Pac-12 Championship. I am so proud of the work our team and staff have put in to position ourselves to attain that goal,” said head coach Jimmy Lake in a statement. “Unfortunately, the virus is in our footprint. We have not been able to resume football activities and currently the entirety of one of our key position groups, deemed a critical position group by the Pac-12, is in quarantine. There is no path forward to practice or play this week. Our focus now is getting everyone healthy so we can resume football activities and prepare for a possible bowl game. We are crushed that we cannot bring home the Pac-12 trophy for our fans, staff and players.”

Oregon, 3-2, finished with the second best record in the Pac-12 North division.

USC, 5-0, finished first in the Pac-12 South division.

The Ducks were scheduled to play Colorado this weekend. It is unclear if Colorado will have a new opponent.

Oregon is the reigning Pac-12 champions having beat Utah 37-15 last year.

"Feeling good! Shaved my head" – Jeff Bridges gives fans update amid cancer battle

No Comments Entertainment News

Randy Holmes/ABC via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Via his Twitter account and website, Jeff Bridges updated fans on the latest in his life since he announced in October he was battling Lymphoma.

Seen smiling as he’s resting on a hammock, with a furry friend in his lap, a bald-headed Bridges noted, “Feeling good! Shaved my head. Got a puppy – Monty. Had a birthday. 71, man.”

The Big Lebowski star turned 71 on December 4.

The Academy Award winner remains in good spirits, and even pointed fans to his site, where he tried to drum up the downloads for a musician friend of his, John Goodwin. Bridges said, “musicians are having a hell of a time making a living these days with the whole COVID deal.” He linked to some of Goodwin’s performances, and urged fans, “If you dig it, please support him with some moolah, some coinage, scratch, $, money…he can use the support!”

Bridges looked well, and with his shaved head, incidentally not unlike how he did in Iron Man 2, for which he shaved his head to play villain Obidiah Stane.

Luke Bryan taps Tim Tebow for day one of Pranksmas

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Stewart Cook The Christmas season just got a whole lot sillier in Luke Bryan‘s household with the arrival of Pranksmas

The annual tradition sees Luke and his wife Caroline pranking each other, with day one of 2020 Pranksmas involving Tim Tebow

During a fundraiser last year for the couple’s charity auction for the Brett Boyer Foundation, Caroline won Tim’s Heisman Trophy for six months.

To kick off Pranksmas this year, Tim shares that he and Luke teamed up to convince Caroline that the Heisman got damaged during travel and arrived at their home in pieces, sending her into a panic.

In the video, Luke can be seen telling his wife that he got a text from the NFL star saying that the Heisman had been shipped to their house days prior and he wanted to come see it. The country singer then grabs a box from outside, pulling out a shattered glass case that Caroline believes is housing the trophy.

“Y’all, this is not funny, I’m shaking. This is not okay,” she says.

But before she can react any further, she looks in the case to see a decoy trophy inside, just as Tim walks in with the real Heisman in hand, the room bursting into laughter.

“Luke convinced me that Tim Tebow’s Heisman was trashed and it was pretty much my fault! I think my blood pressure went to an all time high!!’ Caroline shares alongside the video. “I still reign king of pranks in our house,” Luke adds

Gabrielle Union talks the "triggering" year of 2020 and why "Zaya's peace is non-negotiable"

No Comments Entertainment News

Facebook Watch(LOS ANGELES) — In the premiere episode of Taraji P. Henson’s new Facebook Watch show, Peace of Mind with Taraji, Henson and her best friend Tracie Jade spoke with Gabrielle Union as their first guest.

During the wide-ranging interview, which focused on the challenges of mental health, specifically in the Black community, Union shared how 2020 has been a triggering year for her because of politics and “a daily barrage of the brutalization of Black and brown bodies.”

Union says those PTSD triggers took on a physical form which she says felt like “a full body heart attack.”

“Usually my right arm starts to feel like it is going numb… the way you would imagine a heart attack, but in your knees, in your legs, in your arms, in your chest, in your eyeballs,” she said. “Trauma can take so many forms.”

During the candid conversation, Union also opened up about her thirteen-year-old stepdaughter Zaya‘s experience coming out as trans earlier this year.

“Zaya’s peace is non-negotiable,” Gabrielle said. “As Zaya gathered more language, she was able to tell us about her identity. She was able to tell us about her sexuality. She was able to tell us, ‘I’m trans.’ She says, ‘I’ve come out a few times. I came out to my teacher in third grade.”

Zaya, who’s the daughter of Gabrielle’s husband Dwyane Wade, also told Union she felt “outed” when the couple posted a photo of her at her birthday party in Chicago.

“And that picture was dissected on certain Black blogs, and the comments were the guessing as to who Zaya was and why,” Union explained.

The actress says she and Wade are still learning from Zaya.

“We only know what we know,” Union said. “You have to be open to embrace what we don’t know.”
