Fake fight, real pain: Mel Gibson accidentally dislocated 'Boss Level' co-star Frank Grillo's jaw on set

No Comments Entertainment News

Hulu(NEW YORK) — During their climactic face-off in the sci-fi action picture Boss Level, Mel Gibson actually got chatterbox co-star Frank Grillo to quiet down — when the Lethal Weapon star accidentally dislocated the big screen tough guy’s jaw.

“The one fight I had with Mel — you would think it would be, but he’s not really comfortable with striking,” says Grillo, an accomplished boxer, to ABC Audio.

“And so I said, ‘Mel, when you throw the punch…make sure you don’t lean in because you’ll catch me.” And the first punch he throws, he comes around and he elbows me in face. Now he’s got Popeye forearms,” Frank recalls with a laugh.

“So we say, Cut. And he goes, ‘You OK?’ And I’m like, ‘Uh huh.’ Like, I don’t want to get Mel upset,” Grillo laughs.

“I go back to [director JoeCarnahan, I go ‘Jaw.’ He goes, ‘That bad?’ I go ‘Out.’ He had dislodged my jaw.”

Grillo says, “[W]e had to get somebody onto set, stuck her hands in my jaw — white, I mean, white-out pain — and had to…click it back into place.”

“But listen,” the Gibson fan says with a laugh, “At least it was Mel.”

Carnahan jokingly recalls the moment, laughing, “Frank came back like [mumbling] “That’s it for me. I’m done! I’m done!”

Laughing, he adds sarcastically of his friend, “I mean, you know, the fact Grillo couldn’t talk for 30 seconds, was not breaking anybody’s heart. It was kind of like, ‘Guys, we sure? Are we sure we want to reset his jaw? Maybe we just take a beat. Let’s think about this.'”

There was another bright side. “I put that shot in the movie, you know, so. So it worked!”

Boss Level debuts on Hulu Friday.

Teyonah Parris talks 'WandaVision' Easter eggs and why she feels "no pressure at all" in the MCU

No Comments Entertainment News

Courtesy of Marvel Studios/Disney+(NEW YORK) — Teyonah Parris says she’s well aware of the many Easter eggs within her hit Disney+ series WandaVision.

“I definitely see [all] the theories because fans will tag me in it,” Parris, who plays S.W.O.R.D. Captain Monica Rambeau, tells ABC Audio.

“They’re going to make sure I see it,” she laughs. “And what they don’t tag me in, my mother has sent me. I’m like ‘Ma, can you please just enjoy this? I don’t need to see all of this.’ But she’s really excited.”

As a fan herself, Parris admits she’s been tempted to ask the writers where the series is going.

“I want to reach out and say, ‘Is this what’s happening? Because I didn’t even know that,'” she says. “But I feel like they wouldn’t respond because we know no one will want it in writing.”

“They might think I was going to secretly screenshot it and put it on my page or something,” Parris jokes. “So, I’m going to wait till after to ask these questions because I also enjoy… being surprised as well.”

While it’s safe to say starring in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a superpowered character is any actor’s dream, Parris says she really feels “[no] pressure at all.”

“I’ve been deeply grateful, and excited, and honored to be a part of the MCU, particularly now in Phase Four, where they are making such huge strides in diversity among the superhero space,” she says.

“It’s just been a wonderful experience with the creative team, making sure that this was a full fledged character who had opinions and a point of view and passions,” Parris continues. “And so it’s been really fun.”

“And what the future holds for Monica? We’ll have to wait and see,” she adds.

The final WandaVision episode launches Friday on Disney+.

No Comments Entertainment News

Stuart Cahill/MediaNews Group/Boston Herald via Getty Image(LOS ANGELES) — Lori Loughlin was photographed for the first time since her release from prison in December, fulfilling her court-ordered community service

Photos obtained by the New York Post show Loughlin, dressed in jeans, a baseball cap, a sweatshirt and jeans handing out meals for Project Angel Food, an organization that prepares and delivers food to those impacted by life-threatening illnesses.

Loughlin, 56, and her husband, 57-year-old fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy charges after they were accused of paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits. However, neither Isabella Rose Giannulli, now 22, nor Olivia Jade Giannulli, now 21, had ever rowed competitively.

Loughlin agreed to serve two months behind bars, perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $150,000 fine.

Giannulli began serving his five-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution, Lompoc, in Southern California in November and is scheduled for release in April.

Whitney Cummings gets "I love Jennifer Aniston" tattoo on her foot

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC — ABC/Jeff Niera(LOS ANGELES) — Whitney Cummings just figured out the perfect way to get a good laugh and express her love for the one and only Jennifer Aniston — by getting it tattooed on her foot.

During a new episode of her podcast Good For You, the 38-year-old comedian let her guest, super-influencer Hannah Stocking, tattoo the phrase “I [heart] J” on her foot, with the heart being the actual shape.

“There’s nothing I won’t do for a laugh. I’m fully getting an ‘I love Jennifer Aniston’ tattoo,” Cummings joked. “This is so dumb, and I’m so into it…Jen’s gonna see this.”

Whitney has been friends with Jennifer, 52, for years and attended the actress’ wedding to ex Justin Theroux in 2015.
