Jared Leto reveals the "dark place" he fell into when filming 'The Little Things'

No Comments Entertainment News

Photo courtesy of Warner Bros. Inc. (ROME) — Jared Leto is currently in Rome filming alongside Adam Driver and Lady Gaga for the film House of Gucci.  Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, the 49-year-old actor reflected on his previous roles that put him in “a dark place.”

Leto recently starred in The Little Things, where he plays a serial killing suspect named Albert Sparma. Playing someone who kills, he says, was psychologically and physically demanding.

“You’re spending time in a dark place, and the materials, the research can start to creep into your dreams at some point,” the actor explained. “For anybody, that’s, like, binge watched Making a Murderer, at a certain point you need a break. You need to turn on Tiger King or something.”

Looking ahead, Leto teased his upcoming project, Morbius, which has been pushed to January 21, 2022 because of the pandemic.

However, he ensures fans it’s well worth the wait.

“It’s a brand-new Marvel character who has never been onscreen before, so that was a blast,” he gushed of the victim -turned vampiric anti-hero. “I play a doctor who’s searching for a cure for his disease, who’s very sick and frail and at the end of his life and then he gets strong and healthy, and there’s monstrous aspects to it. That I’m psyched about.”

As for what the actor has on the brain right now, it’s awards season — specifically the Academy Awards and if The Little Things will score a nod.

If not, Leto says he won’t sweat it because the true award was working with fellow Oscar winner Denzel Washington.

“He’s one of the few actors that has really had that consistency, and he really puts his full body and heart and soul into every performance that he does,” he gushed. “So, just the Denzel of it all was enough reward for me.”

Piers Morgan not backing away from Meghan Markle comments; calls her Oprah interview "contemptible"

No Comments Entertainment News

Photo by JORAS/GC Images(LONDON) — In a day and age where any given celebrity scandal usually ends in a series of apology interviews, Piers Morgan isn’t backing down over comments he made on U.K. TV disparaging Meghan Markle. following her and husband Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan’s criticism of the Duchess of Sussex included Piers doubting Markle’s claims that she was “suicidal” after joining the Royal Family. This led to an on-camera tiff with Morgan’s Good Morning Britain co-anchors, after which he walked off of the set. He later quit the program in a parting of the ways with U.K.’s ITV that he told the U.K. The Mirror was “amicable.”

To the tabloid’s cameras that were waiting outside his London home Wednesday morning, Morgan said, “I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion. If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that’s entirely their right.”

He added, “I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.”

The Mirror reports ITV told Morgan to apologize, but he refused.

“[W]e agreed to disagree,” Morgan told the tabloid. “If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.”

Piers said he was on a “temporary hibernation,” adding defiantly, “…although the woke crowd will think that they’ve cancelled me, I think they will be rather disappointed when I re-emerge.”

Morgan’s comments about Markle apparently led her to file a formal complaint with ITV, Variety reports.

Naya Rivera's dad slams 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy for "broken promises" made after her death

No Comments Entertainment News

FOX(LOS ANGELES) — Naya Rivera’s dad, George, is not too happy with TV producer Ryan Murphy — and he took to Twitter to let the world know why.

Late Tuesday evening, George blasted the Glee creator for not fulfilling his promise to create a college fund for his grandson, Naya’s son, Josey Dorsey.

“Everyone needs to know what Ryan Murphy really did … or didn’t do !!! I’m about to blow up this story …. and make sure he’s knows that I know,” he declared.

George added claims that Murphy was full of “Broken Promises,” “fake outrage,” “hollow gestures,” and even claimed that he never received a phone call from the Hollywood star following Naya’s death.

“When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are ‘less than’ …. vocalize a good game , but it’s as shallow as the sets on stage , that they create,” George tweeted. “Promises made in public, only to fade with time and excuses… even in [an] unexplainable tragedy.”

Following the series of accusations, Murphy issued a statement of his own, explaining that he actually is working on fulfilling his promise.

“Myself, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera’s child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust,” he wrote. “We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate.”

Rachel Lindsay says a primetime 'Bachelor'-type "love story" for people of color would be "impactful"

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Paul Hebert(LOS ANGELES) — Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay is sharing her thoughts on what she’d like to see happen to the Bachelor franchise.

Prior to Chris Harrison’s apology following the backlash for his defense of contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s past racially insensitive behavior, Lindsay told ABC Audio she’d be interested in seeing a Bachelor-type series focused on documenting diverse love.

“If you had people of color telling their stories that were on [prime time television], I do think it would be impactful,” Lindsay told ABC Audio of the idea. “I fight for diversity within the Bachelor franchise. And I do want to see a love story that puts two people of color at the end. But sometimes I wonder, ‘Are we asking for something that we just may never see?'”

While Lindsay said that it was “a knee jerk reaction” by ABC to pick Matt James as the current Bachelor, she does acknowledge that changes are being made. However, the former Bachelorette points out that there’s still important work to be done.

“And I’ve said that in order to really tell our story, to really make people of color feel comfortable, to really get it — you got to have people in the decision room who were of color,” she said. “Otherwise it’s never going to work.”

“Yes, they’ve hired a consulting firm, which is a step, but they can only suggest things,” Lindsay noted. “They aren’t the ones making the decisions at the end of the day. So until you have people who look like us making those decisions in the room, you’re not going to get that. And so maybe the only way to get that is to have a show that is on the same level.”

“But for us, by us,” she added.

Patrick Schwarzenegger reveals he once worked as Paris Hilton's security guard

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Imagine having a Schwarzenegger on your six.  For socialite Paris Hilton, that was her reality… but for one day only.

Patrick Schwarzenegger revealed during his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he once served as Hilton’s security guard.

Before breaking into Hollywood, the 27-year-old actor worked several jobs at the Los Angeles-based mall, known as The Grove.

“I did everything there: valet, security, property walks, lease management tours,” he described. “I have this really funny story of one time… I was a security guard for the week. Meanwhile, I have my own security guards for me because my dad was governor.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger served as California’s governor from 2003 to 2011.

While working as a security guard, the young actor reveals that a very unexpected job was tossed his way.

“So, I’m like a 15-year-old kid with an earpiece and a suit jacket and I show up for work, and they’re like, ‘Okay, you’re security for Paris Hilton today. She’s got her book tour, she’s coming to The Grove, she’s gonna be signing autographs,'” Patrick recalled. “I’m like, ‘Okay, I know Paris, but okay.'”

He said Paris got a chuckle out of it, telling host Jimmy Kimmel, “And so she gets out of the car [and] Paris has a security guard that used to work for my dad. I show up and I greet Paris and she’s like, ‘Patrick Schwarzenegger? What are you doing?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m your security guard for the day!’ And that was it!”

Calling the time he tailed Paris “a fun experience,” he’s glad to be following in his famous father’s footsteps — admitting with a grin that he thinks he’s a better actor than his old man.

Patrick’s newest film Moxie is available now on Netflix.
