Michael B. Jordan pens heartbreaking farewell letter to Chadwick Boseman: "I wish we had more time"

No Comments Entertainment News

Marvel Studios (LOS ANGELES) — In the days following the shocking announcement that Chadwick Boseman died at age 43 following a private four year battle with colon cancer, tributes have poured in from his Black Panther costars.

Michael B. Jordan, who played Boseman’s on-screen nemesis, expressed his grief Monday by penning a heart-wrenching goodbye to his “big brother.”

“I wish we had more time,” the 33-year-old expressed. “One of the last times we spoke, you said we were forever linked, and now the truth of that means more to me than ever.”

Jordan went on to detail how important Boseman was to him, not only as a dear friend but as someone who made his acting career possible by “paving the way for me.”

“I’ve been watching, learning and constantly motivated by your greatness,” continued the Just Mercy star.  “Through it all, you never lost sight of what you loved most. You cared about your family , your friends, your craft, your spirit. You cared about the kids, the community, our culture and humanity. You cared about me.”

“You are my big brother, but I never fully got a chance to tell you,” confessed Jordan. “I’m more aware now than ever that time is short with people we love and admire.”

He then named all the ways he will be missing Boseman, “I’m gonna miss your honesty, your generosity, your sense of humor, and incredible gifts.  I miss the gift of sharing space with you in scenes.”

Jordan made one final promise to his role model, writing, “I’m dedicating the rest of my days to live the way you did. With grace, courage, and no regrets.”

Then, with a final nod to their memorable scene from Black Panther, he concluded “‘Is this your king!?’ Yes . he . is!  Rest In Power Brother.”

'The Bachelorette' Clare Crawley demands a little “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” in new promo

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC (LOS ANGELES) — The Bachelorette‘s Clare Crawley isn’t looking for just any man; she wants a guy who’ll treat her with a little “Respect” as well.

A new promo for the Bachelorette’s upcoming 16th season, which dropped on Monday, features a Keke Palmer cover of Aretha Franklin’s classic 1967 hit, while Crawley is seen grilling a perspective suitor.

“I’ve been down this road before,” says the 39-year-old hairstylist, who first appeared on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season 18 of The Bachelor.

Declares Crawley, “I want respect.”

Clare, wearing a white one-shouldered dress in the clip, is then seen surrounded by rose petals while kicking off her heels and playfully tossing a rose at the camera.

Entertainment Tonight reported in early August that Crawley — the oldest Bachelorette in the series’ history — managed to find love just weeks into filming and no longer needs to complete her romantic journey. Instead, multiple sources say Tayshia Adams from Season 23 of The Bachelor will be brought on to continue handing out roses to the eligible suitors after Crawley’s departure.

The Bachelorette returns Tuesday, October 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

The cast of 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' heads to HBO Max with an unscripted reunion special

Chris Haston/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — To honor the show’s 30th anniversary, the cast of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air will reunite for an unscripted reunion special airing on HBO Max.

The Banks family — including Will Smith, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Alfonso Ribeiro, as well as DJ Jazzy Jeff — is getting back together again to look back on the show’s cultural impact. The sitcom ran on NBC for six seasons, from 1990 to 1996, stopping just short of reaching 150 episodes.

The family previously reunited in April on Will’s Snapchat series Will From Home, where the cast paid tribute to James Avery, who played Phillip Banks and passed away in 2014. Earlier this month, it was announced that Will is developing a Fresh Prince reboot:  Based on Morgan Cooper’s viral video, Bel-Air, it’ll reimagine the show as a gritty drama.

The 30th-anniversary reunion special is set to tape on Sept. 10 and will debut exclusively on HBO Max around Thanksgiving. Fans can enjoy the show’s entire run now on HBO Max.

'Tenet', 'The New Mutants' already pirated following foreign release

No Comments Entertainment News

Melinda Sue Gordon; ©2020 Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. All Rights Reserved.(LONDON) — In what both studios had feared might happen, the release of Warner Bros. Tenet and 20th Century Film’s The New Mutants overseas has apparently led to pirated versions of the films hitting the Internet.

Both studios chose to open the films in wider release in foreign markets, given that theaters in the U.S. are still operating in a very limited capacity compared to their global counterparts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Variety reports both bootlegged versions of both films appear to have been shot with camcorders, and are “of negligible quality.” One has Korean subtitles, and the other German, according to the trade.

One reason that major blockbusters are generally released simultaneously in many global markets is to cut down on pirated versions cutting into studios’ bottom line. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led Warner Bros. and 20th Century Films to release the movies overseas first.

The New Mutants opened in the U.S. over the weekend, to the tune of around $8 million at the box office; Tenet, which took in around $53 million, opens next week in those states where movie theaters have been allowed to open — which, at present, don’t include the major markets of New York and Los Angeles.
