Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Aldis Hodge has officially landed the high-flying role of Hawkman in the the forthcoming DC Comics film Black Adam.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, the film’s star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, welcomed Hodge to the Black Adam family.

“Hawkman is a critical leading role for our movie, as he is the fiery leader of the JSA (Justice Society of America) and one of the most beloved and legendary characters in the DC UNIVERSE,” The Rock wrote in the post. “I called Aldis personally as I wanted to surprise him that he got the role and it wound up being one of the greatest conversations I’ve ever had.”

According to The Rock, Aldis was in disbelief that he was actually getting a call from Dwayne Johnson himself.

“Whoever this is stop playing on my phone,” The Rock wrote, sharing Aldis’ response to his call. 

“Aldis, this is DJ. I just called to say thank you so much for sending in your audition – it was great and I really appreciate the efforts you made,” the Rock continued, sharing more of their conversation. “Just wanted to say thanks and best of luck in all you do. And one more thing — welcome to Black Adam.”

At that point, The Rock says Aldis had the “longest pause” and told him to “hold on” as he walked away to celebrate.

After asking him if he was “okay,” Johnson told Hodge that he was “gonna crush [his] role, and the two proceeded to have “an awesome conversation full of gratitude, love and motivation.”

Hodge later responded to the news in his own Instagram post, adding “So the cat’s out of the bag. @therock, it’s going to be an honor to join you.”

Amanda Seyfried welcomed her second child — a baby boy — with husband Thomas Sadoski. The two revealed the news to INARA and War Child USA, organizations that provide life-saving assistance to children impacted by war.

“Since the birth of our daughter 3 years ago our commitment to the innocent children that are so brutally affected by conflict and war has been a driving force in our lives,” Seyfried and Sadoski said in a statement. “With the birth of our son the work of INARA and War Child has become our North Star.”

They also shared a photo of the newborn along with the announcement.

Seyfried, 34, and Sadoski, 44, are board members of INARA and ambassadors to War Child USA. They had not announced their second pregnancy publicly.

Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — One month after his passing, stories of Chadwick Boseman’s generous spirit continue to come to light.

Sienna Miller, who co-starred opposite the late actor in the 2019 action-thriller 21 Bridges, reveals in a new interview with Empire that Boseman donated part of his salary to her.

“I didn’t know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven’t yet. But I am going to tell it because I think it’s a testament to who he was,” Miller begins.

“This was a pretty big-budget film, and I know that everybody understands about the pay disparity in Hollywood, but I asked for a number that the studio wouldn’t get to,” Miller explains. “And because I was hesitant to go back to work and my daughter was starting school and it was an inconvenient time, I said, ‘I’ll do it if I’m compensated in the right way.’”

“And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserved to be paid,” says Miller, who calls the gesture “the most astounding thing” she’d ever experienced during her Hollywood career.

“It’s just unfathomable to imagine another man in that town behaving that graciously or respectfully,” she says.

Boseman passed away on August 28 at age 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic for HBO(LOS ANGELES) — Kajillionaire actress Evan Rachel Wood says there’s no shame in cutting ties with the things that make you miserable, even if it’s Twitter.  

The actress announced that she has ended her relationship with the website, telling Variety that she deleted the app off her phone for good.

While Twitter gave her the opportunity to connect with fans, the 33-year-old Emmy nominee admitted she was tired of her innocuous opinions expressed on the website accidentally becoming front page news. 

“And it would be, like, ‘Evan Rachel Wood goes on a rant!’ or ‘Evan Rachel Wood attacks this person,'” she expressed.  

After finding out the price of freely expressing her opinions, the Westworld star decided to pull the trigger and purge the app from the phone.

“Honestly, I think it’s one of the  best decisions I ever made,” she laughed. “Really.”

So, how long has it been since Wood quit using Twitter?  She told Variety that she’s pulled the plug a few months ago and hasn’t looked back.

The actress also spilled some secrets regarding her upcoming season on Westworld, confirming that her character Dolores did die in the most recent series finale.

However, that doesn’t mean she’s been written out of the HBO show.  In fact, she might be coming back as a whole new character… or so she thinks.

Despite the uncertainty, Wood says she’s happy to return to her show, but admits it was hard saying goodbye to Dolores.

“I’ve been on such a journey with her. And it’s influenced my own life, and changed me as a person,” she noted.

As for when Westworld resumes production, Wood admits she doesn’t have a clue, adding, “I’m assuming by the time we go back, everything should be… functional?”

David Livingston/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Chrissy Teigen suffered a scary pregnancy complication over the weekend.

On Sunday, the model revealed on her Instagram Stories that she was hospitalized for excessive bleeding.

Teigen, who’s about halfway through her third pregnancy, has been on weeks of mandatory bed rest and said her bleeding issues have been going on for a “little less than a month” due to a weak placenta.

“Basically he’s the strongest, coolest dude in the sh***iest house. His house is just falling apart,” she said of her baby boy. “It didn’t have a good foundation to begin with, though. He didn’t have the strongest chance at the very, very beginning.”

“It’s just hard because there’s not much you can do,” she added. “I’m in that weird in-between time of it being really dangerous to try anything.”

“Basically if I can make it through the next few weeks, if little boy can make it through the next few weeks, then, you know, we can go from there and be able to kind of get through the danger zone or whatever,” Teigen said. “But we have to get through this first. So yeah, it is scary. But it’s scary in the way that there’s just really nothing to do.”

Teigen’s husband, John Legend, was staying in the hospital room with her and she later documented him making her sandwich.

The two share four-year-old daughter Luna and two-year-old son Miles.
