Alec Baldwin hopes he can retire Trump 'SNL' role come November

No Comments Entertainment News

Will Heath/NBC(NEW YORK) — Saturday Night Live returns this weekend with enough political fodder to last a lifetime.

Alec Baldwin is returning as President Donald Trump this season and, as previously reported, Jim Carrey will be taking over the role of Democratic candidate Joe Biden from previous portrayers Jason Sudeikis and Woody Harrelson.

“I laughed pretty loud when Jason would play Biden,” the Match Game host tells ABC Audio. “But, you know, Jim’s funny. So far as I’m concerned, that’s a good fit.”

As for whether he’ll be able to retire the role of Trump come November, Baldwin — who has long made his feelings about Trump known — says he’s hoping that’s the case.

“That job changes people,” he says of the presidency. “There’s only one person in the history of the White House who has not been changed by the job. This individual remains as narrow-minded and as hateful and as divisive now as he was when he started…That to me is such a damning thing to say. And based on that alone, I hope he’s gone. I pray to God he’s gone.”

SNL, with host Chris Rock and musical guest Megan Thee Stallion, premieres its 46th season Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

'Roald Dahl’s The Witches' movie adaptation to have pre-Halloween debut on HBO Max

No Comments Entertainment News

HBO Max(LOS ANGELES) — Roald Dahl’s The Witches will be arriving on your TV screens just in time for Halloween.

Warner Bros. has announced that the movie adaptation of Dahl’s famous children’s book has conjured up an October 22 release date on HBO Max.

The film, starring Anne Hathaway and Octavia Spencer, was originally supposed to hit theaters this month but those plans were scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Witches tells the story of a young boy who uncovers a secret coven of witches and, with the help of his grandma, tries to stop their evil plan to turn all the children in the world into mice. Hathaway plays the Grand High Witch, while Spencer plays the boy’s loving grandma.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis — who co-wrote the screenplay with Kenya Barris and Guillermo del Toro — the film also stars Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth and Jahzir Bruno as the young boy. The boy is voiced by Chris Rock as an adult.

If the title sounds familiar, it’s because The Witches was previously adapted into a critically-acclaimed 1990 hit film starring Oscar-winner Anjelica Huston in the Anne Hathaway role.

Jamie Foxx returns to the MCU to reprise his role as Electro

No Comments Entertainment News

Elisabetta Villa/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Thought you’ve seen the last of Jamie Foxx in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?  Think again.

The actor, who appeared as the villain Electro in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 starring Andrew Garfield, is rumored to re-electrify the MCU once again.

This time, Hollywood Reporter states Foxx will go toe to toe with the franchise’s new web slinger, Tom Holland, in the follow up to 2019’s Spider-Man: Far from Home.  Unfortunately, further details of the film are tightly under wraps and Marvel has not released a comment about the report.

It’s expected that stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei and Tony Revolori will also return for the third Spider-Man installment, which is slated to hit theaters November 5, 2021.

It should be noted this isn’t the first familiar face to show up during Holland’s run as Spidey.  J.K. Simmons reprised his legendary take of J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, in the final moments of Far from Home.

Simmons played the cantankerous Jameson during Tobey Maguire’s run as Spider-Man.

No Comments Entertainment News

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Chrissy Teigen’s mother, Vilailuck Teigen, has broken her silence about the devastating loss of her grandson Jack.

Chrissy shared the tragic news on Wednesday that, after being hospitalized for “excessive bleeding” and pregnancy complications, her baby didn’t survive.

“My heart aches love you so much baby Jack,” Vilailuck grieved on Thursday, posting a heartbreaking video of her saying goodbye and mourning her grandson.

The video shows the elder Teigen approaching the nurse carrying the child as Legend is heard off camera gently assuring, “It’s okay.”

Vilailuck breaks down sobbing as she caresses Jack, apologizing and offering prayers before leaning in to give him one last kiss.  She also included two photos where she is cradling him close to her chest.

Fans were quick to offer the Chrissy’s Court star their condolences and words of encouragement.

Chrissy and John first announced that they were expecting their third child in August, breaking the news in the “Wild” music video.

The family continually shared pregnancy updates with fans, even as the former model began experiencing complications and was put on mandatory bedrest.

Teigen was hospitalized over the weekend due to “excessive bleeding” but, on Wednesday, the family announced that the baby didn’t make it.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen had written. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever,” she added.

Teigen previously shared she was halfway through her pregnancy.

Stillbirths, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, occur in approximately 1 in 160 deliveries in the United States.
