People are begging 'Saturday Night Live' to cast Jeff Goldblum as the fly on Mike Pence's head

No Comments Entertainment News

Theo Wargo/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The first and only vice presidential debate has come and gone, but people are still obsessing over that fly that landed on Vice President Mike Pence’s head.

Now, all eyes are on Saturday Night Live over whether or not that will be included when the sketch comedy show inevitably parodies Wednesday’s debate in the cold open.

While the show has yet to make any announcements on the matter, fans are already flooding Twitter with their dream casting choice — Jeff Goldblum.

Their reason is that Goldblum starred in the 1986 thriller The Fly, in which he plays a scientist who slowly transforms into a horrifying man/fly hybrid when an experiment goes wrong.

“If SNL doesn’t get Jeff Goldblum to play the fly in this week’s episode, they’re missing a massive opportunity,” Canadian actress Lauren Ash tweeted following the debate’s conclusion, sparking a massive call for action.

People have since inundated SNL with similar requests and beseeched showrunner Lorne Michaels to find a way to include Goldblum in Saturday’s cold open.

Other celebrities joining in the petition were Bob Saget, Darren Criss, Despicable Me producer John Cohen, CNN’s Don Lemon, former Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron and others.

While fans hold their breath in hopes that Goldblum will make a cameo this weekend, Maya Rudolph is already set to reprise her Emmy Award-winning rendition of Senator Kamala Harris on Saturday.

Bill Burr is also set to host the upcoming episode, with Jack White announced as the musical guest after country music star Morgan Wallen was cut from the lineup Wednesday because he broke COVID-19 protocol.

Saturday Night Live, which is in its 46th season, airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Larry David marries girlfriend Ashley Underwood in secret ceremony

No Comments Entertainment News

Michael Kovac/Getty Images for CORE, formerly J/P HRO(NEW YORK) — Congratulations are in order to Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Larry David, who tied the knot with Ashley Underwood on Wednesday night.

People confirms that David, 73, quietly exchanged vows with Underwood, whom he met in 2017 thanks to some mutual friends’ expert matchmaking.

David previously spoke to the New York Times in April about their fateful meeting, crediting Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen for bringing them together during the Borat star’s birthday bash.

“We were seated next to each other,” explained the Seinfeld alum. “Much to her surprise I left before dessert. I was doing so well, banter-wise, I didn’t want to risk staying too long and blowing the good impression.”

Underwood served as producer of Cohen’s Who Is America? satire series and came to become a close pal of Fisher’s.

After hitting it off, David and Underwood reportedly moved in together according to a January GQ article, where they continued to grow their family by rescuing animals.

Underwood first brought her cat to live under the same roof and soon opened their hearts to a Australian shepherd puppy that they rescued — naming it Bernie after Senator Bernie Sanders.

David was previously married to Laurie David for 14 years.  The two divorced in 2007 and share two daughters, Cazzie, 26 and Romy, 24.

Blake Jenner responds to Melissa Benoist's domestic abuse claims, comes forward as DV victim

No Comments Entertainment News

Charley Gallay/Getty Images for Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Nearly a year after actress Melissa Benoist came out as a survivor of domestic violence in an emotional video, her ex-partner has come forward with accusations of his own.

Blake Jenner, who met Benoist on the set of Glee, said Thursday that he takes full responsibility for his past actions.

“Over the past eleven months, I have been thinking about how to address a personal situation made public in late-2019,” Jenner began the six page confession, adding that he didn’t speak out against the allegations at first “out of shame and fear.”

“I take full responsibility and accountability for the hurt that I inflicted during my relationship with my past partner—emotionally, mentally and yes, physically,” the 28-year-old admitted.

Jenner spoke of an incident Benoist mentioned in her November 2019 video, where she accused him of throwing an iPhone at her face, which “tore my iris, nearly ruptured my eyeball, lacerated my skin and broke my nose.”

Jenner confirmed the incident, saying it transpired after “an argument that escalated” when he “threw my phone aimlessly and it hit my former partner in her face.”

“It’s a moment that I will regret for the rest of my life,” the What/If star furthered before revealing that he, too, is a victim of domestic violence.

“It is important to understand that there was mental, emotional and physical abuse inflicted from both ends,” said Jenner, saying Benoist was jealous and he would turn down job opportunities and professional relationships to please her.

Jenner added that he was “isolated” from his friends and family because Benoist would threaten self-harm. He also accused her of physical assault but declined on elaborating due to trauma.

Jenner and Benoist wed in 2015, but the Supergirl actress filed for divorce the following year.
