Chrissy Teigen returns to social media following pregnancy loss

No Comments Entertainment News

Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Chrissy Teigen made a subtle return to social media less than two weeks after her heartbreaking pregnancy loss.

Her reemergence occurred on Saturday, October 10, when the model and Cravings author shared that she was “finally” able to enjoy a laugh thanks to an Instagram post by Betches

The post consisted of a quote shared by Kara Morehart, which read, “Just booked an eyebrow waxing appointment and I’m excited I’ll be wearing a mask so I don’t have to hear ‘mustache too?'”

Betches comically captioned it, “It’s the little things.”

Teigen, amused by the post, commented, “Finally, a giggle. Thank you.”

Fans and supporters poured out love and condolences to the star and Betches replied, “it is an honor and a privilege.”

Teigen has not posted on social media since she shared news of the tragic loss on September 30.

In that post, the Chrissy’s Court star shared a slideshow of black-and-white photos of her grieving in the hospital and explained “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

Teigen also added that she and her husband John Legend had already picked out the name Jack for what would have been their third child together. They are already parents to daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2.

“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.  But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack,” she wrote. “So he will always be Jack to us.”

Vanessa Bryant congratulates Lakers on championship win: "Wish Kobe and Gianna were here to see this"

No Comments Entertainment News

Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images for Baby2Baby(LOS ANGELES) — Game 6 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat ended with Lebron James and Anthony Davis leading the Lakers TO their 17th championship, with a nail-biting victory of 106 to 93.

Vanessa Bryant, widow of the late NBA star Kobe Bryant, celebrated the team’s victory by expressing her heartfelt congratulations to the Lakers and team GM Rob Pelinka.

“Congratulations Uncle P! Congratulations Lakers,” Bryant penned in a Sunday night Instagram story, via her daughter Natalia. “Kobe was right RP ‘stay the course- block out the noise’ – @kobebryant.”

Of course, there were two people that should have watched team secure their new championship, as well, with Bryant adding, “Wish Kobe and Gianna were here to see this.”

The Lakers are now the 2020 NBA champions, overcoming the Heat in a Game 6 win and leading the championship 4 – 2 at Walt Disney World Resort.

This is the first time in a decade since the Lakers clinched the championship title, the last time being in 2010 when Kobe led the Lakers against the Boston Celtics.

The NBA legend tragically passed in January following a helicopter crash at the start of the year, which killed everyone aboard, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna — affectionately called “Mambacita” by the team.

The Lakers dedicated the season to their teammate, even honoring Kobe with Black Mamba jerseys in Game 5 of the championship.  Kobe designed the jerseys himself in 2016 upon his retirement from the NBA.

Kobe, a life-long member of the Lakers, spent his 20-year career wearing the signature purple and yellow jersey.

Sacha Baron Cohen wore a bulletproof vest when pranking a right-wing rally for 'Borat' sequel

No Comments Entertainment News

Amazon Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Sacha Baron Cohen’s highly anticipated sequel to Borat is out now and the actor opened up about a moment when he feared for his life while filming– when he crashed a right-wing rally.

In a recent op-ed for Time, the 48-year-old actor recounted the event and why he’s concerned about the rise of racism, antisemitism, conspiracy theories and white supremacy in the country.

Cohen admitted that he is “truly terrified – for the survival of democracy itself,” which is why he is speaking out against the “flood of hate, lies and conspiracies spewed by demagogues and spread by social media” that he says has reached a boiling point.

When filming Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the actor detailed the harrowing moments after he pranked a right-wing rally, masquerading as a singer who led attendees into a racist singalong.

“When organizers finally stormed the stage, I rushed to a nearby get-away vehicle. An angry crowd blocked our way and started pounding on the vehicle with their fists,” Cohen described. “Under my overalls, I was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it felt inadequate with some people outside toting semiautomatic weapons.”

The actor noted of a particularly harrowing moment when “someone ripped open the door to drag me out,” but he was fortunate enough to slam the door shut and escape.

“It would all be hilarious if it weren’t so dangerous,” The Golden Globe winner admitted, fully believing that this is America’s future if people don’t vote.

Cohen noted that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people are “especially vulnerable to lies and conspiracies” due to the uncertainty, which is why they are glomming onto dangerous theories like QAnon.

“Conspiracies are lethal—to our health and to our democracy,” the Bruno star warned. “The fate of U.S. democracy now rests with voters.”

Jim Carey's Joe Biden becomes The Fly in 'SNL' cold open; Maya Rudolph returns as Kamala Harris

No Comments Entertainment News

Will Heath/NBC(NEW YORK) — Saturday Night Live‘s cold open spoofed Wednesday’s vice presidential debate, with Maya Rudolph and SNL‘s Beck Bennett returning as Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence, respectively.  Jim Carrey’s Joe Biden also returned as the fly on Pence’s head.

“Mr. Vice President, I’m speaking,” Rudolph told Bennett, recreating one of the senator’s viral moments from the debate.

Responding to President Donald Trump’s claim that he downplayed the severity of the pandemic to keep America calm, Rudolph’s Harris declared, “How calm were you when you didn’t know where you were going to get your next roll of toilet paper?”

“How calm were you when you were staring at that cardboard tube when you finished the roll and thought, ‘Well it’s technically paper?’  And how calm were you when even that tube was gone and you looked at your old tee shirts and a pair of scissors and thought, ‘Are we doing this?’”

Harris’ much discussed facial expressions during the debate also came up in the sketch, with Rudolph smiling at Pence “like I’m in a TJ Maxx and a white lady asks me if I work here,” before switching to “more of a Clair Huxtable side-eye” and finally the way “every Black woman knows exactly what I’m thinking — and a few of the white women and all of the gays”

The fly that landed on Pence’s head also made an appearance, with Carrey’s Biden riffing on Jeff Goldblum’s portrayal of the titular character in the 1980s sci-fi movie The Fly.

He was later joined by cast member Kenan Thompson, appearing as a fly that turned out to be Herman Cain reincarnated.

Comedian Bill Burr hosted on Saturday, along with musical guest Jack White, replacing Morgan Wallen who was dropped from the show after breaking COVID-19 safety protocols.

It puts the mortgage in the basket: 'The Silence of the Lambs' house is for sale

No Comments Entertainment News

MGM(NEW YORK) — Looking for a new home?  There’s a charming, three-story Victorian-style home for sale about half-an-hour southeast of Pittsburgh.  It’s over 100 years old with beautiful, original hardwood floors, gorgeous ornate woodwork and nearly two acres of land.

And pay no mind to that dry well in basement, or all those moths flitting around.

That’s right — the Buffalo Bill house from The Silence of the Lambs is for sale.  And we are, of course, kidding about the moths, and the infamous well in the basement in which the Oscar-winning 1991 movie’s notorious serial killer imprisoned his victims.  The home at 8 Circle Street in Perryopolis, PA, does have a basement, but it’s completely ordinary.

The rest of the home is anything but, however.  The charming five-bedroom, one bath vintage property, located a stone’s throw from the Youghiogheny River, even features a swimming pool and a caboose — who doesn’t love a caboose? — with a detached three-car garage that used to be a general store.  All yours for a listing price of $298,500.

And if you’re remembering that in the movie, Buffalo Bill lived in Illinois, not Pennsylvania, you’re correct.  However, the film was shot primarily outside of Pittsburgh and in West Virginia.

Let’s hope the home finds a buyer faster than it did the last time it was offered for sale.  It reportedly sat on the market for about a year after it was last offered in 2015 for $300,000, before finally selling in 2016 for a substantially discounted $195,000.
