'The Bachelorette' recap: tempers flare as the battle for Tayshia's heart intensifies

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) On Tuesday’s episode of The Bachelorette, Tayshia found herself in the middle of bitter rivalry between two of the men and, if there wasn’t enough drama, a new threat emerged.

The episode began with Tayshia inviting Montel, Ivan, Demar, Ben, Chasen, Ed, Joe and Bennett on a group outing. They were later joined by Bachelor in Paradise alums, now husband and wife, Ashley I. and Jared, who put the men through a series of challenges to determine who among them were a “grown-a** man” and which was a “man-child.”

Bennett was declared the winner of the challenge while Ed, unfortunately, came up the loser.  He was forced to spend the rest of the day carrying around a baby doll as his punishment.

Tempers further flared at the after-party when Ed and Chasen became embroiled in a heated argument, with Ed accusing Chasen of using the competition to gain Instagram followers instead of finding true love.

Tayshia didn’t let their battle interfere with her romantic evening and handed Ivan the date rose.

Later, at the rose ceremony, Jay, Peter and Montel were the odd men out, much to the disappointment of the others, who would have preferred to see Ed and/or Chasen go home.

Instead, the two were part of another group date, along with Eazy, Brendan, Joe, Jordan, Spencer and Ben.

The guys were coached by former four-time Women’s Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Amy Dumas and current undefeated UFC fighter Tatiana Suarez through a series of wrestling drills in preparation for a match in front of the men not on the date.  Bachelor Nation favorite Wells Adams delivered the play-by-play with Chris Harrison.

The main ticket was supposed to have been between Ed and Chasen, but the former backed out of the challenge by claiming an old sports injury. Instead, Noah, who wasn’t even on the date to receive those wrestling pointers, stepped up to take Ed’s place and fight for Tayshia’s hand.

He lost to Chasen, but Noah’s act of chivalry, as well as his willingness to let Tayshia shave off his mustache, earned him the date rose.

The smooth move may have earned Noah points with Tayshia, but it only helped to cement his status as public enemy number one in the eyes of the other bachelors.

Here are the remaining men:

Ben, 29, an Army Ranger veteran from Venice, Calif.
Bennett, 36, a wealth management consultant from New York City, N.Y.
Blake Moynes, 29, a wildlife manager from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Brendan, 30, a commercial roofer from Milford, Mass.
Chasen, 31, an IT account executive from San Diego, Calif.
Demar, 26, a spin cycling instructor from Scottsdale, Ariz.
Eazy, 29, a sports marketing agent from Newport Beach, Calif.
Ed, 36, a health care salesman from Miami, Fla.
Ivan, 28, an aeronautical engineer from Dallas, Texas
Joe, 36, an anesthesiologist from New York City, NY
Kenny, 39, a boy band manager from Chicago, Ill.
Noah, 25, a registered travel nurse from Tulsa, OK
Spencer, a 30-year-old Water treatment engineer from La Jolla, California;
Riley, 30, an attorney from Long Island City, N.Y.
Spencer, 30, a Water treatment engineer from La Jolla, California
Zac C., 36, an addiction specialist from Haddonfield, N.J.

The Bachelorette returns Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Report: Harvey Weinstein ill, possibly infected with COVID-19

No Comments Entertainment News

Scott Heins/Getty Images)(LOS ANGELES) — Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is reportedly in isolation after spiking a fever of 101 degrees, among other troubling signs of illness.

TMZ reports that doctors believe the 68-year-old convicted sex offender may have been infected with COVID-19, telling the publication that he is “doing poorly.”

Weinstein was tested for the infectious virus on Tuesday and is currently awaiting results.  Should he test positive, he will be moved to the prison hospital for further monitoring.

Weinstein has several health conditions that has elevated his risk level, which could potentially complicate his recovery.

His team told TMZ that, “It should come as no surprise that Mr. Weinstein has numerous maladies and conditions including a heart condition, high blood pressure and spinal stenosis.”

“We are working with the NYSDOCCS and the excellent team at Wende CF to ensure Mr. Weinstein receives the proper medical attention he needs,” the statement continued.

In March, the former movie producer was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his convictions on rape and sexual assault.

Weinstein was sentence in New York to 20 years for criminal sexual assault for forcing oral sex on Miriam Haley.  That sentence was ordered to run consecutively with a three-year sentence for the third-degree rape of Jessica Mann.

It was announced last month by the LA County District Attorney that he now faces three new counts of rape and three new counts of forcible oral copulation involving the two women.

Overall, Weinstein faces an additional 11 sexual assault counts involving five women in California, which could add an additional 140 years to life in state prison, on top of his 23-year sentence.

An extradition hearing is set for December 11 in Buffalo.

People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2020 is: Michael B Jordan

No Comments Entertainment News

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Fans of Jimmy Kimmel Live! were left guessing — literally — over this year’s People‘s Sexiest Man Alive.  After some very specific questions from the audience, Kimmel broke the news that Michael B. Jordan is this year’s winner.

The 33-year-old Black Panther star — who famously caused a teenage fan to shatter her retainer when she clenched her jaw during his shirtless scene — was paraded out at the start of Tuesday’s show disguised in a smiling yellow hazmat suit.

The audience was challenged to figure out the Emmy nominee’s identity by asking him simple yes or no answers to answer.

The best question came from a woman named Tessie, who giggled, “Have you ever been in a romantic relationship with Taylor Swift?”

Jordan’s reply was equally hilarious and he deadpanned in return, “That’s pretty specific, but, no.”

Ultimately, a Los Angeles-based fan named Ashley put the clues together and shrieked with delight as Jordan stepped out of his clever disguise.

As for how the Creed star found out he was crowned People‘s Sexiest Man Alive, Jordan revealed to Kimmel that he was in the car with a friend when the announcement came.

“My publicist and my manager gives me a call,” he recalled. “They told me the news and it was a moment like, [bleep,] really? Me?!”

When speaking with People, Jordan called the honor “a cool feeling” but admitted that the women in his family are far more excited about the award than he can ever be.

“When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for,” he grinned.

Pulp fiction: Quentin Tarantino to write a 'Once Upon A Time…in Hollywood' book

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC News/Steve Iervolino(LOS ANGELES) — Oscar-winning screenwriter Quentin Tarantino is making his fiction-writing debut with a two-book deal, including a novel based on his Academy Award-winning film Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood.

The film, which netted a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Brad Pitt and a second screenwriting trophy for the filmmaker, will provide the inspiration for a movie novelization that will be published by HarperCollins.

A second book, Cinema Speculation, is being called a, “deep dive into the movies of the 1970’s…from one of cinema’s most celebrated filmmakers, and its most devoted fan.”

Set in 1969, Hollywood centered on a fading big screen star played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and his best friend and stunt double Cliff Booth, played by Pitt.

“In the seventies movie novelizations were the first adult books I grew up reading,” Tarantino said in a statement. “And to this day I have a tremendous amount of affection for the genre. So as a movie-novelization aficionado, I’m proud to announce Once Upon A Time…in Hollywood as my contribution to this often marginalized, yet beloved sub-genre in literature.”

He added, “I’m also thrilled to further explore my characters and their world in a literary endeavor that can (hopefully) sit alongside its cinematic counterpart.”

According to the publisher, the project, “will amplify Tarantino’s original award-winning vision, while also offering a fresh, playful and shocking departure from the film.”  The books will “chart the lives” of Dalton and Booth “both forward and backward in time,” says the publisher.

This isn’t the first time Once Upon A Time… has inspired a spin-off.  Tarantino has said in the past that he was writing episodes of Bounty Law, the fictional black-and-white Western series depicted in the movie.  In fact, he was eyeing a five-chapter series based on the show, in which DiCaprio’s character starred.

George Clooney talks marriage, lockdown & $1 million gifts to pals in 'GQ''s Man of the Year feature

No Comments Entertainment News

Jason Nocito/GQ(LOS ANGELES) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) Did George Clooney really give his best buds a million bucks in cash each?  The Oscar-winning actor and producer gets candid about that rumor and more in the cover story of GQ‘s new Man of the Year issue.

The answer about the cash, is yes.  The 59-year-old explains, “[O]ver a period of 35 years [they] helped me in one way or another. I’ve slept on their couches when I was broke…” he says of the 2013 gesture. “I just thought basically if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will. So why the f*** am I waiting to get hit by a bus?”

Clooney detailed the Ocean’s Eleven-like scene of picking up the cash in a florist truck, and later presenting a Tumi bag with $1 million bucks each to those 14 friends.

Not that his life’s without problems.  A head injury on the set of 2005’s Syriana left Clooney in so much pain he contemplated suicide.  Then in 2018, he suffered a serious motorcycle accident in Italy. As he and producing partner Grant Helsov waited for an ambulance, looky-loos were filming him on the pavement.

“I’m not a cynical guy,” Clooney says. “But I’ll never forget the moment that what I thought might be my last few moments was for everyone else a piece of entertainment.”

As a result of both incidents, Clooney’s been in “constant discomfort” for 15 years.

Like millions of us, Clooney’s been sheltering in place at home lately. “I cut my own hair and I cut my kids’ hair and I’m mopping it and vacuuming and doing the laundry,” he declares, adding, “I feel like my mother in 1964. You know, I understand why she burned her bra.”

And though once an avowed bachelor, Clooney says his marriage to human rights attorney Amal Clooney has changed his life. “I didn’t know how un-full it was until I met Amal,” he says.
