'The Bachelorette' recap: Tayshia chooses her final four suitors

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — Host Chris Harrison gathered some of the most unforgettable men from season 16 on Monday’s “The Men Tell All” episode of The Bachelorette, but first Tayshia had to make some tough decisions of her own — whose families will she meet for the hometown dates.

Hoping to gain some clarity on her relationship with Blake, Tayshia took him a crystal guru to have their crystals and chakras read.  Afterwards, she told him that she wished they had more time to get to know each other before confessing that didn’t think she could “get there” with him.  That led to an emotional goodbye that left Tayshia crouching on the ground in tears as she watched Blake being chauffeured off the resort.

Minutes later, a visibly shaken Tayshia paid the men a visit and pulled Riley away for a private conversation. That led to another gut-wrenching sendoff, as Tayshia explained that, knowing how much taking her to meet his family meant to him, she couldn’t put Riley through that experience if her heart wasn’t “one hundred percent” matching his.

“The longer I sit here, the longer I look at you, the longer I hear you talk, see you smile, the more pain I feel,” he replied stoically, “so, I’m gonna go now.”

Meanwhile, the suitors got an unwelcome surprise when Bennett, whom Tayshia had sent home last week, suddenly reappeared.  Bennett, as you recall, was sent packing following a two-on-one date with him and Noah, to settle the ongoing drama between them that disrupted the competition.

Bennett returned to the resort and paid a surprise late-night visit to the Bachelorette, during which allowed him to wiggle his way back into the competition by declaring his love for her.

That revelation was followed by another bombshell from Chris Harrison, who informed the guys that Tayshia opted to skip the cocktail party and move straight into the rose ceremony because she already decided on who to take to the hometown dates.

Bennett’s surprise return was short-lived, as Tayshia sent him and Noah home, nailing down the four men whose families she would meet.

They are:

Ben, 30, an Army veteran from Venice, Calif.
Brendan, 30, a commercial roofer from Milford, Mass.
Ivan, 28, an aeronautical engineer from Dallas, Tex.
Zac C., 36, an addiction specialist from Haddonfield, N.J.

The Bachelorette returns Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Gabrielle Union talks the "triggering" year of 2020 and why "Zaya's peace is non-negotiable"

No Comments Entertainment News

Facebook Watch(LOS ANGELES) — In the premiere episode of Taraji P. Henson’s new Facebook Watch show, Peace of Mind with Taraji, Henson and her best friend Tracie Jade spoke with Gabrielle Union as their first guest.

During the wide-ranging interview, which focused on the challenges of mental health, specifically in the Black community, Union shared how 2020 has been a triggering year for her because of politics and “a daily barrage of the brutalization of Black and brown bodies.”

Union says those PTSD triggers took on a physical form which she says felt like “a full body heart attack.”

“Usually my right arm starts to feel like it is going numb… the way you would imagine a heart attack, but in your knees, in your legs, in your arms, in your chest, in your eyeballs,” she said. “Trauma can take so many forms.”

During the candid conversation, Union also opened up about her thirteen-year-old stepdaughter Zaya‘s experience coming out as trans earlier this year.

“Zaya’s peace is non-negotiable,” Gabrielle said. “As Zaya gathered more language, she was able to tell us about her identity. She was able to tell us about her sexuality. She was able to tell us, ‘I’m trans.’ She says, ‘I’ve come out a few times. I came out to my teacher in third grade.”

Zaya, who’s the daughter of Gabrielle’s husband Dwyane Wade, also told Union she felt “outed” when the couple posted a photo of her at her birthday party in Chicago.

“And that picture was dissected on certain Black blogs, and the comments were the guessing as to who Zaya was and why,” Union explained.

The actress says she and Wade are still learning from Zaya.

“We only know what we know,” Union said. “You have to be open to embrace what we don’t know.”

"Feeling good! Shaved my head" – Jeff Bridges gives fans update amid cancer battle

No Comments Entertainment News

Randy Holmes/ABC via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Via his Twitter account and website, Jeff Bridges updated fans on the latest in his life since he announced in October he was battling Lymphoma.

Seen smiling as he’s resting on a hammock, with a furry friend in his lap, a bald-headed Bridges noted, “Feeling good! Shaved my head. Got a puppy – Monty. Had a birthday. 71, man.”

The Big Lebowski star turned 71 on December 4.

The Academy Award winner remains in good spirits, and even pointed fans to his site, where he tried to drum up the downloads for a musician friend of his, John Goodwin. Bridges said, “musicians are having a hell of a time making a living these days with the whole COVID deal.” He linked to some of Goodwin’s performances, and urged fans, “If you dig it, please support him with some moolah, some coinage, scratch, $, money…he can use the support!”

Bridges looked well, and with his shaved head, incidentally not unlike how he did in Iron Man 2, for which he shaved his head to play villain Obidiah Stane.

'The Office' heading exclusively to NBC's Peacock streaming platform

No Comments Entertainment News

Chris Haston/NBCU Photo Bank(LOS ANGELES) — Insert that gif of Steve Carell’s Michael Scott screaming “NO!” here — The Office is leaving Netflix…but it will be heading exclusively to NBC’s streaming platform Peacock in January.

In a press announcement designed to look like an inter-office memo from paper company Dunder Mifflin, the streaming service declared that The Office, a “documentary” containing “footage that was shot at Dunder Mifflin Scranton between 2005 and 2013,” will be coming to the platform.

All 201 episodes of the acclaimed sitcom will be moving to Peacock, along with “Superfan Episodes” containing never-before-seen footage, curated themed episodes, clip playlists, as well as “The Office Zen,” a 24/7 channel of ambient noise of the, “sights and sounds of an office for anyone working at home.”

And for another deep cut from the show, the memo from Dunder Mifflin’s onetime CEO David Wallace closes with a reference to the “unfortunate cartoon mouse/duck watermark fiasco from 2007.”

Peacock Premium will run you $9.99 a month; a less expensive commercials-included option costs $4.99/month.

The mob, including creator David Chase, and stars including Steve Buscemi, Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, Robert Iler, Drea de Matteo, Vincent Pastore, Steve Schirripa, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, will join together on December 18 for a virtual event benefiting Friends of Firefighters.  The charity was founded in the aftermath of 9/11 to support active and retired New York City firefighters and their families.

Incidentally, Steve Buscemi himself was once an NYFD fireman, and he spent hours volunteering on The Pile, the name for the Ground Zero site where the World Trade Center once stood, to aid recovery efforts for the 343 fire fighters that were killed on September 11, 2001.

The Sopranos aired for six seasons on HBO beginning in 1999 and won 21 Primetime Emmy Awards. A prequel film, The Many Saints of Newark, starring Michael Gandolfini as Tony Soprano, his late father James’ role, will hit theaters and HBO Max later this year.
