Jameela Jamil says COVID-19 "exposed" celebrities as "useless," details plan to leave Hollywood

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Image Group LA(LOS ANGELES) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) Jameela Jamil is so over Hollywood. So much so, that she’s planning her escape.

While chatting with Angela Scanton on the Thanks A Million podcast, Jamil, 34, expressed that she never wanted to be famous and that, in a few years, she would like to become a therapist specializing in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing or EMDR.

“I want to leave TV when I’m 40 entirely and become an EMDR therapist,” The Good Place actress explained. “And I might well f****** do that. I might just go away and become a therapist.'”

“Look at my career. It’s been one giant f***-it bucket. I was on TV, didn’t like being on TV because everyone was telling me I was dumb and good looking… So I was like ‘F*** this, I’m going to go where no one can see me. I’ll go on the radio,'” she explained. “After the radio, I was like ‘I want more. I want to try something new. I want to go and be a writer. I don’t even want to be famous anymore. I want to be a writer.'”

“And so I moved to America to go and do that, accidentally end up on a really massive show, turns out to be a global hit, which I didn’t expect,” she continued. “Now I’m moving on, writing my first book and producing my own content, and I started by own company.”

Additionally, Jamil said that celebrities have been “exposed” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think that celebrities have been exposed. We’re useless. Sorry we’re crap,” she laughed. “I’ve always thought we were crap so it’s been quite exciting to watch the rise of the people who are actually going to make a real difference in this world.”

Kristen Bell reveals the "most annoying" thing about husband Dax Shepard

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Rick Rowell(LOS ANGELES) — Kristen Bell admits that her life isn’t perfect and revealed the one thing husband Dax Shepard does that drives her up a wall.

Bell, 40, joined the Backstory with Jason Bentley podcast Tuesday and discussed why she doesn’t shy away from opening up about her life.

“Peace of mind with my own authenticity I think is the best way to describe it,” the Frozen series star admitted and credited her husband, whom she wed in 2013, for being the one who opened her up to the mindset.

That admission led her to disclose a bone of contention with Shepard, as she cheekily confessed, “What’s funny is… this is what I say is the most annoying part of my husband, he’s almost always right. When I say almost always, I mean like really almost always.”

“It’s so annoying,” quipped The Good Place alum, who went onto admit that Shepard also encouraged her to discuss her mental health when she began fearing she was becoming too monotonous in her interviews.  So, when a long-form interview came along, her husband pointed out that was the perfect opportunity to discuss that personal topic.

“My husband was like, ‘Yeah, talk about that,’ and I realized I had been presenting this like, bubbly individual, and it just wasn’t the full story,” said Bell, who says she suffers from depression and anxiety. “It didn’t have the dimension and I felt this sickening wave of fraudulence and inauthenticity, and I went on and I brought it up.”

Bell was also joined by psychologist Adam Grant on the podcast, who praised the actress for allowing herself to be publicly vulnerable.

“I want to be the person who talks honestly,” the actress said. “I’m going to start being who I want to be on my death bed.”

'On Watch What Happens Live', Kaley Cuoco didn't kiss and tell about dating Henry Cavill

Jay Maidment/Netflix — Colin Hutton/HBO Max(LOS ANGELES) — Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live usually gets celebrities to spill the tea, but when it comes to her brief romance with Henry Cavill, guest Kaley Cuoco didn’t kiss and tell.

The former Big Bang Theory actress and Superman’s alter ego dated in 2013.

Appearing remotely from home, Kaley was clearly caught off guard by a viewer question on the topic on last night’s installment. As relayed by WWHL host Andy Cohen, the fan asked if “The Man of Steel is really made of steel.”

“Oh my God!” a laughing Cuoco exclaimed, before demurring. “I don’t know,” the 35-year-old actress said. “I never say, ‘I don’t know.’ I always have an answer, but I don’t know.”

Cuoco, who currently stars on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, has been married to married equestrian Karl Cook since 2018.

HBO Max pulls 'Chappelle's Show' at Dave's request

No Comments Entertainment News

Mathieu Bitton/Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — HBO Max is honoring a request by Dave Chappelle to remove Chappelle’s Show from the streaming service at the end of this year, according to Variety

The comedian previously got Netflix to take the show down as well.

In a lengthy Instagram video taken from his stand-up, Chappelle explained that due to the nature of the deal he signed years ago when the show was made, “I found out that these people were streaming my work and they never had to ask me or they never have to tell me”.

In the video he captioned “This is why,” Chappelle explained of his previous contract with Comedy Central, “I signed the contract the way a 28-year-old expecting father who was broke signed the contract. I was desperate, I needed a way out…’What else am I gonna do?’ he recalled asking himself,” comparing the contract to the scam game Three Card Monty.

Chappelle went on to explain that before Comedy Central signed him, HBO turned Chappelle’s Show down — “They said literally: ‘What do we need you for?’ And here we are, all these years later, and [HBO Max is] streaming the very show that I was pitching them. So I ask them: ‘What do you need me for?'”

The official Whitney Houston biopic has found its star…in a 'Star Wars' sequel actress

No Comments Entertainment News

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images(LONDON) — I Wanna Dance with Somebody, the official biopic of Whitney Houston, has found somebody to dance with: British actress Naomi Ackie will play the late superstar in the movie.

According to Deadline, the project’s director, Stella Meghie said in a statement, “We spent the better part of the last year in an exhaustive search for an actress who could embody Whitney Houston. Naomi Ackie impressed us at every stage of the process. I was moved by her ability to capture the stage presence of a global icon while bringing humanity to her interior life.”

Ackie was most recently seen in Education, the fourth installment of Steve McQueen’s Amazon Prime Video anthology series Small Axe.  Last year, she appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, playing Jannah, the former Stormtrooper-turned-Resistance fighter who, at the end of the film, goes off with Lando Calrissian in a quest to discover more about her background.

Ackie also won a BAFTA — the British version of the Oscars — for her role as Bonnie in the second series of the Netflix series The End Of The F***Ing World.

As previously reported, the movie, which is being made with the blessing of Whitney’s estate, is being written by Oscar-nominee Anthony McCarten, who also wrote the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.  Whitney’s mentor, Clive Davis, is one of the producers, as is her manager and sister-in-law, Pat Houston.

The movie will feature all of Whitney’s legendary hits, and is targeted to open in theaters Thanksgiving of 2022.
