“Deadpool 2” – TM & © 2018 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. All Rights Reserved.(LOS ANGELES) — It’s official! Deadpool 3 is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the motor-mouthed mercenary won’t be holding his tongue.

In an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, confirmed not only that work on the third installment is underway, but also that it will be a part of the MCU.

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now,” he shared, adding that Ryan Reynolds, who stars as Deadpool, is “overseeing a script right now.”

“It will not be [filming] this year… but it’s exciting for it to have begun,” he continued. “Again, a very different type of character in the MCU and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Feige also confirmed what ABC Audio had previously reported: Emmy Award-winning sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux — who have written for the animated comedy Bob’s Burgers since 2012 — are also working on the script.

Deadpool 3 is expected to film in 2022, at the earliest, reports Collider.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

"Guess who runs Hollywood?" 24-year-old Zendaya, says 'GQ'

No Comments Entertainment News

Tyrell Hampton(LOS ANGELES) — Zendaya is one of the Hollywood’s busiest and brightest young stars, which earned her the February cover of GQ Magazine, titled, Guess Who Runs Hollywood Now?”

When the world paused in March during the peak of COVID-19, Zendaya began picking up new skills such as painting watercolor figures in a “journal-book” gifted to her by her Euphoria co-star, Hunter Schafer.

The Emmy-winning actress admitted she’s done some soul-searching to discover what’s outside of her successful career.

“It was my first time just being like, ‘Okay, who am I without this?’ Which is a very scary thing to confront and work through, because I don’t really know Zendaya outside of the Zendaya who works,” she explains to the mag. “I didn’t realize how much my job and my art were a part of my identity as a human.”

She recalls calls to Euphoria co-creator Sam Levinson to discuss creating a film to document the confines of quarantine, hence her upcoming Netflix film, Malcolm and Marie.

The black-and-white film, which was shot under strict COVID-19 safety protocols within two weeks last June, follows Zendaya as Marie and John David Washington as Malcolm: a Hollywood couple who return home after a “celebratory movie premiere” to address their relationship issues.

“[Marie] gave me an opportunity to use these words in a way,” says Zendaya about what drew her to the role. “I don’t yell. I’m not a very argumentative person, but it’s nice to just release and be able to…I don’t know… I guess emote would be the word? To just use her as this vessel to just get [stuff] out that maybe I had pent up or hadn’t said.”

Malcolm and Marie arrives February 5. But not before a special episode of HBO’s Euphoria, which airs January 24.

Today, don't stifle yourself: Wish 'All in the Family' a happy 50th anniversary!

No Comments Entertainment News

Ron Eisenberg/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — January 12 marks the 50th anniversary of one of TV’s most groundbreaking shows: All in the Family

Based on the British sitcom Till Death Us Do Part, producer Norman Lear’s series focused on the bigoted, intolerant Archie Bunker.  A loading dock foreman from Queens, NY, he regularly clashed with his liberal daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Mike, aka “Meathead,” on the social issues of the day, while his “dingbat” wife, Edith, ran interference.

All in the Family ran from 1971-79, winning 22 Emmys. Here are five fascinating facts about the show that’s considered one of the greatest in TV history.

5) All in the Family holds the record for having the most spin-offs for a prime-time TV series, with seven — the hits Maude, The Jeffersons, Good Times and Archie Bunker’s Place, plus Gloria, 704 Hauser and Checking In.

4) All in the Family was the first sitcom in which all of the lead actors — Caroll O’Connor, Jean Stapleton, Sally Struthers and Rob Reiner — won Primetime Emmy Awards.  Only three others have done so: The Golden Girls, Will and Grace and Schitt’s Creek.

3) A longer version of the show’s memorable theme song, “Those Were the Days,” with additional lyrics, was released as a single, and reached number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972.  And did you know that the show’s instrumental ending theme, “Remembering You,” actually has lyrics, written by Carroll O’Connor himself?  By the way, that one lyric that you probably never understood in the opening theme is “Gee, our old LaSalle ran great,” referring to a long-defunct make of automobile.

2) All in the Family was the first major American TV series to be videotaped in front of a live studio audience; no laugh track was ever used.  Due to its success, videotaping sitcoms in front of a live audience became the industry standard.

1) The chairs that Archie and Edith sat in during All in the Family’s run only cost a few dollars at a Goodwill store — but they’re now on display in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Chadwick Boseman's widow honors late actor in moving Gotham Awards acceptance speech

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(NEW YORK) — Chadwick Boseman was honored at the 2021 IFP Gotham Awards, which were held Monday night in New York City.

Variety reports Boseman was honored throughout the night in acceptance speeches from co-star Viola Davis, Sound of Metal‘s Riz Ahmed who took home Best Actor, and director André Holland who worked with Boseman on the Jackie Robinson biopic 42.

A video tribute also played that highlighted the late actor’s most prolific work.

The most emotional speech came from Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, who tearfully accepted the Actor Tribute Award on her husband’s behalf.

“As an artist, an actor, and a person, Chad made a practice of telling the truth.  He is the most honest person I’ve ever met,” said Ledward. “Because he didn’t just stop at speaking the truth, he actively searched for it—in himself, in those around him and in the moment.”

“And so, it became how he lived his life, day in, day out. Imperfect, but determined,” she added, saying his mantra allowed him to live his life to the fullest every day and “be totally present in his own life and the lives of the people he became.”

“He realized when one is able to recognize that their strength does not come from themself, they rarely mess up,” said Ledward. “That’s what he was doing when he was acting. Not merely telling a story or reading lines off a page, but modeling for us a path of true fulfillment.”

She ended her speech with, “Chad, thank you. I love you. I am so proud of you. Keep shining your light on us.”

The Black Panther star died after a years-long, private battle with colon cancer at the age of 43 last August.
