“I was in a wheelchair. I had to wait in the ER,” Gosselin tells Dr. Mehmet Oz in a sneak peak of Thursday’s The Dr. Oz Show posted on the syndicated program’s official Twitter page.

“[The ER] was packed…and then they put me on a gurney and put me in the hallway in the waiting room, so I could get a temporary room, and then once they evaluated me and once they drew my blood and did all my blood work, all of a sudden I’m getting antibiotics, steroids and a plasma antibody transfusion for COVID,” he recalls. “It happened really fast.”

Adds the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, “And then they moved me…up to…a more permanent room, and then I just remember sleeping…It was just surreal.”

Sarah Jessica Parker on replacing Kim Cattrall in 'Sex and the City' revival, "It's not quite as black and white as that"

Richard Corkery/NY Daily News Archive via Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Ever since it was announced that Sex and the City would be getting a revival, there’s been one question on fans minds: How will they handle Kim Cattrall’s absence?

Some wondered if the upcoming reboot, titled And Just Like That, would find a character to replace Cattrall’s iconic character Samantha Jones, but it appears that won’t be the case.

When asked by a TMZ cameraman, Sarah Jessica Parker, who portrayed the lead role of Carrie Bradshaw in the original series and its two films, she replied, “It’s not quite as black and white as that.”

“We’re not looking to create a fourth character,” she explained. “We have New York City as a fourth character. There’ll be lots of interesting new characters that we’re excited about.”

Parker added that she’s also excited about getting back to work with her fellow women co-stars which would include Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, who are set to reprise their roles as Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes.

On Sunday, the trio announced the exciting news that the HBO sitcom, which ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004, would be making a comeback by sharing a short video clip to social media. Cattrall noticeably did not post which led fans to speculate what happened.

On Parker’s Instagram post one fan alleged, “They dislike each other,” to which Parker commented, “No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would. Samantha isn’t part of this story,” she wrote. “But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”

The ten-episode, half-hour series And Just Like That is scheduled to begin production in New York in late spring, HBO Max says.

Jeopardy! Productions(LOS ANGELES) — When Jeopardy! all-time champ and consulting producer Ken Jennings’ run as temporary host of the quiz show wraps up, there’s an all-star line-up ready to fill his shoes.

Jeopardy! Productions has announced that journalist Katie Couric will take a turn behind the podium, as will The Big Bang Theory vet and real-life neuroscientist Mayim Bialik, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and 60 Minutes mainstay Bill Whitaker.

A donation will be made to the charity of each host’s choice in exchange for their participation.

Before the just-announced guests succeed Jennings, Jeopardy! Productions announced that the show’s longtime executive producer, Mike Richards, will step in front of the camera as host for two weeks’ worth of the pre-recorded shows.

In a statement, Richards said, “Alex was a legend, revered by all of us. I want to thank our guest hosts, who will not only help all of us celebrate his great legacy, but also bring their own touch to the show.”

Jennings was the first person to fill in for Alex Trebek, who died last year of pancreatic cancer, and will host six weeks’ worth of shows.  A permanent successor for Trebek has yet to be announced.

'The Connors' star Sara Gilbert on safely returning to set, "It's been a lot of testing"

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — TV and film production in Los Angeles has been shut down for the most part, because of the latest COVID-19 surge. But some shows are getting back to work, like The Conners, who went back to set Tuesday.

Executive producer and star Sara Gilbert tells ABC Audio they’re being really careful.

“I would say we feel safe, but not too safe because we want to stay really vigilant and try to keep everybody healthy,” the 45-year-old actress explains. “It wouldn’t be good for me to feel too safe because then I wouldn’t be protecting everybody.”

“We’re all taking a lot of care, as much care as we can,” she adds.

The Connors, which is a continuation spin-off of the dramedy Roseanne, is currently filming the tail end of its third season and Gilbert shares that there’s “a lot of protocols” and “a lot of testing” taking place to make sure that, if a crew member contracted the novel coronavirus, it doesn’t spread.

Still, that didn’t make the decision to return to set any easier.

“It’s been a lot of discussions, discussion with experts,” she says. “It’s been a lot of testing to see where cast and crew is at and how people are doing. And, you know, we wear bracelets to monitor how close people get to each other. Just sort of a lot of things like that that we are hopeful that we can do it safely.”

Even with all these safety measures in place, Gilbert is not naive to the fact that things could change at a moment’s notice.

“We’re staying in the moment and seeing what happens,” she admits. “I can say we’re going to work… but if something changes… then we won’t be.”

The Connors airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Betty White reveals how she plans to celebrate her 99th birthday

No Comments Entertainment News

ROBYN BECK/AFP via Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Betty White turns 99 on Sunday, January 17, and she already knows exactly how she’s going to celebrate it.

The Golden Girls alum admits the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic put a wrench in her plans, but claims she found something way better to do.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, the three-time Emmy Award-winning actress jokingly brought up her birthday plans first.

“You probably didn’t ask, but I’ll tell you anyway,” said White. “What am I doing for my birthday? Running a mile each morning has been curtailed by COVID, so I am working on getting The Pet Set re-released.”

The Pet Set was a 31-episode syndicated series that White hosted in 1971, which was produced by her late husband Allen Ludden.  White would invite celebrity guests like Doris Day, Vincent Price and Della Reese — and their pets — onto her show to chat about all things animals, including wildlife preservation.

White’s love of animals continues to this day. The actress further revealed who she intends to spend her 99th birthday with, saying she will also be “feeding the two ducks who come to visit me every day.”

The Pet Set, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will be re-released on DVD and on streaming platforms on February 23, reports ET.

White adds in a press release, “The Pet Set is one of my favorite shows” and that she is “thrilled it’s going to be seen again after all these years.”
