What? Regé-Jean Page won't return for second season of 'Bridgerton'

No Comments Entertainment News

Netflix(LONDON) — Sorry, Regé-Jean Page fans: Bridgerton‘s resident hunk, who plays the Duke of Hastings, will not be back for season two of the binge-worthy Netflix series.

The news was revealed via a tweet from, naturally, the show’s omniscient society gossip writer, Lady Whistledown.  “Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings. We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family,” the missive begins.

“Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer — more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear,” concludes the message, which is titled “Your Grace, it has been a pleasure.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Page only had a one-season contract, and the sophomore season was always intended to focus on Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton.

For his part, Page just posted to his Instagram a dapper photo of himself on horseback, tipping his hat to the camera. “The ride of a life time [sic]” he wrote.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family – not just on screen, but off screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans – it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined,” the actor noted.

“The love is real and will just keep growing,” he concluded.

With Page now freed of his contractual obligation, will he trade his frilly frock for James Bond’s tux, as has been rumored? Stay tuned.

"Different times": Elizabeth Perkins says sexy scene in 'Big' would never fly today

No Comments Entertainment News

20th Century-Fox/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — (NOTE CONTENT) In 1988’s Big, actor David Moscow played Josh, a 12-year-old kid who makes a wish and turns into his much-older self, played by Tom Hanks.

In his “big” form, the Penny Marshall-directed movie has him moving to the big city, scoring a job with a toy company, and scoring with Elizabeth Perkins’ much older character, who at the time doesn’t know he’s actually 12.

“[T]hey wouldn’t have shown that at all [these days]” Perkins tells Page Six. “I think we’re in a different time,” adding, “I’m totally on board with that.”

About the scene, the actress, currently starring in Fox’s The Moodys, recalls, “We don’t see them having sex but…I take my shirt off and he touches my breast, then we cut to the elevator door opening and he’s got a big smile on his face. We never say, ‘Oh they slept together,’ but they definitely fooled around.”

Whether the body-swap sexy scene was appropriate or not “was not even a consideration of ours at the time…on any level,” the actress admits. “Different times.”

Perkins also explained that both Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford were first considered for the older-Josh role in Big, but Marshall, who died in 2018, was having “trouble” getting it to work.

“Then when Tom came on board it all just cemented,” Perkins said. “We knew we were going to be better than the other body-changing movies [at the time] because of Penny and Tom.”

The family comedy The Moodys airs Thursdays as 9:30 p.m. on Fox.

John Lamparski/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Neil Patrick Harris is celebrating the 17th anniversary of his “Best. Decision. Ever,” when he and husband David Burtka went on their first date.

The couple, who wed in 2014 and share 10-year-old twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, had a lot to say about the date that sparked their long-lasting romance.

Sharing a selfie of the two enjoying a boat ride, Harris, 47, gushed in the caption, “Happy anniversary, David. You are my top priority, my constant inspiration, my baby daddy, and my best friend.”

“Going on a date with you seventeen years ago? Best. Decision. Ever,” he adoringly declared. “Thanks for the love, and the laughs, and the life. You’re the best.”

The How I Met Your Mother star wasn’t the only one feeling emotional about the romantic milestone, Burtka also took to Instagram to honor his marriage.

Sharing a tender black and white photo of the two, Burtka captioned, “We started dating 17 years ago today! WOW- the best 17 years yet!”

“You have given me the life I have dreamed of. I am constantly amazed at your parenting skills, how hard you work to provide for our family, how much we still laugh, that we haven’t lost ‘it’ in the romantic department,” he furthered, “and most importantly that we are still madly in love.”

Burtka, 45, then revealed that there was one thing spoiling their big day, closing out with, “I am sorry we can’t be together today. I can’t wait to celebrate when you are home. I love you with all my heart.”

The two met in 2004 and previously revealed to Out magazine that their first date was seeing the movie Taking Lives starring Angelina Jolie.

Harris came out publicly in 2006 and, the following year, said “Yes” when Burtka proposed.

After naked intruder arrested for breaking into Kendall Jenner's home, suspect targets Kylie Jenner's house

L-R Kylie, Kendall Jenner — Kevin Tachman/MG19/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue(LOS ANGELES) — After reports claimed that Kendall Jenner has fled her Beverly Hills home after a man broke into her mansion and attempted to swim naked in her pool, the reality star has filed a restraining order for continued stalking.

TMZ reports that the man, identified as 27-year-old Shaquan King, was arrested Sunday for breaking into Jenner’s home in the early morning hours and making it past her armed security team.  King allegedly knocked on windows and began calling for her before stripping naked to swim in her pool.

Jenner was reportedly home at the time and was taken to a secure room.

He was apprehended by security who then called police.

King was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing and, because of ongoing COVID-19 safety measures, was incarcerated for six hours before being released.

Unfortunately, King did not learn his lesson even though Jenner successfully filed a protective order against him.

A day after his arrest, the suspect showed up at Kylie Jenner’s house on Tuesday and was arrested again, this time for felony stalking.

Kylie and Kendall have since requested restraining orders that mandate King must stay 100 yards away from them at all times.

According to court documents, King has a rap sheet that allegedly includes kidnapping charges.  In addition, the suspect allegedly had photos of Kendall on his social media pages.

In light of the incident, Kendall has reportedly abandoned her Beverly Hills mansion and has no intention to return, even after beefing up her security.

Mike Pont/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — (NOTE LANGUAGE, CONTENT) Teen Wolf star Arden Cho revealed in an emotional post that a man threatened to kill her while she was out walking her dog.

Cho, who played Kira Yukimura in the popular MTV drama, took to Instagram to beg her followers to “please help” the Asian community, which is grappling with a sharp increase of becoming victims of hate crimes.

In a black and white infographic, Cho started off the post by revealing what her would-be attacker allegedly screamed at her, which was “I’m going to motherf***ing kill you ch*** and your f***ing dog.”

“This along with other obscenities were screamed at me when I was outside walking with my dog last night.  I haven’t been this scared in years, he was a couple feet away & started coming toward me,” the 35-year-old actress recalled. “I grabbed Chewy and ran as fast as I could.”

Cho said she is “still shaking” because of the incident and explained that, in the wake of the increased attacks against Asian Americans, she stopped running at night.

“I still have to walk my dog, so I carry a knife when we go out at night,” she admitted. “I know how to fight but I still don’t feel safe.”

Despite her health and physical fitness, Cho lamented, “I shouldn’t be scared but I am.”

The Honor List star also revealed that she was attacked when she was a child, saying she was 10 when she was “kicked in the face till I was unconscious and hospitalized.”

Cho touched upon the trauma of watching “our elders get beaten & killed” and made a direct plea with her fans, begging, “Please, please #StopAsianHate I can’t breathe.”

Anti-Asian hate crimes have increased in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Stop AAPI Hate.
