Ice-T reflects on how he went from robbing banks as troubled youth to starring on 'Law & Order: SVU'

No Comments Entertainment News

NBC/Virginia Sherwood(NEW YORK) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) Ice-T just marked his 22nd year playing NYPD Sergeant Finn on the NBC drama Law & Order: SVU.  The actor says he still counts his blessings, saying he was a troubled youth who used to run from police who now plays a respected officer on screen.

Speaking Monday on Straight Up Steve Austin, Ice-T exclaimed, “Playing a police! How the f***?”

“I went on the show to do four episodes, man. Here it is, we’re starting the 22nd season. I can’t really explain it,” the rapper furthered, who says he loves what he does.  “It’s fun because of the work environment.”

Ice T, whose real name is Tracy Lauren Marrow, shared a story about how he bonded with the cast and crew — admitting that he had a rough time fitting in at first.

“When I first got on the show I was with Richard Belzer. And I was there for about three months and they were like, ‘Well, Ice, you’re not bonding with the group.’ Meaning I guess they didn’t think I was gonna go out to lunch with them and all that. I was just saying my lines,” he reminisced.

Ice-T, 62, explained how he changed his dynamic with stars Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Dann Florek and Belzer, revealing, “I said ‘I used to rob banks. I don’t need to like you guys.'”

“‘I just need to know you know how to drive, you know how to control the room, you know how to go in the safe, you know how to listen to the radio. Guess what? After we rob some banks, we’ll be the best f****** friends in the world,'” the Grammy winner recalled telling them, which was a breakthrough conversation because “We’ve been robbing the bank for 22 years!”

Gwyneth Paltrow's infamous candle allegedly exploded in woman's house

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LONDON) — (NOTE CONTENT) One British woman who was able to get her hands on one of Gwyneth Paltrow’s infamous “This Smells Like My ******” candles now regrets ever lighting it — not because of the scent, but because it caused a fiery explosion in her own home.

British publication The Sun reports that the candle caused a literal “inferno” in customer Jody Thompson’s living room.

Thompson, 50, says she won the suggestively-named candle on an online quiz and lit it when it arrived.  Instead of being met with “funny, gorgeous and beautifully unexpected scents,” as touted by the Goop store — she watched in horror as nearly two-foot flame erupted from the wick.

“The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere,” Thompson told The Sun and provided photos of the extremely charred remains of the product.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room,” she continued. “We eventually got it under control and threw it out the front door.”

Thompson, who lives with partner David Snow in the North London area of Kilburn, adds that “It could have burned the place down.”

“It was scary at the time, but funny looking back that [the] candle exploded in my living room,” she added.

While reviews of the suggestively-named candle have mostly focused on its scent and name itself, this is one of the first reports of an explosion of any kind.

Paltrow has yet to respond to Thompson’s claims.

The candle retails for $75 on the Goop website.

Vin Diesel marks 20 years of 'The Fast and the Furious'

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — The Fast and the Furious celebrates its 20th anniversary this summer and Vin Diesel kicked off the celebration a little early.

Over the weekend, the 53-year-old action star honored the first installment of the wildly successful franchise by sharing a throwback snap of him and co-star Michelle Rodriguez, who played his character’s on-screen love interest, Letty Ortiz.

Diesel, who plays protagonist Dom Toretto, simply captioned the throwback, “20 year anniversary…Happy Creative… All love.”

The Fast and the Furious debuted in theaters on June 22, 2001 and earned a whopping $207.3 million during its box office run.

The movie, which also starred the late Paul Walker, went onto spawn a massive media franchise consisting of nine previously filmed movie continuations, two future feature-length continuations and three spinoffs — such as Hobbes & Shaw.

As the franchise grew, it added more star power to its family, such as Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Charlize Theron, Tyrese Gibson, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel and many others.

F9, as the latest ninth installment is called, is due to premiere in theaters on May 28, 2021.

The last Furious film to hit theaters was 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, which racked up a jaw-dropping $1.236 billion during its run in the box office.  The movie, which is the eleventh highest-grossing movie of all time, held the title the highest-grossing worldwide opening before Avengers: Infinity War was released in 2018.

'The Bachelor' recap: A night of drama ends with a shocking departure

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — On Monday’s episode of The Bachelor, the drama around Sarah continued to build, creating a tense friction that eventually led to her sudden her departure.

Monday’s episode picked up where last week’s left off — with Matt interrupting the rose ceremony to assist Sarah, whose had an anxiety attack because she had difficulty seeing him with other women. However, the other women viewed Sarah’s fainting episode as a ploy to grab Matt’s attention.

As one drama was unfolding, another came to a quick end, as Matt settled the spat between Victoria and Marylynn by sending the latter packing.

Next, Victoria joined Rachael, Bri, Lauren, Kit, Serena C., Khaylah, Anna, Kaili and Katie for a steamy group date, featuring Bachelor Nation favorite Ashley Iaconetti Haibon, who offered the women a chance to write their own hot love scenes with Matt and read them in front of a live audience comprised of the other ladies.

Not surprisingly, Katie — the woman who spent the premiere episode waving around an adult toy — had Matt and all the other ladies blushing with her graphic depiction of how a night with her and Matt would go.  The audience was also shocked, but not surprised, by Victoria’s extremely X-rated account of her dream date with Matt.

Rachael walked off with the date rose, but the night was really all about about Sarah, whose increasing need for validation led her to crash the after party and put her at the center of a firestorm.

Sarah’s attempt to apologize to the other women — some of whom didn’t get to talk to Matt — fell on deaf ears, as they became even more suspicious of Sarah’s motives.

Following a romantic one-on-one date that saw Serena P., deepen her relationship with Matt and walk off with the date rose, the drama between Sarah and the women escalated when a second attempt to offer up an apology for her actions was met with more anger and hostility.

Katie, upset by the group’s response to Sarah’s apology, reached out to the 24-year-old and the two engaged in an emotional conversation.  There, Sarah admitted she felt a need to leave the competition to be with her dad, whose battle with ALS had left him with “maybe weeks” to live.  Katie, who lost her father in 2012, felt Sarah’s pain and supported her decision.

Matt, who clearly had feelings for Sarah, also understood her decision, though it left him devastated.

The outcome left the women breathing a sigh of relief, but this is The Bachelor, so there’s even more drama ahead as a new group of suitors will be joining them next week.  Here are the remaining women after Monday night:

Abigail, 25, a client financial manager from Beaverton, Ore.
Anna, 24, a copywriter from Chicago, Ill.
Bri, 24, a communications manager from San Francisco, Calif.
Chelsea, 28, a runway model from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Jessenia, 27, a social media marketer from San Antonio, Texas
Kaili, 26, a hostess from Chicago, Ill.
Katie, 29, a bank marketing manager from Renton, Wash.
Khaylah, 28, a healthcare advocate from Durham, N.C.
Kit, 21, a fashion entrepreneur from New York City, N.Y.
Lauren, 29, a corporate attorney from Miami, Fla.
Mari, 24, a marketing director from Odenton, Md.
MJ, 23, a hairstylist from Hudson, Ohio
Pieper, 23, a graduate student from Happy Valley, Ore.
Rachael, 24, a graphic designer from Cumming, Ga.
Serena C., 24, a flight attendant from San Francisco, Calif.
Victoria, 27, a queen from Los Angeles, Calif.

The Bachelor returns Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas reportedly call it quits

No Comments Entertainment News

MEGA/GC Images(LOS ANGELES) — Ben Affleck’s much-covered relationship with Bond girl Ana de Armas is reportedly over.

That’s what a source is telling E! News, reportedly adding that the break-up is amicable. “Both of them have completely full lives in a good way,” the source says. “There will always be that love.”

The pair confirmed their dating status 10 months ago, when de Armas’ Instagram captured pictures of the pair vacationing in her native Cuba together; a trip that also included seeing the sights in Costa Rica.

De Armas, 32, will be seen next in the James Bond film No Time To Die, which — so far — is scheduled for an April 2 release. Oscar winner Affleck, 48, will soon be tackling the adaptation of a best-selling young adult fantasy series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, for ABC News’ parent company Disney. He’ll also be seen in March as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming “Snyder cut” of Justice League on HBO Max.
