No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Byron Cohen(NEW YORK) — Jersey Shore‘s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is five years sober.  The reality star celebrated his latest milestone over the weekend, revealing that he officially marked half a decade of sobriety last month.

“BDS has been through some situations in life, addiction being one of them,” Sorrentino, 38, penned in an emotional Instagram post, “I have grown a lot as an individual, overcome a lot of obstacles, and one of my proudest moments so far has been celebrating 5 years of continuous sobriety this past December.”

The Dancing with the Stars alum also shared an image of the special token his treatment center created to mark the occasion.

“Receiving my 5 year medallion made me feel like I won a gold medal, and it is a badge I am honored to wear,” he gushed before revealing why he decided to open up about his journey to sobriety.

“I share my journey of addiction, because it is so important to break the stigma of addiction. People are suffering out there because they are afraid to speak out about needing help,” said Sorrentino. “If I can help just one person find their voice, I know it was all worth it!”

The reality star also issued words of encouragement to those who know someone struggling with addiction by assuring them they are not alone and can be instrumental in helping their loved one get the help they need.

“If you or someone you know are struggling with addiction or mental health issues, don’t be afraid to ask for help. If I can do this I know you can too,” he closed and provided his treatment center’s contact information in hopes that the person who calls it will “start the journey of the rest of your life.”

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — Kourtney Kardashian has reportedly been on the heavily tattooed arm of drummer Travis Barker.

E! News reports that the reality star and the Blink-182 member and busy music collaborator have been friends for years, but have taken their relationship to the next level by “casually dating” since December.

An insider tells E!, “It’s been very low-key. They are a really good match, and Kourtney’s entire family already loves Travis. They have been neighbors and great friends for years, and it just recently turned romantic.”

The insider dishes that Barker has always been interested in Kourtney, and the two “have a lot in common.” Apparently, the fact that Barker’s such a good dad makes him attractive to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

“He’s an amazing, hands-on dad, and Kourtney loves that about him,” claims the insider. “They love relaxing at home with their kids, and everyone gets along. It’s going well, and they aren’t putting pressure on it being super serious at this point.”

Barker has two children with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler hile Kourtney has three kids with Scott Disick, from whom she split in 2015.

Ryan Reynolds hilariously reflects on his "A"-list stint on 'Sesame Street'

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Lou Rocco(NEW YORK) — A little over a decade ago, Ryan Reynolds guest starred on Sesame Street.  A fan re-watching the beloved children’s series with his family reminded the Deadpool star of the time he dressed as the letter “A” and created a special problem-solving team comprised of Elmo, Abby and Telly Monster.

The fan shouted out the Canadian actor on Twitter by writing Sunday, “Watching a little @sesamestreet with the kiddo, and its an episode with @VancityReynolds and the gang doing an A-Team gag.”

Continued the fan, who also shared snapshots of Ryan dressed as a giant blue A, “Its a delight, for both me and the kiddo.”

As it turns out, Reynolds remembers his time playing games with his Muppet friends quite fondly, but admitted in a hilarious response that he ran into some problems on set.

“I remember how challenging it was to sing because the A-hole was so tight,” the 44-year-old actor jokingly confessed. “But I pushed through because kids all over the country were counting on me.”

Ryan Reynolds’ Sesame Street episode, called “A Team,” aired on November 5, 2010, where he starred as Big A and invites Elmo, Abby and Telly Monster to join his special organization, the A Team, which solves problems using words that start with the letter A.

The four also parodied the A-Team intro during their gag.

Budweiser skipping Super Bowl ads, will put ad dollars to COVID-19 vaccine awareness

No Comments Entertainment News

Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser(MISSOURI) — For the first time in nearly four decades, Budweiser — the brand that gave us the “Wasssaaaap!” commercials and those name-croaking frogs — won’t be advertising during the Super Bowl.

Instead, Anheuser-Busch is using its Super Bowl ad dollars to support the COVID-19 vaccine.

In a commercial called “Bigger Picture,” Budweiser skips the usual beauty shots of beer and babes. As “Lean on Me” plays in the background, the ad shows somber scenes of Americans coping with life amid the pandemic.

“The thing about America is we can do anything,” the voiceover declares. “We can turn rooftops into mountaintops…We can turn boundaries into common ground…We can turn screentime into playtime.”

“Together,” the narration concludes, “Let’s turn our strength into hope.”

A title card then reads, “For the first time in 37 years, Budweiser will not air a Super Bowl ad. Instead, we are redirecting our advertising dollars to raise awareness of the COVID-19 vaccines…by joining forces with The Ad Council and COVID-19 Collaborative.”

The text ends with, “See you at the game next year.”

Anheuser-Busch will still run Super Bowl ads for Bud Light and Michelob Ultra, as well as for those brands’ respective spiked seltzers.

Audi and Coca-Cola are among other companies that have already announced they’re skipping advertising during the Super Bowl, because of pandemic-battered bottom lines.

in addition to changes in advertising, the pandemic will see other changes to the Big Game. When the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on February 7, just 22,000 people will be allowed to watch the game in person — about a third of the normal capacity of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
