Dale Moss says "there's no one person to blame" for ending engagement with 'Bachelorette' star Clare Crawley

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — Bachelorette alum Dale Moss is setting the record straight about ending his engagement with fiancee Clare Crawley.

The former NFL star took to his Instagram stories Monday and opened up about his heartbreak, saying he now feels more “comfortable” talking about it.

After taking “some time to process everything,” Moss began, he explained that he’s been forcing a smile ever since ending things with Clare.

“This time has sucked, and thank God that I have the friends and the family that I have, because they’ve literally had to carry me through the last two-plus weeks,” he continued.  “Building a relationship in general is tough — especially when you’re doing it in the public eye.”

“Media will take things and run with them. People will spread lies or always want to point a finger, but the fact of the matter is, there’s no one person to blame in this situation,” the 32-year-old athlete furthered. “Like every relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs and, you know, have gone through our things, but the statements… they didn’t come out of nowhere.”

“I love Clare and respect Clare enough to let her know how I feel,” said Moss. “I wanted nothing more than to make this relationship work.”

His statement comes days after the former Bachelorette broke her silence about their split, inferring that she was blindsided by his January 19 announcement that the two mutually decided to part ways.

“The truth is I am crushed,” Clare said last Thursday. “Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I was genuinely invested with all of my heart.”

In a since-deleted post, Moss previously stated their breakup was “the healthiest decision for both of us at this time.”

The former couple met on season 16 of The Bachelorette.

Charo says she finds the Hilaria Baldwin cultural appropriation controversy "funny"

No Comments Entertainment News

Phillip Faraone/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Spanish-American actress Charo has weighed in on the cultural appropriation controversy surrounding Hilaria Baldwin.  The lifestyle influencer was accused in December of a “decades long grift in which she impersonates a Spanish person.”

Charo, who emigrated from Spain in the 60s, and who often used her natural accent to comedic effect onscreen, spoke to Page Six about the scandal and admitted she finds the whole thing amusing.

“There’s nothing wrong if that makes her happy,” said Charo. “I think it’s funny. In my opinion, it’s just funny.”

“I spend all my life trying to speak English like you,” The Love Boat alum added. “I hoped to [be] a sophisticated American and I was born in Murcia, Spain, where they have a very strong Castilian accent…That’s Hilaria’s obsession, probably.”

“I want to speak the best English because after so many years in America nobody knows what the hell I’m talking about,” continued Charo. “In the case of Hilaria, she must be [so] obsessed with everything Spanish — the tradition, flamenco — that she really went into that education and she managed to do it very well indeed.”

The 70-year-old actress, born María Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza, said her respect of Hilaria Baldwin has not suffered because of the scandal.

In fact, Charo added she has always respected Baldwin as a fellow mom.

“I’m impressed that she has so many babies,” the television legend laughed, who is the mom of actor Shel Rasten. “When I was pregnant I looked like a watermelon with high heels.”

Since the controversy rocked the Baldwin family, Hilaria has repeatedly tried to clear the air.  She first took to Instagram to share her side of the story, confessing that she was born in Boston “and grew up spending time with my family between Massachusetts and Spain.”

Recently, Baldwin himself left Twitter, saying, “Twitter is like a party where everyone is screaming. Not much of a party.”

FKA twigs further details abuse she allegedly suffered while dating Shia Labeouf

No Comments Entertainment News

David Becker/GC Images(LOS ANGELES) — Singer FKA twigs is opening up more about her accusations against ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, whom she left in 2019.

Speaking Monday on the Grounded with Louis Theroux podcast, the 33-year-old artist claimed she suffers from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and panic attacks because of her past relationship.

“I felt so controlled and I felt so confused and I felt so low,” FKA, born Tahliah Barnett, revealed, saying LaBeouf forced her to live a “contained life.”

The two met in 2018 and, after an “intense” honeymoon phase, LaBeouf became increasingly “jealous and controlling.”

The singer said LaBeouf became outraged if he caught her “being nice to a waiter or being polite to somebody,” which resulted in him forbidding her to “look men in the eye.”

“He would wake me up in the night to accuse me of all sorts of things,” She described. “Accuse me of staring at the ceiling and thinking about ways to leave him [or] accusing me of wanting to be with somebody else.”

Barnett said he also began counting the number of times she’d kiss him, but if she didn’t meet his unspoken daily quota, “he would start an argument with me, berate me for hours, make me feel like the worst person ever.”

She credits an abuse helpline for giving her a “massive wake-up call” to end their relationship.

“I was left with PTSD from that, which again is just something that I don’t think we really talk about as a society just in terms of the healing when leaving, and how much work that has to be done to recover, to get back to the person that you were before,” said Barnett. “I had all this work to do to get back to just feeling okay.”

'The Bachelor' recap: Tensions mount as five new ladies join the fight for Matt's heart

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — On Monday’s episode of The Bachelor, emotions ran high as five new women joined the remaining 18 ladies hoping to win Matt’s heart.

Following Sarah’s sudden departure, a new rivalry started brewing between Victoria and Katie, who was growing tired of the so-called queen’s constant trash-talking.

Elsewhere, Chelsea opened up to Matt during a group date about the insecurities she experienced as a Black woman growing up around mostly white women, particularly regarding her hair, which she started chemically straightening when she was two.  Her journey to find self-love ended with the 28-year-old runway model cutting it off completely.  The touching story earned her the date rose.

That brought us to the rose ceremony, but not before host Chris Harrison dropped a bombshell on the remaining women — five new bachelorettes would be joining the competition:

Brittany — made up for “lost time” and made out with Matt.
Michelle, 27, a teacher from Edina, Minn.
Ryan, 26, a dancer/choreographer from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Kim, 28, an ICU nurse from Los Angeles, Calif.
Catalina, 29, a former Miss Puerto Rico from Caguas, Puerto Rico

To the original suitors’ frustration, only one of the new girls was eliminated after the rose ceremony. Kim was sent home, as well as Kaili and Khaylah.

The following day, Matt was happy to welcome the newcomers but also felt the curveball sent him “back to square one.”  He was able to seek some emotional support from former Bachelor Ben Higgins, who advised Matt to continue being as real as possible and give the ladies as much of himself as he possibly could.

Ben also joined Matt in welcoming Mari, Bri, Abigail, Brittany, Ryan, Catalina, Magi, Anna and Victoria to take part in an obstacle course called the “Fall in Love Fest.”

Adding to the frustration of the original group — or “OG’s,” as Anna referred to them — was Brittany’s relentlessly pursuit of Matt by first “making out” with him during her introduction, then stealing him away from Anna during the after party.

Anna attempted to get back at Britany by floating a rumor that the model and fellow Chicago-native moonlighted as an escort, which Brittany flatly denied.  The tactic backfired on Anna, who was promptly dubbed a “mean girl.”

Anna and Brittany both managed to make a good impression on Matt, but it was Bri who walked off with the date rose.

Meanwhile, tensions between the OG’s and the new girls intensified when newbie Michelle got a one-on-one date — an extreme scavenger hunt that involved zip lining and hot air ballooning– with Matt.  Afterwards, the Minnesota school teacher shared the rough year she had educating her students amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. The ease of their conversation and her dedication to helping kids earned her a rose.

Next, Katie, Pieper, Serena P., Rachael, Kit, Chelsea, Jessania, Lauren, Selena C. and MJ were challenged to “fight for love,” with the help of former five-time World Boxing Champion Mia St. John, who helped train them for a boxing match in front of the other women, hosted by Harrison and Wells Adams.

What was intended as a friendly competition got way out of hand when Serena P. took a hard punch to the nose, ending the match and the competition.

Hoping the after-party would put the date back on track, Matt instead found himself dealing with another crisis, as Katie, fed up with the “toxic” environment in the house, decided to bring it to his attention.

Matt vowed to get to the bottom of the situation, but to find out how, we’ll have tune in next Monday, when The Bachelor returns at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Judge approves $17 million bankruptcy fund for Harvey Weinstein's victims

No Comments Entertainment News

Scott Heins/Getty Images(DELAWARE) — (NOTE CONTENT) At a hearing in a Delaware court Monday, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Mary Walrath approved a $17 million settlement plan resolving most of the sexual harassment and assault claims against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the settlement had been approved by nearly 40 women pursuing such claims against the producer; the money allotted will be divided using a point system by a claims examiner.

The settlement also includes an additional $8.4 million to help settle other bankruptcy claims against Weinstein related to his former business dealings.

According to the trade, the examiner will review each victim’s claim, then determine how much of that $17 million pot each victim will receive. If the victims agree to release Weinstein from future claims, they’ll get what the examiner determines to be each victim’s full share; those who don’t agree they won’t pursue future legal action against the former movie mogul will only receive 25% of their share.

The settlement also grants a “mandatory perpetual release” of claims against Weinstein’s former clients and board members of The Weinstein Company, including his producer brother Bob Weinstein.

Weinstein was fired from the Weinstein Company, the production company he co-founded with his brother,  days after the initial reports of sexual assault against him surfaced in 2017.

Last year, Weinstein was sentenced in New York to 20 years for criminal sexual assault for forcing oral sex on a woman. That sentence was ordered to run consecutively with a three-year sentence for the third-degree rape of another woman.

Weinstein also faces an additional 11 sexual assault counts involving five women in California, which could add an additional 140 years to life in state prison, on top of his 23-year sentence.

He remains behind bars at the Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County, New York.
