Vanessa Bryant remembers Kobe and Gianna on one-year anniversary of their deaths

No Comments Entertainment News

Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Vanessa Bryant paid tribute to her late husband Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna Tuesday on the one-year anniversary of their deaths.

The Lakers legend, his 13-year-old daughter and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Southern California on January 26, 2020.

Vanessa shared a letter on Instagram that she received from a friend of Gianna’s and reflected on her painful losses. “Today I received this sweet letter from one of Gianna’s best friends, Aubrey,” she wrote. “I love you Aubz (as my Gigi would call you).”

She expressed her gratitude to Aubrey for sharing her memories of Gianna and allowing her to share the note.

“There are times I get into a pit of despair thinking about her and what she could’ve accomplished had she had a couple more years,” Aubrey wrote in the letter. “But recently I have been thinking about the mark she did leave on this earth. Her fights for equality in sports made the world reconsider there opinions, she along with Mr. Bryant, set the wheels in motion.”

Vanessa wrote, “My Gigi is INCREDIBLE and I truly appreciate your thoughtful letter. She loves you so much.”

“I miss my baby girl and Kob-Kob so much, too,” Vanessa continued. “I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such beautiful, kind and amazing human beings. It still doesn’t seem real.”

Vanessa and Kobe, who were married for 19 years, had four children together: Natalia, 18, Bianka, 4, one-year-old Capri and the late Gianna.

Many friends and fans of the late NBA star shared tributes across social media to mark the somber anniversary.

Vanessa requested media and others to not share footage from the crash scene and asked people to “celebrate their lives, not the day they lost them.”

Keira Knightley will no longer do nude scenes for male directors

No Comments Entertainment News

Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — While she’s shot a few in the past — and admitted to employing a “bum double” for others — Keira Knightley says she’s done with onscreen nude scenes, particularly if the director is a male.

“I don’t have an absolute ban, but I kind of do with men,” the actress and perfume pitch woman tells the podcast Chanel Connects.

During the conversation with filmmaker Lulu Wang and writer Diane Solway, 35-year-old Knightley explains, “It’s partly vanity and also it’s the male gaze. I feel very uncomfortable now trying to portray the male gaze.”

She adds, however, “Saying that, there’s times where I go, ‘Yeah, I completely see where this sex would be really good in this film,’ and you basically just need somebody to look hot.”

The Oscar-nominated performer hasn’t totally shut the door on onscreen nudity, but she does have one caveat. The mom to 5-year-old daughter Edie and 1-year-old Delilah says, “If I was making a story that was about that journey of motherhood and body acceptance, I feel like, I’m sorry, but that would have to be with a female filmmaker.”

Keira says, “I don’t want it to be those horrible sex scenes where you’re all greased up and everybody is grunting. I’m not interested in doing that.”

The Atonement actress says directors who envision her for a role featuring nudity should look elsewhere. “So, therefore, you can use somebody else, because I’m too vain and the body has had two children now, and I’d just rather not stand in front of a group of men naked,” said Knightley.

Stop accusing Jennifer Lopez of having Botox: "Please don't call me a liar"

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — Earlier this month, Jennifer Lopez responded to an online comment about her having had “tons of Botox” by writing, “That’s just my face!! For the 500 millionth time, I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery!!”  Now, she’s addressing the issue again in People magazine.

“I don’t judge anybody. If you want to do Botox and injectables, that’s fine! But I don’t want people lying on me and saying, ‘Oh, she’s trying to make believe that this stuff works,'” says the star of her newly launched JLO beauty line.

“No, I’m telling you what I do that works!” she insists. “Please don’t call me a liar. I don’t have to lie about things. I’ve been pretty honest about my whole life.”

“If I had, I would say, ‘Yeah, you’re right,’ but I don’t want people going, ‘Stop lying, you’re doing this, you’re doing that,’ when that’s just not true,” she adds.

The entertainer also notes that “one of my big beauty secrets is that I try to be kind to others and lift up other women.”

J.Lo’s glowing skin can be seen in her new PSA for the International WELL Building Institute and its WELL Health-Safety Rating, which will tell you that a building or space has followed rigorous guidelines to make sure it’s safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dale Moss says "there's no one person to blame" for ending engagement with 'Bachelorette' star Clare Crawley

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin(LOS ANGELES) — Bachelorette alum Dale Moss is setting the record straight about ending his engagement with fiancee Clare Crawley.

The former NFL star took to his Instagram stories Monday and opened up about his heartbreak, saying he now feels more “comfortable” talking about it.

After taking “some time to process everything,” Moss began, he explained that he’s been forcing a smile ever since ending things with Clare.

“This time has sucked, and thank God that I have the friends and the family that I have, because they’ve literally had to carry me through the last two-plus weeks,” he continued.  “Building a relationship in general is tough — especially when you’re doing it in the public eye.”

“Media will take things and run with them. People will spread lies or always want to point a finger, but the fact of the matter is, there’s no one person to blame in this situation,” the 32-year-old athlete furthered. “Like every relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs and, you know, have gone through our things, but the statements… they didn’t come out of nowhere.”

“I love Clare and respect Clare enough to let her know how I feel,” said Moss. “I wanted nothing more than to make this relationship work.”

His statement comes days after the former Bachelorette broke her silence about their split, inferring that she was blindsided by his January 19 announcement that the two mutually decided to part ways.

“The truth is I am crushed,” Clare said last Thursday. “Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I was genuinely invested with all of my heart.”

In a since-deleted post, Moss previously stated their breakup was “the healthiest decision for both of us at this time.”

The former couple met on season 16 of The Bachelorette.
