Michael B. Jordan says he's open to return to 'Black Panther 2': It "will always be on the table"

No Comments Entertainment News

Marvel Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Michael B. Jordan says he hasn’t closed the door on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with People, Jordan revealed that he’d be open to reprise his Black Panther role of Erik “Killmonger” Stevens if asked to return.

“That’s something that is very, very near and dear to my heart for a lot of obvious reasons,” Jordan said, referring to the loss of Chadwick Boseman, who passed away last August from colon cancer. “[I] had a really tough year losing somebody close to me. And what that means for that franchise is…devastating.”

“But being in that world in a character that I loved playing, and working with [writer-director Ryan Coogler] and all that good stuff, it’s family,” he continues. “We created a family over there. So to be able to be in that world again is something that, I think, will always be on the table in some capacity.”

Although official details on Black Panther 2 have not been released, Marvel president Kevin Feige told Deadline earlier this month that the sequel wouldn’t revolve around one person, but rather explore Wakanda’s “characters and subcultures.”

“So much of the comics and that first movie is the world of Wakanda. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story,” said Feige when asked what will happen to Boseman’s titular character. “We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting [his character] T’Challa.”

Meanwhile, Jordan is keeping busy with his own personal projects. In addition to making his directorial debut with Creed III, he is also gearing up for Without Remorseand Journal for Jordan — the latter of which he’ll work with Oscar winner Denzel Washington.

“Being able to be directed by [Denzel] is a blessing and such a learning experience for me,” Jordan says.

Klosing time: Trailer for the final season of 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' just dropped

No Comments Entertainment News

E! Entertainment(LOS ANGELES) — “We didn’t think that anyone would be into watching a show about our crazy family.” That’s what Kim Kardashian West says in the open of the trailer for E!’s final season of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

As it turned out, people were into it — for the past 14 years — but in the tearful trailer, fans will start to see how it all ends.

The sneak-peek, set to Harry Styles’ weepy “Welcome to the Final Show”, shows Momager Kris Jenner crying as she tells KUWTK‘s crew that the reality show’s 20th season will be its last, and the waterworks keep flowing from there.

The snippet doesn’t make any references to Kim’s rumored drama with husband Kanye West, though Kim is shown briefly crying on her phone; the sneak peek also hints that Kourtney Kardashian and her ex Scott Disick are getting closer, “they were made for each other,” Kendall Jenner says, “like they are supposed to be together.”

The coming attraction also seems to show the Kardashian gang in, er, Kwarantine, keeping themselves amused with a low-key New Year’s Eve gathering in the living room, and Kylie Jenner seemingly playing charades.

The latter, who turned her time on the show into a billion dollar bottom line as an influencer and entrepreneur, admits, “I’m just really blessed to have had this opportunity to even do this.”

A set of title cards reads, “The Era. The Empire. The End.”

The final season of Keeping up with the Kardashians kicks off March 18 on E!

ABC/Eric McCandless(NEW YORK) — Norman Lear will receive the Carol Burnett Award at the 2021 Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press announced Thursday.

The 98-year-old television writer and producer, who created the genre-defining sitcom All in the Family, will be honored during the 78th annual ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 28.

“Norman Lear is among the most prolific creators of this generation,” HFPA president Ali Sar said in a press release. “His career has encompassed both the Golden Age and Streaming Era, throughout which his progressive approach [of] addressing controversial topics through humor prompted a cultural shift that allowed social and political issues to be reflected in television.”

Sar continued, “His work revolutionized the industry.”

Lear will become the third person to receive this award, succeeding Burnett, and Ellen DeGeneres. The honor is given each year to a person, “who has made outstanding contributions to the television medium on or off the screen.”

The television pioneer — whose other shows include MaudeSanford and SonGood TimesThe JeffersonsOne Day at a Time, and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman — is best known for addressing and raising awareness of important social and political topics through his work and the medium of television.

Lear is a World War II combat veteran who began working in the industry in 1950. He has won six Emmys and was nominated for a screenwriting Oscar for Divorce American Style.

He has won several other career-spanning honors, such as a National Medal of Arts in 1999, a Peabody Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, and he was a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2017.

Zendaya addresses 12 year age gap with 'Malcolm & Marie' co-star John David Washington

No Comments Entertainment News

Netflix(LOS ANGELES) — Zendaya and John David Washington are the stars of the the upcoming film Malcom & Marie — a black-and-white romantic drama that showcases a couple as their relationship is tested. The film, out February 5, is already getting Oscar buzz, however, some critics are fixated on the 12-year age gap between the actors.

Zendaya addressed this during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop on Wednesday and attributed it to one simple thing,”I’ve played a 16-year-old since I was 16,” the 24-year-old said.

“You have to remember, also, people grew up [watching] me as a child,” the Euphoria Emmy-winning actress added. “It’s like watching, I guess, your younger sibling now, you know, they’re grown…So it’s hard for people to wrap around the idea that I am grown in real life. You know, even though I do play a teenager on television still.”

Washington, 36, didn’t elaborate on the matter, but he did share that he was thankful they were able to film Malcom & Marie amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“I didn’t know what the industry was going to look like,” he said. “I didn’t know if I was going to have an opportunity to do what I love to do the most, which is act.”

Malcolm & Marie premieres on Netflix February 5.
