Warner Bros. Entertainment/HBO Max(LOS ANGELES) — Oscar winner Jared Leto’s awards buzz is growing with a brand-new Screen Actors Guild nod.
Leto was nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category, thanks to his role in the film The Little Things, in which he stars opposite two other Academy Award winners, Denzel Washington and Rami Malek.
Leto’s performance was also recognized earlier this week with a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe.
The Little Things, premiered last Friday both in theaters and on HBO Max, and topped the box office over the weekend.
In addition to all the award nominations, Leto’s been making headlines this week after director Zack Snyder teased the actor/musician’s return as the Joker in the upcoming so-called “Snyder Cut” of the 2017 film Justice League. In an interview with Variety, Leto says he’s “sworn to secrecy” about the project.
“He’s an incredible filmmaker and I love his work,” Leto says of Snyder. “It was cool to have the opportunity to collaborate with him. He’s got a crazy, infectious energy. I love his passion and commitment to what he does.”
Leto previously played the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad; his mostly-deleted appearance in that film, and absence from the theatrical cut of Justice League disappointed many fans.
Incidentally, Diane Lane was similarly tight-lipped about the Snyder Cut, though the actress, who plays Superman/Clark Kent’s adoptive mom Martha, admitted to ABC Audio that she thought the fans enthusiasm that spawned the re-cut was “Fantastic.”
Zack Snyder’s Justice League premieres March 18 on HBO Max.

John Shearer/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Chrissy Teigen is reflecting on the loss of her unborn son, Jack, whom she would have given birth to this week, ahead of undergoing surgery for endometriosis.
Teigen took to Twitter on Wednesday to tell her followers that her “little jack” would have been born this week. Given the timing, the 35-year-old said she is understandably “a bit off.”
“I truly feel kicks in my belly, but it’s not phantom,” the Cravings author continued. “I have surgery for endometriosis tomorrow … but the period feeling this month is exactly like baby kicks.”
In another tweet, the Lip Sync Battle host shared a video of her belly and it appearing to react as if a baby were kicking inside the womb.
“I’ll pretend it’s him saying hi — it never stops,” she added
Teigen first revealed she was pregnant with her third child with husband John Legend in August via a music video for Legend’s song “Wild.”
In September, Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss after being admitted to the hospital due to “excessive bleeding.” Prior to her hospitalization, she had been on weeks of bed rest.
In October, the model opened up about losing Jack in an emotional personal essay.
Teigen and John Legend, who have been married since 2013, have two children: daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2.
Michael Becker/FOX(LOS ANGELES) — The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon will be taking a break from the Fox reality series after testing positive for COVID-19, according to Variety.
Comedian-actress Niecy Nash has been tapped to fill in when production on the show’s fifth season begins on Thursday, and continue until Cannon is cleared to get back to work.
Cannon is currently in quarantine and resting, his rep tells the industry trade. Fox expects Cannon to return to the series later in the season.
Season five of The Masked Singer, featuring returning panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, is set to launch in March.
Disney Junior(LOS ANGELES) — Jenny Slate welcomed her first child with fiancé Ben Shattuck, a baby girl, the actress confirmed on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The Great North star confirmed the baby, named Ida, was born six weeks ago.
When asked how they came up with the baby’s name, Slate told Kimmel, “We don’t have any family members named Ida. But we did kind of look into our heritage. And my side of the family is like from all over the place. Jewish people from all over the place one of the places they are from is eastern Europe and we were looking at some eastern European names.
“And we didn’t go with this, but one name we were both obsessed with was spelled B-A-G-R-A-T,” she continued. “And while I was pregnant, we just kept calling her Bagrat, which I’m sure is not how you pronounce that, Bagrat.
“Something more beautiful than, “Hey, Bagrat, you made me throw up again,” Slate joked.
The 38-year-old actress went on to explain that the COVID-19 pandemic was a “major time” to have a baby.
“We weren’t sure how it was going to go,” said Slate, confirming that Ben was allowed in the delivery room.
“You know, we had our masks on and everything. And that’s good,” she continued, “because I was making a lot of faces that I might not want him to remember, maybe, later.”
Slate voices the character of 16-year-old Judy Tobin on the Fox animated series The Great North, which premieres February 14.
