Lauren Alaina unveils details for new EP, 'Getting Over Him', including Jon Pardi duet

UMG NashvilleOver the past couple of years, Lauren Alaina has cemented her role as one of country music’s most in-demand duet partners, appearing as a guest artist on songs by the likes of Kane Brown, Dustin Lynch and Chris Young.

Now that Lauren’s got plans to put out a new EP in September, it’s her turn to call in some outside vocal help.

She’s tapped her friend and former duet partner Jon Pardi to cut the title track of her next project, Getting Over Him. Lauren previously collaborated with Jon on “Don’t Blame it On Whiskey,” off his most recent album.

“I’ve done duets with other people for their projects, but I have never done any for my own,” the singer says. “I’ve got a duet with Pardi on his album, and then he loved this one [‘Getting Over Him.’] His energy is so amazing. I can’t believe I have a rebound song — but I do!”

Lauren’s EP also features a duet with Lukas Graham called “What Do You Think Of?”

The six-song project is duet out in full on September 4, but Lauren’s sharing one of its tracks, “Run,” on Friday.

Maren Morris and baby Hayes got the most stylish gifts ever from Miranda Lambert

ABC/Image Group LAMiranda Lambert just might be the best gift-giver in country music, and Maren Morris has proof.

Maren recently shared a picture of the custom set of mom-and-baby denim jackets that Miranda had made for her and her infant son, Hayes. Both jackets come outfitted with plenty of fringe, along with the names of both mom and baby embroidered across the backs.

On Twitter, Maren posted a snapshot of baby Hayes modeling his new denim, and also shouted out her fellow country star’s newest number-one single, “Bluebird.”

“Thank you for this amazing gift,” she wrote. “Love you so much and am so proud of you for having the number 1 this week.”

When “Bluebird” hit the top of the charts earlier this week, it marked the first time Miranda had made it to the number-one spot in six years. Her last number-one was 2014’s “Somethin’ Bad,” which was a duet with Carrie Underwood.

Maren is no stranger to the number-one spot, either. In March, she scored a chart-topping hit with her single, “The Bones.”

“I’ve never wanted to glorify it”: Sam Hunt opens up about his DUI and writing songs about alcohol

ABC/Randy HolmesIn both life and songwriting, Sam Hunt knows first-hand how important it is to be honest.

“You can’t fake it if you want to make it,” the singer reflects in a new interview with HITS Daily Double. “Some of that life you don’t wanna put out there, but it’s still a part of it.”

That’s why he didn’t try to keep it a secret when he got arrested for driving under the influence last November in Nashville.

“It happened,” the singer admits. “People in my camp were talking about suppressing it, but why would I be afraid to talk about it? If it happens, it’s true. I was raised and taught to respect [alcohol.] Moderation is important.”

Alcohol also plays a central role in country songwriting, but Sam says he tries to stay away from the tropes of drinking and partying hard in his own songs, in part because they don’t typically feel that true to his life.

“I’ve never wanted to glorify that,” he adds. “It’s a cheap trick in country music, and I’ve always wanted to avoid that. I don’t like using [drinking] as a party song; for me, that wouldn’t be honest. I’ve never been the guy who shotguns a beer. I know people who partake that way, and I wouldn’t want to shake my finger or look down on them.”

As for his 2019 DUI, Sam admits that that event was the result of poor decision-making.

“I should’ve been more conscious, but I wasn’t. So I take responsibility,” he says.

Brad Paisley raises a glass with Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker and 225 more friends in "No I in Beer" video

Sony Music NashvilleBrad Paisley released a star-studded music video Wednesday for his latest single, “No I in Beer.”

The video, which the country singer edited himself, features more than 225 people, including fans from 39 countries across the globe and some of Brad’s own famous friends, both from the country genre and beyond. You can spot Carrie Underwood, Jimmie Allen, Tim McGraw, Kelsea Ballerini, Darius Rucker, Lindsay Ell and more throughout the video.

Former pro football quarterback Peyton Manning and Major League Baseball pitcher Clayton Kershaw also pop up during the clip, as do ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos and his wife, Ali Wentworth.

Brad recently told ABC’s Good Morning America that he feels “No I in Beer” has become a lighthearted connector during a difficult time.

“It’s been fun to watch this take on this meaning of sort of defiance,” he says of the track. “It’s sort of a way, like, the world is screwed up and things are strange, but we can all have a beer together some way.”

Since the song’s initial release in April, the country star said it’s “taken on such a life of its own,” leading to everything from crashed Zoom drinking parties to a viral TikTok challenge he’s even attempted.

“The way that people have utilized this — they’ve been doing these ‘beersketball’ videos on TikTok and I’ve loved it,” he said.

Footage of these hilarious moments can be seen in the new music video.

Paisley also shared a clip earlier this week featuring himself with Tim, Darius and Jimmie putting together a piece of the music video during a Zoom call.

“How you make a music video in a pandemic….with over 225 of your friends,” Paisley wrote alongside the clip.

Eric Church is teaming up with Jack Daniel’s for a special, limited-edition whiskey release

ABC/Image Group LAEric Church is raising a glass to a new partnership.  The country star joined forces with Jack Daniel’s Distillery to craft a special, limited edition Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey release, which will hit U.S. liquor store shelves in early August.

“My love for Jack Daniel’s is for the whiskey, but it’s also about the can-do, small-town attitude,” notes Eric. “Where community, loyalty and hard work are the qualities the crafters of this American icon hang their hats on.”

The singer personally had a hand in selecting the new line of 94 proof whiskey, which comes in a 750 ml black bottle and features a specially-designed black and gold label. In addition to the whiskey itself, fans can browse a line of special merch celebrating Eric’s new custom whiskey, including a Single Barrel rocks glass that retails for $10.

“I’m honored to have my own special release of Jack Daniels Single Barrel,” Eric adds. “Whether we raise a glass at a table with a handful of our friends or from a stage with thousands, let’s raise our glass high. ‘Cause that’s where it belongs.”

In addition to his new limited-edition whiskey, Eric has plenty of career success to raise a glass to: His newest single, “Stick That in Your Country Song,” recently cracked the top 30 at country radio.
