Gwendolyn RecordsTrisha Yearwood showcases the personal meaning behind her heart-tugging new ballad, “I’ll Carry You Home,” in the song’s music video. The clip takes a look back at the singer’s own family home movies from her childhood.
Trisha offers a look into her first few years at home in Georgia, surrounded by her parents, friends and family.
She says her song is a tribute to all of those who’ve lifted her up over the years — even literally, such as when her parents carried her home from the hospital as a newborn.
“For me, it’s very much about the people in my life that have my back, and also my strong spiritual belief that God’s got me, no matter what. I believe that. It’s really like a prayer,” Trisha says of “I’ll Carry You Home.”
“It’s just one of the most beautiful songs that I’ve heard,” she adds.
The new release comes on the heels of Trisha’s performance of “I’ll Carry You Home” at the 2020 ACMs, where she sang during the in memoriam segment honoring of all the country greats we’ve lost in 2020.

ABC/Image Group LAIt’s been six whole months since Maren Morris and her husband, fellow artist Ryan Hurd, welcomed their baby boy, Hayes, the couple’s first child.
Since then, the singer has been open about the ups and downs of new parenthood, sharing her story with postpartum depression and responding to the mommy-shamers who’ve critiqued her mothering style on social media.
But to celebrate little Hayes’ half year of life, Maren focused on the sweet parts of being her son’s mama.
“He smiled early and stared at you intently like he’d known you in a past life,” she wrote on social media, alongside a family selfie. “He eats all the green foods I would never touch, and I think we’ve only heard him really cry 4 different times.”
The singer went on to say that she doesn’t take this sweet phase for granted, and knows there might well be more challenging times ahead.
“We are honestly just waiting for the spell to wear off and he becomes a terror, but so far, he’s just been our sweet, sensitive son,” Maren continued. “Happy half year, Bub.”
Maren has a whole lot to celebrate these days. In addition to her baby’s half-birthday, she recently brought home the Female Artist of the Year trophy at the 2020 ACM Awards, and also scored four nominations at the upcoming 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
ABC/Image Group LAThe old saying goes that “idle hands are the Devil’s workshop,” but in Dolly Parton’s case, idle hands sometimes result in a massive hit.
In the singer’s new book, Dolly Parton, Storyteller: My Life in Lyrics, she remembers how she wrote her 1980 hit “9 to 5,” while on the set of the 1979 movie of the same title. The film starred Dolly alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, and it remains one of the singer’s best-loved acting appearances to this day.
According to a preview from the new book in People, Dolly says that she got just a little bit bored backstage while she was waiting for her character’s scene to be filmed.
“The thing I hate about the movies is all the waiting-around time,” she writes. “I realized on the set of 9 to 5 in 1979 that I had to do something besides just sitting there. I couldn’t play my guitar — I didn’t want to disrupt everything on the set by making music.”
Instead, Dolly found another way to make music.
“I would just click my nails making them sound like a typewriter. Then I used that sound as my music. I started writing ‘9 to 5’ on the set of the movie that way,” she continues. “I’d go back to my hotel every night and put down what I had written that day, playing my guitar and getting it on tape. Over a long period of time, I wrote the song on my nails.”
Dolly Parton, Storyteller: My Life in Lyrics will be out on November 17.
Triple TigersScotty McCreery returns this week with his brand-new single, “You Time.” The song follows a busy couple as they put their demanding work schedules aside for a few hours in order to enjoy each other’s company.
That’s a real-life problem for Scotty, whose wife Gabi is a pediatric nurse. Between her hectic work life and his schedule as a busy touring and recording artist, the singer admits that the lyrics were inspired by how difficult it can be for the couple to carve out quality time together.
But instead of complaining about how hard it is to find downtime together, “You Time” is a playful ode to how much fun it is when the two lovebirds finally do get some time to themselves.
“I need a little you time, you time, red wine / Sippin’ in the moonlight / Your touch, your skin, your lips / Kissin’ on me all night,” Scotty sings in the chorus. “I ain’t tryin’ to monopolize / Your 24/7, 365 / But sometimes, I need just a little bit of me and you time…”
Of course, Scotty and Gabi — as well as many other couples throughout the world — are getting a little more “You Time” than they bargained for in 2020, amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
Scotty debuted the live version of his new single during a Ryman performance in early September. It was his first in-person, albeit socially distanced, show since the onset of the pandemic.
“You Time” is the first taste of an upcoming album from Scotty, the singer’s follow-up to his massively successful Seasons Change.
