Sony Music Nashville/Audio Up MediaLindsay Ell shared her sunny new “Workin’ Out” this week, a banjo-laced, encouraging anthem that advises us to roll with life’s ups and downs.

The new tune comes off of the soundtrack for Make it Up As We Go, a new scripted musical podcast that tells the story of a young singer-songwriter trying to make it in Nashville’s competitive music industry.

The podcast is executive-produced by Miranda Lambert, who also makes an appearance in the roster of stars appearing on Make it Up As We Go. Other featured guests include Billy Bob Thornton, Craig Robinson and many more. Singer-songwriter Scarlett Burke stars in and directs the show.

“Classic”: Cam dials up the glam vibes in her vintage-inspired new music video

No Comments Country Music News

Triple TigersCam takes her cues from the glamorous days of 1950s-era Hollywood in the music video for “Classic,” her latest single, which is a rose-tinted look back at bygone days. The colorful new video was filmed at Nashville’s White Limozeen, a Dolly Parton-themed rooftop bar.

The singer says that while her new song may be a fun, bubbly tribute to the past, there’s something more reflective going on under the surface.

“I seem to be looking back to the past a lot these days. Untangling the truth from the stories in my nostalgia and my identity,” Cam muses. “You gotta know where you come from to know where you are going, right? So this video is my own vintage feminine exercise.”

Plus, it gave her a chance to pay homage to some of her idols of the time period.

“I got to dress up as Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Audrey Hepburn and dance around the bright pinks and retro vibe of the White Limozeen,” Cam adds.

“Classic” is featured on Cam’s upcoming album, The Otherside, which is slated for release on October 30. Other previously-shared songs from the project include “Redwood Tree,” “Diane,” and “Till There’s Nothing Left.”

Jason Aldean’s wife remembers Route 91 Harvest Festival on the 3rd anniversary of the mass shooting

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAOctober 1 marks a somber anniversary for the country community. On this date in 2017, a mass shooting took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, killing 60 people and injuring over 800 more.

The massacre began when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd, which was gathered on the Las Vegas strip, from his window on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel. At the time, Jason Aldean was performing his headlining set, near the end of a three-day bill that also included Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Maren Morris and more.

On the three-year anniversary of the massacre, Jason’s wife, Brittany, who was at the festival and eight months pregnant at the time with her son, Memphis, spoke out in remembrance of the shooting and those who lost their lives.

“On one hand it seems like an eternity ago, a nightmare you try to forget. On the other hand, its vividness makes it seem like it was yesterday,” Brittany wrote on social media. “…The sound, the chaos, the overwhelming sadness and heartache…it’s something that never leaves you.”

She went on to offer her thoughts and condolences to those who lost loved ones at the shooting.

“We are thinking of each and every one of you today and every day,” she added. “And to the men and women who ran towards the bullets to protect all of us…WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL.”

ABC/Image Group LAKane Brown will take the stage of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium this month for a livestream concert, in a sponsored show that’s part of his brand partnership with Dr. Pepper & Cream Soda.

Even though fans won’t get to see Kane up close and in person, the singer’s finding fun ways to make his show interactive. Viewers can vote for the songs they want to hear during the show, which is available to watch at Dr. Pepper Music’s website.

Ahead of his show, Kane explained to Variety that due to the fact that he’s been releasing new music during the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s got a lot of material he’s itching to test out in front of a crowd.

“It will be great to get out and be able to play some new songs that I haven’t got to play in a show yet,” he said, adding “hopefully by the time we’re able to get back out to fully touring [fans] know all the words to the new ones, too.”

The singer went on to say that he hopes the set list for his upcoming show will keep viewers on their toes. “I think you can expect to hear some of the new songs, some of the ones we started out with together and some surprises,” he hints.

Kane has been busily releasing new music over the past few months, including dropping his latest EP, Mixtape Vol. 1. Most recently, he shared the music video for the second single off that project, “Worldwide Beautiful.”

The singer’s livestream show at the Ryman will take place on October 8.
