Dierks Bentley does his best impression of Dwight from 'The Office' in hilarious "Gone" music video

No Comments Country Music News

ABCDierks Bentley has some laughs at his own expense in the music video for his latest single, “Gone.”

The song’s lyrics tell a story of a guy who’s checked out after a breakup, explaining that he’s “been a million places but they’re all up in my head” as he sits on the couch, watches TV and nurses his broken heart.

For the video treatment, the singer takes that concept to a whole new level. He starts out by moping around in bed and flipping through the TV, but there’s something unusual about the shows he’s watching: They’re all homages to TV classics, and they all feature Dierks as the main character.

No matter what character he’s portraying, Dierks always seems to end up as the butt of the joke. He plays Dwight from The Office, and ends up being on the receiving end of one of the show’s classic pranks. He stars in a Full House parody, but winds up getting covered in baby spit-up. As a Game of Thrones character, the singer loses his fight with a dragon.

“It just always ends poorly for me in this video,” Dierks jokes in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. “I definitely had a lot more fun making it than it looks, though.”

Dierks released “Gone” back in October. It’s his first new music since his 2018 studio release, The Mountain.

Jay Martin/Ingenuity StudiosBrett Eldredge and Kelly Clarkson are offering up some adorable holiday cheer with their new animated music video for their holiday duet, “Under the Mistletoe.”

Both duet partners make appearances in the clip: A cartoon Kelly floats through a neighborhood on a snowy evening, as families celebrate the holidays inside their homes. Meanwhile, an RV careens down a winding snowy country road, and we see the shadow of a man sitting in the driver’s seat, with a floppy-eared dog sitting behind him.

Finally, the pair burst out of the camper van, revealing themselves to be none other than Brett and his beloved dog, Edgar, who then proceeds to cause all kinds of mayhem, from stealing the Christmas turkey, to wrecking the Christmas tree, to hopping on Santa’s sleigh without permission.

Over the past couple of years, Brett’s Weiszla pup has become quite the crowd-pleaser, even appearing onstage from time to time with his famous human.

Kelly and Brett dropped their holiday duet back in October. The new video, which features hand-drawn animation by Ingenuity Studios, was directed by Jay Martin.

Paul Morigi/Getty ImagesGarth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are celebrating their 15th anniversary of marriage today, and looking back on the time that’s elapsed since they tied the knot, Garth describes it as “the best 15 years of my life.”

Garth goes on to explain that the superstar couple got married in 2005, but they actually met back in the late ‘80s. That means that they’ve now been married for nearly the same amount of time that they knew each other before making it official.

“This is the second 15 years of our life. That’s the crazy thing,” Garth points out. “We met in ‘87, ‘88…got married in 2005. So, we went through the first phase as friends…and [then] the first 15 years as husband and wife.”

Prior to wedding Trisha, Garth was married to Sandy Mahl, the mother of his three daughters.  Trisha’s marriage to Garth, meanwhile, is her third.

Though Garth and Trisha’s time together as a married couple has been the happiest time of Garth’s life so far, he’s banking on the years ahead to top it.

“I’m going to put all of my money that the third 15 years is going to be the best 15 years of my life,” Garth says.

Garth and Trisha wed at their Oklahoma home, in a low-key ceremony with only family in attendance. But while the nuptials themselves might have been small, Garth went all out for the proposal. He popped the question in front of 7,000 fans in Bakersfield, California.

“Music played a huge role in my life growing up and I can’t imagine my childhood without it,” Jimmie explains. “I have learned so many life skills through music. I’m looking forward to getting involved with the CMA Foundation’s Unified Voices for Music Education program and sharing the impact that music has had on my life with students across the country.”

During her time with the program, Ashley put together a band lesson on building the musical note major scale, to be used by students and teachers alike. That lesson, as well as other educational videos, are available to watch on the initiative’s YouTube channel.
