Eric Church’s “Doing Life With Me” studio video offers a look into the making of the song

No Comments Country Music News

ABCEric Church is giving fans a glimpse into life in the recording studio with his new, behind-the-scenes video for “Doing Life With Me.”

Not only can viewers get a feel for what creating “Doing Life With Me” was like, but the video also spotlights the family and friends that have been “Doing Life” with Eric for years. To top it off, the singer tips his hat to his biggest fans by making the new studio video exclusively available to members of his fan club, the Church Choir, for its first 24 hours.

Eric dropped his tender, gratitude-filled new ballad last week. It’s the latest in a lengthy string of new songs to come from The Chief this year; over the course of 2020, he’s shared new tunes such as “Stick That in Your Country Song,” “Bad Mother Trucker,” “Jenny” and “Crazyland.”

Meanwhile, his current single, “Hell of a View,” just cracked country radio’s Top 30 this week.

“Nobody” but Dylan Scott’s wife could be his co-star in his heartfelt, personal new music video

No Comments Country Music News

Cameron PowellDylan Scott and his wife, Blair Robinson, take a romantic stroll down memory lane in the music video for his song, “Nobody.”

In the clip, Dylan and Blair step into a movie theater to take in a very special film: It’s a montage of home videos of the couple’s love story. Together, they cozy up on a couch to reminisce over footage of their wedding day as well as special moments with their kids, three-year-old Beckett Scott and 15-month-old Finley Gray.

“The video is special to me because I got to show a look inside everyday life for my family,” Dylan tells People, who premiered his new music video. “I love involving my kids.”

Plus, telling his real-life family story is a winning formula for the star, who secured his first number-one hit with 2016’s “My Girl,” a song he wrote about his now-wife.

“I thought to myself, ‘Who wants to hear my mushy, gushy love story with my girlfriend?’” Dylan recalls of his initial doubts that the song would be a success. “We were high school sweethearts, so it’s cool having something so personal — our love story — be my big hit.”

“Nobody” comes off of Dylan’s 2019 EP, Nothing to Do Town.

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Chris HolloLady A will make a stop on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday, performing their original holiday tune “Christmas Through Your Eyes.

It’s one of two festive TV appearances the trio’s planning in the days ahead: Lady A will also appear on the Tamron Hall show next Monday. During that stop, they’ll perform their rendition of Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime.”

Both songs are included on the deluxe edition of Lady A’s On This Winter’s Night, an updated and expanded version of their 2012 Christmas album that the band put out for the 2020 holiday season. “Christmas Through Your Eyes” is a particularly special addition, as it’s a brand-new tune that the three bandmates wrote together about their experiences watching their young children discover the magic of Christmas.

Lady A’s Christmas spirit is well-documented, with the band also returning to ABC’s holiday special, CMA Country Christmas, this year. The band also celebrated the “12 Days of Christmas” this year by sharing some of their favorite charitable causes with their fan base. They also recently announced the formation of their LadyAID Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

You can catch Lady A on GMA tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. ET on ABC.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are honored "The Dance" helped Kelly Clarkson through her divorce

No Comments Country Music News

Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images for The Recording AcademyEarlier this week, Kelly Clarkson revealed to Garth Brooks on her daytime talk show that his song, “The Dance,” helped her come to terms with her divorce.  The song also inspired Clarkson to put pen to paper and pour her emotions into a “therapeutic” new single.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Brooks, 58, and wife Trisha Yearwood, 56, said they were stunned and touched by Clarkson’s honest confession.

Referring to the “Piece By Piece” singer as “Kelly ‘fricken’ Clarkson,” the two-time Grammy winner gushed, “The fact that she says it as a fan makes you feel as an artist like, ‘Hey, maybe you’re down here doing what you’re supposed to be doing down here.'”

Yearwood called the exchange a “testament to the power of music.”

“Songs mean different things to all of us depending on what we’re going through. So that song, ‘The Dance,’ is probably the song that is most played at people’s weddings and funerals,” the Trisha’s Southern Kitchen star continued. “Then when Kelly’s going through divorce, it’s like …everybody has their own story and that’s the cool thing about music is that you can find a way for it to fit into your own story.”

“The Dance,” which came out in 1989, is about being thankful for an experience, even if it’s painful.

The song includes the lyrics, “I’m glad I didn’t know/ The way it all would end/ The way it all would go/ Our lives are better left to chance/ I would have missed the pain/ But I’d have had to miss the dance.”

Clarkson, 38, said on Monday that the song perfectly sums up her feelings about the divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock.

She also revealed her new song includes the lines, “Even though my heart is broken/ It was worth the dance anyway.”
