ABC/Mark LevineThomas Rhett has returned to the studio to record new music.
The “Life Changes” singer shared a series of shots on Instagram from inside the studio. A black and white photo shows him beaming as he steps up to the microphone, while another features a wide shot of the mixing board.
Thomas did practice social distancing, and he and his colleagues are wearing masks in the photos. Photographer Spencer Combs, who spent a week with Thomas in the studio, revealed in an Instagrampost that everyone was required to wear masks and get temperature checks before coming into the studio, calling it “the new shooting normal!”
“Can’t wait for y’all to hear what we’ve been working on in the studio. I truly think this is some of the best music I’ve written,” Thomas describes in the caption.
In March, Thomas released the uplifting single “Be a Light,” featuring Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin. It’s currently in the top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Warner Music NashvilleBlake Shelton is calling on girlfriend Gwen Stefani for his new single, “Happy Anywhere.”
Described as a “loving, feel-good tune,” “Happy Anywhere” sees the power couple uniting on a second single following the success of “Nobody but You,” which earlier this year became Blake’s 27th number-one hit and Gwen’s first on the country charts.
Blake shares that he and Gwen felt compelled to share”Happy Anywhere” in light of COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ve all been in quarantine and lockdown, and hopefully we’ve been doing that with somebody that we really love and enjoy being around. That’s what happened with me and Gwen this summer, and this entire year,” Blake says, adding that “there’s never been a better time” to release the track.
“Happy Anywhere” will be released on Friday. The couple will debut the song with a performance on the Todayshow during the 8 a.m. hour.
On Saturday, Blake hosts a one-night-only drive-in concert that will be broadcast at theaters around the U.S. and Canada. Gwen and longtime friend Trace Adkins will join Blake for the pre-taped show where he’s set to perform some of his biggest hits, alongside new numbers.

(NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J.) — The son of a federal judge in Newark, New Jersey, has been shot and killed, and her husband shot and injured in an attack at the family’s home, according to law enforcement sources.
The judge, Esther Salas, was not hurt.
Her son, Daniel Anderl, 20, died, Francis “Mac” Womack, the mayor of North Brunswick, New Jersey, told ABC News. Salas’ husband, Mark Anderl, is in critical but stable condition as of Monday morning, according to law enforcement sources.
The suspect was a white man who wore a face covering and a FedEx uniform, law enforcement sources told ABC News, and he used an ordinary car to make a getaway.
At about 5 p.m. Sunday, the gunman knocked at the door to the family’s North Brunswick home. Daniel Anderl answered the door and was shot first, before his father was also shot.
“He was shot through the heart,” Womack said of Daniel Anderl, who was a student at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
“Daniel was a rising junior, enrolled for classes beginning in the next few weeks,” Catholic University President John Garvey said in a statement Monday. “He turned 20 last week. We all mourn and grieve this loss to our University community.”
The suspect was later found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound near Liberty, New York, multiple law enforcement sources told ABC News. A municipal employee discovered the body in a car.
The deceased suspect was an attorney who had a case before Judge Salas in 2015, sources said. A FedEx package addressed to Judge Salas was discovered in the car, sources said.
“As a judge, she had threats from time to time, but everyone is saying that recently there had not been any,” said Mayor Womack, who is personal friends with the judge and her husband.
FedEx Spokesman Jim Masilak said in a statement, “We are aware of the media reports and are fully cooperating with investigating authorities.”
In a statement, the FBI Newark office said, “The FBI is investigating a shooting that occurred at the home of Judge Esther Salas in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey earlier this evening, July 19. We are looking for one subject and ask that anyone who thinks they may have relevant information please call FBI Newark at 973-792-3001. We are working closely with our state and local partners and will provide additional updates when available.”
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy called the shooting “a brazen and cowardly act of gun violence at their home in North Brunswick. We give our full support to Judge Salas and her husband at this most trying time. This is an unconscionable tragedy.”
The New Jersey State Police, the North Brunswick Police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s office are also involved in the investigation. The U.S. Marshals have been called to provide the judge with a security detail, according to a law enforcement official.
We all mourn and grieve this loss to our University community.
Our deepest condolences go out to Daniel’s parents, Esther Salas and Mark Anderl. We pray too for Daniel’s father, who was also shot and is in the hospital.

Salas had received threats in the past, the sources said. Authorities are investigating whether there is any connection between those prior threats and the shooting, or whether it possibly involved the husband’s work as a criminal defense attorney.
“I know Judge Salas and her husband well, and was proud to recommend her to President Obama for nomination to New Jersey’s federal bench,” New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez said in a statement. “My prayers are with Judge Salas and her family, and that those responsible for this horrendous act are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.”
Salas is the first Latina woman to serve on the federal bench in New Jersey.
L-R: Schwartzman, Wong, Cera, Plaza, Culkin — Kevin Winter/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — It’s officially been ten years since the cult smash movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World debuted in theaters and, to celebrate, the all-star cast is reuniting for a charity special.
While the movie, which starred Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Kieran Culkin, Jason Schwartzman, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Ellen Wong and Aubrey Plaza was technically a box office bomb, it rapidly obtained a cult following amongst video game and comic book fans.
10 years later, the cast of the action comedy is coming together again to not only celebrate the film’s aluminum anniversary, but to raise money for a worthy cause.
Plaza — who played the snarky Julie Powers — confirmed on Friday that the old gang was teaming up for a one time only table read to benefit Water for People on Monday.
“Monday July 20 at 1pm EST, join me & these freaks for the @EW 10th anniversary virtual read of SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD in support of @waterforpeople,” Plaza wrote on Sunday and teased a screenshot of the old cast and crew gathered together in a Zoom call-like setting.
The 36-year-old also explained what the charity Water for People does, which is “bringing cleaner and safer water to areas in need worldwide.”
The live read will not only entertain fans while raising money for a great cause, it’ll also reward watchers with an exclusive one-of-a-kind drawing that Cera flashed during the movie. Drawings from the creator of the Scott Pilgrim comic series, Bryan Lee O’Malley, will also be rewarded randomly to donors.
The table read kicks off Monday at 1 p.m. ET, 10 a.m. PT on Facebook Live.
