(MIRAMAR, Fla.) — Two days after a young boy was spotted wandering around a Florida parking lot, the Miramar Police Department still hasn’t found his mother.

The boy, approximately 2 or 3 years old, was identified after a photo of him was circulated on social media.

The boy’s aunt, Gina Lewis, told ABC affiliate WPLG that her sister, Leila Cavett, nor her family have any connections to South Florida.

The boy, police said, currently is “being cared for by a foster parent and has been provided with the necessary items” until his relatives can make the 12-hour drive from their hometown of Jasper, Alabama.

“Were in the middle of a pandemic,” Lewis told the station. “So it’s not like they were taking a vacation out of the blue with the baby. There’s no way.”

Cavett, 21, was last seen driving a white Chevy 3500 with a maroon or red tailgate and a “Baby on Board” sign on the passenger window, police said.

“We are concerned for her safety and well-being,” the Miramar Police Department said in Facebook and Twitter posts that included photos of the boy and of Cavett.

Boston cruise liner hit with cease and desist order after photo of crowded deck goes viral

(BOSTON) — A Massachusetts cruise liner has been hit with a cease and desist order after photos of a packed ship deck went viral over the weekend.

Bay State Cruise Company, which runs ferries between Boston and Provincetown, was ordered to stop operating just shortly after reopening as part of the state’s Phase III, Step 1 plans.

The Boston Public Health Commission and the state’s Department of Labor Standards hit the company with a cease and desist order Monday, saying that some of the activities, including the Summer Music Cruise and Group Charters with dancing, were not yet eligible to reopen. The letter added that the Department of Labor Standards has received complaints about these activities.

“This weekend’s mass gathering on a boat in the harbor represents a serious threat to public health, which is why today the Boston Public Health Commission together with the state’s Department of Labor Standards issued a cease-and-desist order to Bay State Cruise Company,” Boston’s mayor, Marty Walsh, said in a statement.

“We’ve made great sacrifices and worked hard over the last few months to stop the very real and very dangerous spread of COVID-19, and it’s vital every person and every business take this public health emergency seriously, and do their part to keep their families, neighbors and communities safe,” Walsh added.

In a photo posted to Twitter, passengers appeared to pack the deck of one of the ships, the Provincetown II, with little social distancing.

Bay State Cruise Company did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment on Tuesday.

On Monday, the company’s owner, Michael Glasfeld, responded to the viral photo in a statement, saying the ship — only the fourth cruise since the company reopened — sailed at 33% capacity.

Glasfeld also noted that the top deck was at roughly half its legal capacity and his employees were following all exercises they worked on to reopen safely and in accordance with the rules. His note highlighted some of the struggles many small business owners are navigating as they attempt to reopen.

“Clearly, this is a situation where the public’s view is far more important than whether or not we are conducting activities in accordance with regulations,” Glasfeld said in the statement. “We value our reputation as being a company that does the right thing, and we are working with the City of Boston’s Dept. of Health this week to further work on what needs working on.”

He continued, “We’ll get this right; we are committed to that effort and understand how, in our current environment, this photo has created such a stir.”

Sandra Bullock rings in 56th birthday with socially distanced party with Jennifer Aniston

Rich Fury/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Although COVID-19 may have altered Sandra Bullock’s plans to celebrate the big 5-6 in style, she still managed to pull off a fun and memorable birthday bash with her friends.

The Bird Box star invited some of her closest friends, including Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Paulson for her little get together on Sunday.

According to photos shared by attendees, Bullock made sure everyone abided by social distancing guidelines.

“Celebrating our girl properly distanced with so much love,” Aniston posted to her Instagram Stories, sharing the fun selfie Practical Magic star snapped of her intimate party.  “HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY WE LOVE YOU!!!”

She also threw in several red heart and a party face emoji.

The snap was taken in an outdoor patio setting with a decorative box of succulents situated on the table and shows all the attendees, who are sitting apart from each other, sporting face masks.

However, it’s apparent that everyone is having a great time and smiling broadly with Aniston and Paulson — who also shared the image to her respective IG stories — making goofy gestures with their hands.  Also pictured was Holland Taylor, who is genially waving at the camera.

Aniston and Bullock have been friends for years and even interviewed each other in February for Interview magazine where the two ribbed each other about actor Tate Donovan — whom they both dated in the 90s.

The two women joked that he definitely had “a type.”

Bullock turned 56 on July 26.

iStock/Vladimir Vladimirov(LOS ANGELES) — Regal Cinemas is opening its doors back up to U.S. moviegoers beginning on August 21, Deadline reports. The major theater chain, along with another, AMC, had shuttered amid the start of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic back in March.

At the moment its unsure how many of the company’s 549 locations will open up when the time comes — particularly with coronavirus hotspots popping up in California, Florida, and Arizona.

Regal had outlined a series of safety protocols that were established to keep its patrons safe: these included enhanced sanitary measures, and the mandate that its staff and customers wear masks.

Titles currently set to open domestically on August 21 are the mystery thriller Unhinged, which stars Russell Crowe and the horror film Antebellum which stars Janelle Monáe.

Garth Brooks hosting virtual press conference tomorrow

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAGarth Brooks announced on the Monday night edition of his Facebook Live show, Inside Studio Gthat he will be hosting a press conference Wednesday morning and is inviting fans to join in.

Though he was coy on what exactly the announcement entails, Garth says this will be more “personal” than his last major press conference, announcing his legendary show at Notre Dame Stadium in which he was the first artist to perform at the venue since it opened in 1930.

“The last big one you saw of ours was probably [former University of Notre Dame head football coach] Lou Holtz announcing the Stadium Tour at Notre Dame,” Garth said. “This one’s going to be…a lot more intimate and dealing with something not as ‘commercial’ as that, but something a little more along the personal lines meets career lines.”

Garth announced during last week’s show that his highly anticipated 14th studio album, FUN, is completed — he’s just waiting for the right time to release it.

The press conference will be streamed live on Garth’s Facebook page on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. ET.
