(LOS ANGELES) — While a few stars — Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson, specifically — have gone on record confirming some negative stories that have been reported regarding Ellen DeGeneres and her talk show, Katy Perry is stepping up to defend the host and the program.

“I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow,” Katy tweeted.

I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades,” Katy continued. “Sending you love & a hug, friend.”

By and large, the responses to Katy’s message were negative, with her fans asking Katy to check her privilege, nothing that “of course” she would have been treated well, being a huge star.  The employees of The Ellen DeGeneres Show who have spoken out about experiencing misconduct, racism and intimidation in the workplace, and an internal investigation has been launched.

Following the claims, DeGeneres issued an email to her staff, obtained by ABC News, in which she wrote, in part, “As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done.”

“Clearly some didn’t,” the message continues.  “That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”

(ST. ANTHONY, Idaho) — Preliminary hearings resumed Tuesday for Chad Daybell, who is charged in the case of two Idaho children found dead in June after a months-long search.

Daybell’s wife, Lori Vallow, who is the mother of the children, Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow, has also been charged.

The hearings began Monday and included harrowing testimonies from detectives who found the bodies of Tylee and JJ on Daybell’s property on June 9.

Detective Ray Dennis Hermosillo said on the stand that about two hours after the search began, detectives marked off an area at Daybell’s home where there was a “recognizable deceased body smell.”

Hermosillo said that sod was removed from the area and a black plastic bag, as well as a melted green bucket, were found.

The bag contained a round object that was protruding through the dirt, which was later determined to be the skull of JJ, according to Hermosillo.

JJ had been wearing red pajamas and black socks, and a white and blue blanket had been placed on top of him, Hermosillo said.

He was also found with a “large amount” of duct tape covering his head, arms and feet, according to Hermosillo.

The charred remains of Tylee were found in the melted green bucket, Hermosillo said.

Both remains were found about six to eight inches under the sod. The grandparents of JJ were seen in court weeping during the gruesome testimony.

Daybell, 51, was charged with two felony counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence after the remains were found on his property.

Vallow, whose preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 10, is facing two felony counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children and one misdemeanor count each of resisting and obstructing an officer, solicitation of a crime and contempt. She was arrested back in February.

Both have maintained their innocence.

In a testimony from Melanie Gibb, a friend of Daybell and Vallow, Gibb spoke about a phone call she had with Vallow in December — about three months after the children were last seen.

Gibb asks where the children are, specifically asking the whereabouts of JJ, according to audio of the call which was played in court.

Vallow replies saying she had to move him and was “keeping him protected.”

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Craig Sjodin – John Fleenor(LOS ANGELES) — Shortly after reports broke on Monday that original Bachelorette star Clare Crawley found love on set just two weeks into filming her upcoming season, it was rumored that Tayshia Adams will take over in handing out the roses.

Tayshia would become the second Black Bachelorette in franchise history, something that Rachel Lindsay is very excited to see.

Lindsay, who was the series’ first Black Bachelorette, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the historic shakeup.

“When I stepped in as Bachelorette, I wanted to pave a way for more diversity, for more people who look like me and who didn’t look like the typical lead,” she expressed. “So to see another Bachelorette of color, I’m thrilled.”

Lindsay has remained outspoken about improving Bachelor Nation’s lack of diversity and extensively lobbied to have more casting opportunities extended to people of color.

“I have been fighting for inclusion, and I‘ve said before that Tayshia would be an excellent Bachelorette, so I am more than happy to pass the torch,” the 35-year-old gushed. “I am so excited to see what she’s going to do, how she will represent herself and her journey to find love.”

Lindsay admitted that while she is very happy for Tayshia, more needs to be done about the lack of diversity within Bachelor Nation.

“I do still want to see some additional producers of all colors brought in,” She expressed. “But change is being made and I’m happy to see it.”

Lindsay also remarked that she is looking forward to the day where she isn’t asked for her opinion on the show, “I’d love to get to shut up about all this and step back, and this is a big step towards that.”

Overall, she plans to “watch this season as a proud fan.”
