After some Twitter confusion, Blake Shelton delivers answer to fans still waiting on refunds for canceled shows

No Comments Country Music News

ABC/Mark LevineEarlier this week, fans took to Twitter to alert Blake Shelton about some confusion surrounding his canceled 2020 Friends and Heroes Tour Dates.

Apparently, some people who’d bought tickets to now-canceled shows in five cities — Omaha, Denver, Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit — subsequently found that they were unable to access the promised refunds. Blake quickly lept into action, assuring fans that he and his crew “in NO WAY want to mislead or delay people getting their refunds…This is awful.”

Once he dug into the ticketing issue and realized how many third-party vendors were involved, he admitted to fans that the problem was a complicated “web” but he was committed to getting to the bottom of it.

Then just hours later, Blake issued a statement to help resolve the problem. Concert-goers who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster should log into their account and click “REFUND” under their order for seats at Blake’s canceled show.

Those who bought tickets through a third-party vendor should consult the point of purchase. Anyone who encounters further issues, Blake added, can email his team directly at blakeshelton2020@messinatouring.com.

The singer also issued a video statement to clarify that the Friends and Heroes Tour is indeed canceled — not postponed — although he plans to make stops at the same markets as soon as it is safe to do so.

“I have no idea at this point when that’s gonna be. Hopefully as soon as they say we can go tour again, we’ll be one of the first tours back out there. But I wanna be clear, it won’t be the Friends and Heroes Tour,” Blake explained.

Anyone who wishes to hold on to their ticket will have a guaranteed seat at the show when Blake is able to perform in their city again.

Will Simon Cowell return to 'America's Got Talent'?

No Comments Entertainment News

NBC(LOS ANGELES) — Kelly Clarkson has taken over for Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent as he nurses a back injury but she may not be there for long.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with AGT judges Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel, and based on their feedback, it seems Cowell may be back sooner rather than later.

Mandel, 64, shared, “We have been told he has been recovering tremendously. I would not count him out before the end of this season.”

“He’s had a six-hour operation and he is already on his feet, which is above and beyond expectation, so I am thrilled,” he added.

The judges also dished that, although Clarkson does a great job filling in, they can’t help but miss Cowell.

Klum, 47, admitted, “Obviously we miss the boss. There is no one who could actually take his place, even though Kelly did absolutely amazing today. [She did] an amazing job and she had so much fun, but no one is like Simon. That is just the way it is.”

Mandel agreed and said, “I think that Simon is irreplaceable and Kelly was brilliant. She’s done it. She’s a pro. She brings something to the table.”

Vergara, who is new to the AGT judging panel, echoed the same sentiment.

“I want Simon back. This is my first time. I want things to be normal,” the 48-year-old actress said.

As previously reported, Cowell broke his back in several places after crashing his e-bike on Sunday.  The media mogul remained in good humor over his injury, as he tweeted shortly after coming out of surgery, “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.”

AMC Theaters announces plans to start reopening US chains

No Comments Entertainment News

iStock/KLH49(LOS ANGELES) — AMC Theaters is taking steps to reopen after shuttering its chain worldwide months ago due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In an email release to the company’s “A List” members on Wednesday, the theater chain announced that movies will once again light up their screens starting August 20.

Should all go well, the company hopes to have roughly two-thirds of its franchises up and running once again by September 3.

The email states that “AMC Theaters are reopening” and that “We already have opened more than half of our theaters in Europe and the Middle East, safely and without incident, and will open all by August 26.”

Turning its focus to America, the Kansas-based company attested, “Here in the United States, we will begin opening AMC with more than 100 theaters resuming operations on August 20, and continuing such that about two-thirds of our theaters across the country should be open no later than September 3.”

The statement furthers, “The remaining AMC locations will open after we get further clearance from state and local authorities that it is safe to do so.”

Those eager to watch a movie on the big screen can check the opening status of their local AMC starting Thursday on the company’s website or by downloading its mobile app.

Among the spate of new movies the chain is readying to premiere are The New MutantsTenet and Unhinged

Due to several blockbusters pushing back their premiere dates or opting for the streaming route in light of the ongoing pandemic, AMC said it will fill the gaps in its schedules with hit films, like Beauty and the Beast and Inception.

Wildfires spreading in West, Lake fire forces evacuations

No Comments National News

ABC NewsBy MAX GOLEMBO, ABC News

(NEW YORK) — Wildfire season is in full effect Thursday as multiple fires throughout the West are being fueled by bone dry conditions.

The Lake fire broke out north of Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon and grew to 10,000 acres in just hours. It is currently 0% contained. Evacuations were issued for residences in the area.

In Oregon, the Mosier fire broke out and scorched 500 acres and is threatening 300 homes.

The Grizzly Creek fire in Colorado is now 4,624 acres, with evacuations continuing for some communities in the area.

Gusty winds and dry conditions were fueling the fires in Oregon and Colorado Wednesday and more gusty winds are expected Thursday.

Red flag warnings continue for the Rockies and the heat watches and warnings have been issued from Oregon, California and Arizona, where it could be as hot as 120 degrees in some areas Thursday.

The heat will expand over the next few days as temperatures are expected to reach 100s, even in the Pacific Northwest.

Meanwhile, large portions of the U.S. are dealing with significant rain.

A slow-moving storm system brought more than 10 inches of rain to southwestern Arkansas Wednesday, submerging neighborhoods there.

In Virginia and Maryland, up to 4 inches of rain in just a few hours produced causing flood rescues, and even a sinkhole to develop, swallowing cars and cutting off a neighborhood in Virginia.

More heavy rain is on the way from New Jersey to North Carolina. A Flash flood watch has been issued for the area for Thursday.

Some areas could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain in the next 48 hours.
