“7 Summers”: Morgan Wallen waxes nostalgic in his fan-selected new tune

No Comments Country Music News

Big Loud RecordsMorgan Wallen tells the sentimental story of a long-lost love in “7 Summers.” The new tune thinks back on a relationship that feels like only yesterday, even though it ended several years ago.

The singer says he decided to officially prelease “7 Summers” after testing the song out on social media and noticing what a strong resonance it had with fans. At first, he didn’t know if it was going to make the track list of his next album or even see the light of day.

“But when quarantine first started, I was challenged to do a demo on Instagram so I put out the first verse and chorus of ‘7 Summers’,” Morgan remembers.  “I heard a lot of good feedback from it on Instagram and it started making the rounds on TikTok — I saw how much the song was getting played and how much people were enjoying it.”

“Social media played a huge part in me releasing this song, especially so early,” he adds. “It’s a cool thing — me being on the fence about it, then being able to put it out and get people’s feedback. Seeing the response played the biggest part in this release.”

“7 Summers” follows Morgan’s current single, “More than My Hometown,” and another fan-selected release, “This Bar.”

The “Chasin’ You” hitmaker is currently at work on his sophomore album.

(LOS ANGELES) — A wildfire that broke out in Los Angeles earlier this week has spread to 11,000 acres as of Friday, according to authorities.

The Lake Fire, which grew to 10,000 acres in just a few hours on Wednesday, was more contained than it had been at 12%.

Cal Fire said that crews took advantage of improved weather conditions, with slightly lower temperatures and moisture from tropical storm Elida to battle the blazes.

However, “near critical fire weather” could develop later in the afternoon when warmer and drier conditions move through the area, according to Cal Fire.

No injuries have been reported yet, but officials said 5,420 structures were threatened and at least 100 structures were affected by the evacuation orders, according to ABC Los Angeles station KABC.

The fire, which broke out near the intersection of North Lake Hughes Road and Pine Canyon Road, has burned in some areas that have not burned since 1968, according to officials who spoke with KABC.

Evacuations orders have been in place for residents in the area.

(NEW YORK) — The Tribute in Light, a 9/11 commemoration that takes place over Lower Manhattan, has been canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This incredibly difficult decision was reached in consultation with our partners after concluding the health risks during the pandemic were far too great for the large crew required to produce the annual Tribute in Light,” according to a statement posted on the 9/11 Memorial & Museum website.

Organizers said they hope to resume the tribute for the 20th anniversary next year.

Tribute in Light is a public art installation in which twin beams of light are projected into the sky.

The beams reach up to four miles into the sky and are made of eighty-eight 7,000-watt xenon light bulbs positioned into two 48-foot squares, mimicking the Twin Towers before they were brought down in the terrorist attack.

The U.S. has the most cases in the world of the coronavirus at 5.2 million. New York City was considered the first epicenter in the country, though cases have since plateaued.

Report says 'Jurassic World: Dominion''s dino-sized COVID-19 precautions cost $9 million

Kevin Winter/Getty Images(LONDON) — When Jurassic World: Dominion became the first major studio film resume production last month following the COVID-19 shutdown, it came at a price: upwards of $9 million, according to The New York Times.

According to the paper, cast and crew in England have to follow a 107-page safety manual, and added expenses include renting out an entire hotel for the shoot’s participants for 20 weeks, as well as conducting some 18,000 COVID-19 tests.

Star Bryce Dallas Howard tells the paper, “Until now, actors were not really included in prep. But in order to get any of us on a plane, we had to thoroughly understand the protocols, who was involved and hear second and third opinions. We are the guinea pigs who are going to take the leap.”

Among those protocols is dividing the Universal Pictures film’s 750-person crew in half, with those essential to shooting being dubbed the “Green Zone” and the rest performing their duties off-set.

Sets are fumigated every day prior to shooting, and the actors’ chairs are spaced out with orange cones to enforce social distancing. Some 150 hand sanitizing stations were also installed, the paper details.

Howard wasn’t incorrect with her “guinea pig” analogyL the Times notes that as production ramps up on the Avatar sequels in New Zealand and the Marvel movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in Australia, other studios are looking to Jurassic World: Dominion as a pandemic safety production model going forward.

Jurassic World: Dominion, also starring Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill, is set for a June 11, 2021 opening.
