ABCMorgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album is spending its 10th week at number one on the Billboard 200.

Dangerous, which first topped the chart nine weeks ago and has been there ever since. It’s the first album to spend its first 10 weeks in the top spot since Whitney Houston‘s Whitney collection in 1987.  Whitney went on to spend an additional week there.

Dangerous is one of just four country albums to spend at least 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 since it began publishing the chart on a regular weekly basis in March of 1956. It joins Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ the WindBilly Ray Cyrus’ Some Gave All and Taylor Swift’s Fearless.

Wallen’s latest chart success comes a month after the artist was caught on video using a racial slur, leading to multiple stations across the country to remove his music from their playlists.

Additionally, his label, Big Loud Records, suspended his recording contract indefinitely and he was dropped by talent agency, WME. The Academy of Country Music also deemed Morgan and Dangerous ineligible for nominations at the 2021 ACM Awards.

He has since apologized for his language, promising “to do better.”

Johnny Depp's home broken into, intruder toasts to his own success

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — A man who successfully broke into actor Johnny Depp’s Hollywood Hills home did not take a single moment for granted.  Instead of grabbing riches and running off, the intruder instead made himself at home.

TMZ reports that a homeless man managed to get inside the Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s house on Thursday, according to police.

A neighbor alerted authorities after chasing away an apparently homeless man who was lurking by his pool.  The intruder took off and scaled the fence, where he landed on Depp’s property and took advantage of the situation.

The actor’s security team learned of the unknown man’s presence and called authorities — who arrived as the intruder was taking a nice hot shower.

The intruder also refused to leave the bathroom and police were forced to kick down the door, where authorities discovered that the man had also helped himself to Depp’s liquor cabinet.

While the intruder made himself a cocktail and take a shower, police say he committed a felony because he damaged a door to make his way inside.

The unnamed man was arrested and charged with felony vandalism.

This is the second time this year a stranger forced their way inside Depp’s mansion — the first being a woman who was arrested on suspicion of burglary back in January.

Miami Beach mayor's plea to spring break revelers: 'Please vacation responsibly'

No Comments National News

ABC NewsBy EMILY SHAPIRO, ABC News

(NEW YORK) — The mayor of Miami Beach said officials are “trying to get a handle on” the maskless revelers flooding the city’s entertainment district with no social distancing in sight.

Amid concerns of a COVID-19 surge following spring break parties, the city of Miami Beach declared a state of emergency for its entertainment district on Saturday. Pepper balls were used to control crowds Saturday night as law enforcement tried to enforce a new curfew. The Miami Beach City Commission has enacted a Thursday-to-Sunday 8 p.m. curfew for the entertainment district through the morning of April 12.

Miami reached a 9% positivity rate last week — the highest test-positivity rate of any large metro area in the U.S., according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

“It’s a very unmanageable situation,” Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber told ABC News’ Good Morning America Monday. “We’re the only real destination, it seems like, open across the country, so tens of thousands of people are flocking here.”

Neighboring towns have sent over police officers to help stem the crowds, the mayor said. Gelber asked Gov. Ron DeSantis for help, who has sent additional highway patrol officers to the city, he added.

“We’re trying to get a handle on it. And we’re only doing it through policing and a curfew and shutting down our causeways coming into our city in the evening,” Gelber said. “But that’s just a temporary stop. Hopefully it will calm down in a few weeks when other places open up and this pandemic really gets into the rearview mirror, where it’s not now.”

To those looking to party in Miami Beach, the mayor pleaded: “If you’re coming here because you think anything goes and the rules don’t apply … you’re wrong.”

“Please vacation responsibly,” he added.

'The Talk' reportedly goes on hiatus "indefinitely" following race flap

No Comments Entertainment News

Monty Brinton/CBS @2021 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved.(LOS ANGELES) — The Talk hiatus has been extended indefinitely in the wake of racial allegations centering on co-host Sharon Osbourme, according to Deadline is reporting.

The show was originally put on hiatus for two days last Sunday, and then extended until Tuesday, March 22. Now, CBS says the show will be on hold at least through next week, the trade reports.

The hiatus stems from a network investigation into the heated exchange about race related to Piers Morgan and his statements about Meghan Markle, between co-hosts Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood during the March 10 episode.

Osbourne apologized for the exchange via Twitter, and accused the producers deliberately orchestrated the on-air row.

Last week, Osbourne denied she’s a racist, telling Entertainment Tonight that she’d reached out to Underwood, but as of that point she hadn’t responded. “I can understand,” she said. “Sheryl needs her time.”

The conversation with ET came as former co-host Leah Remini leveled new accusations against Osbourne, claiming she used gay slurs regarding former co-host Sara Gilbert’s sexuality, and made bigoted comments about former co-host Julie Chen, who is Asian.

Holly Robinson Peete, an original host of the show, retweeted a 2011 video where the British personality told Remini on air that she was “ghetto” because of the way she spoke.

Photo by NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images(PENNSYLVANIA) — Killing Eve star Sandra Oh lent her voice to a “Stop Asian Hate” protest in Pittsburgh on Saturday, following a deadly shooting spree at three Atlanta-area spas that claimed the lives of eight people.

“Pittsburgh, I am so happy and proud to be here with you, and thank you to all the organizers for organizing this just to give us an opportunity to be together and to stand together and to feel each other,” said Oh, speaking to a masked crowd in a video posted by radio station KDKA.  “For many of us in our community, this is the first time we are even able to voice our fear and our anger, and I really am so grateful to everyone willing to listen.”

“I know many of us in our community are very scared,” the 49-year-old actress continued. “And I understand that. And one way to get through our fear is to reach out to our communities. I will challenge everyone here, if you see something will you help me?”

Oh went on to lead the protesters in chants saying, “I am proud to be Asian.”

Oh addressed the deadly Atlanta shooting in a statement Thursday on Instagram, writing, “I send loving kindness and support to the families of the eight souls murdered in Georgia on March 16. And to all the victims of racist violence.”

“I am devastated and profoundly angry. I know many of you are scared but let us not be afraid,” she added, along with the hashtag, “#itsanhonorjusttobeasian.
