"When you're old, you're old!" At 90, William Shatner says age isn't just a number

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC News/Stephen Iervolino(NEW YORK) — On this day in 1931, a legend was born: none other than William Shatner.

The Montreal native was already a veteran of the stage and small screen before 1966 when he donned the iconic gold uniform of James Tiberius Kirk, the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise on Star Trek, though it was a role with which he became synonymous long after Trek’s “five year mission” was canceled after three years by CBS.

He went on to voice Kirk in Star Trek: The Animated Series that followed, and in six big-screen films, one of which, Star Trek: V: The Undiscovered Country, he directed.

Shatner also lent his pipes to cult classic albums, most notably 1968’s The Transformed Man, in which he coined his particular style of talk-singing classics like “Mr. Tambourine Man“, saw small-screen success again as an L.A. cop in T.J. Hooker, written books, and had appearances on the big and small screen too numerous to mention.

As he rounded his 90th trip around the sun — in real life, not as Kirk — Shatner has been extremely busy; he recently told ABC Audio that he’d cut two albums, launched a podcast, shot his latest hit show The Unexplained for the History Channel, developed a book review project, and promoted his latest film, Senior Moment, all while in quarantine.

Incidentally, his character in that film is in denial about his age, until he learns you’re only as old as you feel. “And it’s ridiculous! Shatner bellowed to ABC Audio, laughing. You’re old! When you’re old you’re old! False information is being spread at him. When you’re 90, you’re 90!”

(NEW YORK) — Fans wanting to go to New York Rangers or New York Knicks games will have more options, including proof of vaccination, to enter the World Most Famous Arena starting on April 1.

Madison Square Garden announced guests will have three options for entry.

The first, a negative antigen test taken within 6 hours of the event start time. Antigen tests are more commonly known as rapid tests that can give you results as quickly as 15 minutes later.

The second is a negative PCR test from within the past 72 hours of the day of the event.

Ticket holders can use any healthcare provider for the testing.

The third is proof of vaccination. To be allowed entry you need to be fully vaccinated, which means the event must take place at least 14 days after your second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine or at least 14 days after the single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Documentation of the negative test or vaccine must come from the healthcare provider or performed the test or vaccination and each guest 18 years or old must present a government-issued ID. For anyone under 18, a government ID, school ID, or locally issued ID may be used.

Fans can present the results of their test or vaccination on a smartphone or with a physical copy.

New York State started allowing fans in major stadiums or arenas with a capacity of 10,000 people or more on February 23 but at only 10% capacity. For MSG, that comes out to around 2,000 fans for each event.

Fans were required to show proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event to be allowed entry.

Riker Brothers Brett Young is calling on fans to guess if he and wife Taylor are expecting a baby boy or girl.

The country crooner took to Instagram over the weekend to share a photo of a new ultrasound of the couple’s baby, prompting fans to reply in the comment section what sex they think it is.

Though there are several votes that it’s a girl, a majority of fans are placing their bets on it being a baby boy. Brett will officially reveal the answer during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

Brett and Taylor announced in January that they’re expecting their second child this summer. The baby will join older sister Presley Elizabeth, whom the couple welcomed in October 2019.

The two leading ladies in Brett’s life serve as the inspiration for his current single, “Lady,” which is inching its way toward the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Added Carson, “I’m learning to celebrate my body the way it is now and celebrate the small successes to a HEALTHY body, spirit, and mind.”

“You look soooo FIRE,” added Murgatroyd.

DWTS competitor and fellow mom Nikki Bella, who is engaged to pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev, praised, “You look SO incredible! Amazing that that body not too long ago made and brought beautiful and healthy Leo into this world!”
