Luke Combs recalls playing "Beautiful Crazy" for wife Nicole: "It was a baller move"

No Comments Country Music News

ABCWhile Luke Combs appreciates each of his songs, there’s one in particular that holds special meaning.

During an appearance on Lindsay Czarniak‘s podcast The Artist and the AthleteLuke shared the story behind one of his many hits, “Beautiful Crazy,” which was inspired by his now-wife, Nicole.

Luke wrote the song after the two had been seeing each other for a few months and played it for her one night at her downtown Nashville apartment while she had company over, knowing it would make a strong first impression on her friend.

“I’m not much of a ladies man, but I was pretty proud of this one. It was a total baller move,” he describes of his wife hearing the romantic ballad for the first time, adding that she “loved” it.

“There’s no way that any other song will top that as far as sentimental value for me,” Luke declares.

“Beautiful Crazy” spent multiple weeks at #1 and was named Song of the Year at the 2019 CMA Awards. It also became the couple’s first dance song at their wedding in 2020.

Andy Cohen reveals we've all been pronouncing Khloé Kardashian's name wrong

No Comments Entertainment News

Andrew Lipovsky/NBC(NEW YORK) — Just when you think there’s nothing left to reveal about clan Kardashian, comes this nugget courtesy of Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen: We’ve all been pronouncing Khloé Kardashian’s name wrong.

“It’s ‘Khloé” — pronounced Kloh-AY — Cohen revealed to Jimmy Fallon on Monday night’s installment of The Tonight Show. “There’s an accent!”

Turns out, it was a revelation for Fallon as well, one Cohen confirmed when preparing to interview the family for the documentary For Real: The Story of Reality TV.

Fallon was disbelieving, but Cohen insisted that Khloé’s mom Kris Jenner herself commended him for being the only one to get it right, like, ever.

For Real: The Story of Reality TV premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on E!

Save your hashtags: Warner Bros. says there won't be a "SnyderVerse" after his re-cut 'Justice League'

No Comments Entertainment News

Clay Enos/HBO Max(LOS ANGELES) — Sorry, Zack Snyder fans: it looks like there won’t be a extended DC Comic movie universe based on his hit, extended cut of Justice League — no matter how much you hashtag it.

You can’t blame ’em for trying. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut grew to be a viral movement so strong it eventually persuaded Warner Bros. to invest millions to allow Snyder to reassemble and eventually release the film on HBO Max, following the disappointment of the Joss Whedon’s re-shot version.

The success of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut led to the currently-trending #RestoreTheSnyderVerse — with fans hoping the universe Snyder resurrected would thematically continue, a la the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, WarnerMedia Studios CEO Ann Sarnoff tells Variety it’s not meant to be.

While Sarnoff tells the trade she was “happy” that HBO Max gave Snyder the opportunity to “complete his vision,” of his DC heroes trilogy — including Man of SteelBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League — his vision is, apparently, officially complete.

And as for the success of another viral fan campaign? Looks like a one-off. “On balance, you of course want to listen to your fans, but we do want to stay true to our vision and our mission for DC and build that out,” the exec explains.

That strategy seems to be another attempt to imitate the success of Marvel Studios, in the wake of its hit MCU small-screen crossovers WandaVision and Falcon And The Winter Solider

“My mantra coming in was to make [the DC universe] bigger and broader…with more connective tissue across the various media and platforms,” Sarnoff says. “I’m talking movies, HBO Max, television and our games division.”

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC Audio.

No Comments Country Music News

ABCWith “What’s Your Country Song?” Thomas Rhett continues his reign of having the most consecutive #1 country hits of any other artist on country radio.

Thomas achieved the feat by simultaneously topping both the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs chart this week with his latest track, which becomes his 11th consecutive #1 song.

“What’s Your Country Song?” is Thomas’ 17th #1 hit overall and the lead single off his forthcoming double album, Country Again: Side A, out on April 30.

“I can hardly wrap my mind around seventeen. What an unreal way to kick off this new chapter of music,” Thomas says. “I’m so grateful to the fans and radio for reacting to this one right away after I played a little of it on Instagram basically a year ago — it’s crazy to see it all come full circle. I cannot wait to share the rest with y’all!”

The new album follows 2019’s Center Point Road, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

HBO Max/Warner Bros. Pictures(LOS ANGELES) — For the first time in six months, Cinemark’s Regal Cinemas chain will reopen, following shutdowns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deadline reports the nation’s second largest theater chain will start things off with a limited opening on April 2, with the release of Godzilla Vs. Kong, and will open more theaters across the country timed for the April 16 release of Mortal Kombat.

The trade further reports Regal has inked a deal with Warner Bros., the studio behind both films, to bring all of its 2021 titles to the big screen exclusively for 45 days.

WB announced earlier this year that its entire 2021 slate would simultaneously be released on theaters and HBO Max, including titles like The Suicide Squad and the upcoming Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark
