“Classic”: Cam dials up the glam vibes in her vintage-inspired new music video

• No Comments • Country Music News

Triple TigersCam takes her cues from the glamorous days of 1950s-era Hollywood in the music video for “Classic,” her latest single, which is a rose-tinted look back at bygone days. The colorful new video was filmed at Nashville’s White Limozeen, a Dolly Parton-themed rooftop bar.

The singer says that while her new song may be a fun, bubbly tribute to the past, there’s something more reflective going on under the surface.

“I seem to be looking back to the past a lot these days. Untangling the truth from the stories in my nostalgia and my identity,” Cam muses. “You gotta know where you come from to know where you are going, right? So this video is my own vintage feminine exercise.”

Plus, it gave her a chance to pay homage to some of her idols of the time period.

“I got to dress up as Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Audrey Hepburn and dance around the bright pinks and retro vibe of the White Limozeen,” Cam adds.

“Classic” is featured on Cam’s upcoming album, The Otherside, which is slated for release on October 30. Other previously-shared songs from the project include “Redwood Tree,” “Diane,” and “Till There’s Nothing Left.”

Gusty winds and record heat forecast for Northern and Southern California

• No Comments • National News

ABC NewsBy MAX GOLEMBO, ABC News

(NEW YORK) — Gusty, dry winds are expected on Thursday and Friday for parts of northern California where the Glass and Dolan Fires are burning as winds could gust up to 30 mph.

Currently, 24 major fires are burning in California, forcing about 98,000 people to flee their homes.

The Glass Fire in Napa County has burned through more than 56,000 acres and is 5% contained. The Zogg Fire, which has killed four people, has scorched more than 55,000 acres in Shasta County and is 26% contained.

More record heat is expected from San Diego and Los Angles up to Northern California. A red flag warning is in effect beginning on Thursday afternoon through much of Friday for the North Bay, Central Mendocino County, Western Monterey County, and most of the Los Padres National Forest for gusty winds and low humidity.

Here is closer look at the San Francisco Bay area advisories and warnings as the city is under a heat advisory where it could be in the 90s Thursday.

On Wednesday, record highs were broken in Long Beach which reached 105 degrees, LAX hit 92 and Sacramento peaked at 102.

There is some good news going into the weekend as some slight cooling is possible by Sunday for most of California with temperatures coming down into the 80s for some areas.

Two of the largest wildfires in California’s history, the LNU and SCU Lightning Complexes, are now 100% contained after they burned for more than two months. The August Complex Fire, the largest in the state’s history, is nearing 1 million acres burned and is 47% contained.

More than 8,100 wildfires have burned over 3.9 million acres across California this year, killing 30 people and destroying more than 7,500 structures.

CAL Fire has arrested 68 people on arson charges this year — 46 of whom started wildland fires, the agency announced Thursday.

Sacha Baron Cohen tackles COVID-19, American politics in trailer for 'Borat' sequel

• No Comments • Entertainment News

Amazon Studios(LOS ANGELES) — Sacha Baron Cohen is back — and as outlandish as ever — in the trailer for the Borat sequel, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.

Following the 2006 debut of the loose-cannon character that is Borat, mastermind Cohen is stepping back into his famous “mankini,” now made out of surgical masks, to journey from Kazakhstan to America during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the just-released trailer, Borat reveals that he’s returning to the United States to carry out a secret mission. “I here to give my daughter as a gift to someone close to the throne,” he says in a voiceover, the camera panning to a shot of the White House.

Plenty of shenanigans await the father-daughter duo, ranging from staying at a stranger’s cabin in the woods to quarantine from COVID-19, to bursting into a Mike Pence rally wearing a Donald Trump mask with his daughter thrown over his shoulder, yelling through the crowd, “I brought the girl for you!”

The film, which in its entirety is titled, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, was filmed in secret earlier this year.

Deadline reports that Subsequent was the first movie made during the mass production shutdown due to COVID-19. Cohen flew to America as COVID-19 restrictions were being lifted this summer to shoot the film with a limited crew.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm debuts on Amazon Prime on October 23.

Jason Aldean’s wife remembers Route 91 Harvest Festival on the 3rd anniversary of the mass shooting

• No Comments • Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAOctober 1 marks a somber anniversary for the country community. On this date in 2017, a mass shooting took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, killing 60 people and injuring over 800 more.

The massacre began when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd, which was gathered on the Las Vegas strip, from his window on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel. At the time, Jason Aldean was performing his headlining set, near the end of a three-day bill that also included Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Maren Morris and more.

On the three-year anniversary of the massacre, Jason’s wife, Brittany, who was at the festival and eight months pregnant at the time with her son, Memphis, spoke out in remembrance of the shooting and those who lost their lives.

“On one hand it seems like an eternity ago, a nightmare you try to forget. On the other hand, its vividness makes it seem like it was yesterday,” Brittany wrote on social media. “…The sound, the chaos, the overwhelming sadness and heartache…it’s something that never leaves you.”

She went on to offer her thoughts and condolences to those who lost loved ones at the shooting.

“We are thinking of each and every one of you today and every day,” she added. “And to the men and women who ran towards the bullets to protect all of us…WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL.”

• No Comments • Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAKane Brown will take the stage of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium this month for a livestream concert, in a sponsored show that’s part of his brand partnership with Dr. Pepper & Cream Soda.

Even though fans won’t get to see Kane up close and in person, the singer’s finding fun ways to make his show interactive. Viewers can vote for the songs they want to hear during the show, which is available to watch at Dr. Pepper Music’s website.

Ahead of his show, Kane explained to Variety that due to the fact that he’s been releasing new music during the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s got a lot of material he’s itching to test out in front of a crowd.

“It will be great to get out and be able to play some new songs that I haven’t got to play in a show yet,” he said, adding “hopefully by the time we’re able to get back out to fully touring [fans] know all the words to the new ones, too.”

The singer went on to say that he hopes the set list for his upcoming show will keep viewers on their toes. “I think you can expect to hear some of the new songs, some of the ones we started out with together and some surprises,” he hints.

Kane has been busily releasing new music over the past few months, including dropping his latest EP, Mixtape Vol. 1. Most recently, he shared the music video for the second single off that project, “Worldwide Beautiful.”

The singer’s livestream show at the Ryman will take place on October 8.
