Kenny Chesney readies 'Here and Now Deluxe,' adding four new songs to the track list

No Comments Country Music News

Warner Music NashvilleKenny Chesney might not be able to hit the road and see his fans in person in 2021, but that doesn’t mean he can’t deliver some surprises. The singer has revealed plans for a deluxe edition of his Here and Now project, which will feature four brand-new songs.

Those songs are titled “Fields of Glory,” “My Anthem,” “Streets” and “Wind On,” the latter of which was co-written by “Dust on the Bottle” star David Lee Murphy. Kenny had a hand in co-writing “Streets.”

The new music, which will round out the twelve songs already on Here and Now, was inspired by Kenny’s time spent in quarantine, the singer explains.

“Being home, writing with friends, recording with people who inspire you — This time has taught me to really be in the moment, to share more music,” Kenny reflects. “Some of these songs will spark an immediate hunger for things we all love; some of them I think people will think about for days and days after they hear them.”

Here and Now Deluxe will arrive on May 7, but you can pre-order it beginning Friday.

In the meantime, Kenny’s “Knowing You,” the fourth single off of Here and Now, is currently climbing the country radio charts.

Johnny Depp loses UK court appeal attempt in "wife beater" case

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Randy Holmes(LONDON) — Johnny Depp was handed another legal setback in a U.K. courtroom Thursday morning.

According to The Guardian, a judge denied the actor’s appeal of a ruling against him in his libel case against the tabloid The Sun, which portrayed Depp as a “wife beater” during his rocky marriage to Justice League actress Amber Heard.

After a high-profile case last July, in which Heard and Depp leveled abuse accusations against each other, a judge dismissed Depp’s libel claim, ruling the Sun‘s accusations in an April 2018 story were “substantially true.”

Depp’s appeal centered on the fact that Heard hadn’t donated to charity the $7 million she was granted in a divorce settlement, as she promised to do at the time, and so that “calculated and manipulative lie,” as his attorneys called it, “tipped the scales against Mr. Depp from the very beginning.”

However, The Guardian reports the judge on Thursday dismissed those claims, ruling “We do not accept that there is any ground for believing that the [previous] judge may have been influenced” by claims of the donation to rule in Heard’s favor.

'The Goldbergs' pays tribute to cast member George Segal; his final episode airs April 7

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — ABC’s hit sitcom The Goldbergs paid tribute Wednesday night to co-star George Segal, who died Tuesday at 87 following complications from bypass surgery.

The veteran actor played Albert “Pops” Solomon, the WWII vet and ladies man father of Wendi McLendon-Covey’s Beverly Goldberg, and grandad and pal to Sean Giambrone’s Adam.

Wednesday night’s episode ended with a photo of a smiling Segal, wearing a baseball shirt decorated with “Pops” on it. A title card read “In Memoriam 1934-2021.”

Segal’s final The Goldbergs episode filmed before his death is set to air April 7. Because he played such an integral role on the 80s-set sitcom, it’s possible his death will be addressed in the show, but that has yet to be confirmed.

In a statement released Wednesday, the show’s “devastated” cast noted of Segal, “He was kind, sweet, beyond talented and funny,” and that the “national treasure” and Oscar-nominated actor “was the true epitome of class and he touched all of our lives so deeply.”

Their tribute said it was “an honor and a privilege to have him as a colleague and friend all of these years.”

(BOULDER, Colo.) — The 21-year-old accused of gunning down 10 people, including a police officer, at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday made his first court appearance Thursday.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, of Arvada, Colorado, was taken into custody about 50 minutes after the shooting was reported. He was charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder and one count of criminal attempt — murder in the first degree.

At Thursday’s court appearance, prosecutors said additional charges are expected in the next few weeks.

Defense attorneys said more time is needed to assess Alissa’s mental health.

Alissa was held without bail and the judge ordered a status conference to take place in about 60 to 90 days.

A possible motive has not been released. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the suspect bought a Ruger AR-556 pistol on March 16.

The Boulder community gathered in grief at a candlelight vigil Wednesday night, singing “Amazing Grace” through their masks.

The 10 victims range in age from 20 to 65 and include Boulder police officer Eric Talley, who was the first member of law enforcement to arrive at the scene.

The other victims were identified as: Denny Stong, 20; Neven Stanisic, 23; Rikki Olds, 25; Tralona Bartkowiak, 49; Suzanne Fountain, 59; Teri Leiker, 51; Kevin Mahoney, 61; Lynn Murray, 62; and Jody Waters, 65.

As Talley’s body was escorted from the coroner’s office to the funeral home on Wednesday, fellow officers gathered on roads and overpasses to show their support.

ABCAhead of the release of her single “You All Over Me (From The Vault),” ABC’s Good Morning America got an exclusive sneak peek at Taylor Swift‘s song featuring Maren Morris.

The song, which drops Friday, features Morris singing background vocals.

“You All Over Me” is one of six new songs that Swift wrote in 2008, but never recorded. They’ll be included in the rerecorded version of her album Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

The Grammy winner announced the release of “You All Over Me” on social media Wednesday.

“One thing I’ve been loving about these From The Vault songs is that they’ve never been heard, so I can experiment, play and even include some of my favorite artists,” Swift wrote on Twitter. “I’m really excited to have Maren Morris singing background vocals on this song!!!”

This isn’t the first time Morris and Swift have sung together.  In 2018, the two performed Morris’ hit song, “The Middle,” while on Swift’s Reputation tour in Dallas.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will be released next month.
