Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd pays tribute to her on what would have been her 64th birthday

• No Comments • Entertainment News

Barry King/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Carrie Fisher’s daughter, actress Billie Lourd, paid tribute to the late Star Wars star on what would have been her 64th birthday Wednesday.

Lourd, who announced the birth of her first child last month, shared a throwback photo of a pregnant Fisher along with a caption in her late mother’s signature style of emojis.

Fisher was 60 years old when she died in 2016 after suffering cardiac arrest.

Lourd, 28, posts about her late mother regularly on social media. Most recently, she shared a quote from the actress to mark World Mental Health Day. This past May, Lourd also shared a heartfelt note to others for whom Mother’s Day is difficult.

“Sending my love to anyone who has lost a mother and anyone who might just be having a complicated Mother’s Day this year,” she wrote. “This is my 4th Mother’s Day without my Momby and days like today are never easy, but I’ve found that doing things that make me feel more connected to her make it a little easier — watching her favorite movies, listening to music we listened to together, looking through old pictures and my personal favorite — eating + drinking things she loved.”

Mark Hamill also celebrated his Star Wars co-star Wednesday, sharing a photo of them giving each other an amicable smooch and writing on Twitter, “Happy Birthday Carrie Frances Fisher. The world will never stop missing you.”

Dierks Bentley hints that he’s got big plans coming with a series of social media teasers

• No Comments • Country Music News

ABC/Chris HolloDierks Bentley has been out of the spotlight for a little while, but it seems like he might be ready to make his return to country music.

The “Living” star started posting a series of enigmatic teaser clips to social media this week, hinting at something to come in the not-so-distant future. Each video gives a little bit of a clearer picture of what may be coming, although the details are still murky.

The first clip merely pans across Dierks’ face as he stares off into the distance, idly holding a whiskey glass, before the date “10.22” flashes across the screen. Later in the week, though, the singer started to fill in the gaps. We see him in the studio, singing the lyrics “I’ve been gone…”

Finally, on Wednesday, Dierks revealed that he’s got a world premiere of…well, something, planned for Thursday at 12pm ET. He also reflected a bit on a return to music that, for him, has been a long time coming.

“Music has always been one of those things that has always been there,” he says. “We’re all singers. We’re all storytellers. That’s how we communicate as a society. Certainly there’s nothing like country music. I sure do miss it.”

After the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S. early this year, Dierks high-tailed it out of Nashville for an extended vacation in Colorado, to soak up much-needed family time and enjoy the outdoors.

He’s got the haircut to prove it, too: In the new teaser series, the singer’s sporting a longer, shaggier, mullet-esque look.

• No Comments • Entertainment News

ABC/Jeff Neira(NEW YORK) — Ryan Seacrest is back in the co-host chair on Live With Kelly and Ryan after testing negative for COVID-19.

After a two-day hiatus, Seacrest returned to the New York City studio to join co-host Kelly Ripa. He sat out Monday and Tuesday’s shows while awaiting his COVID test results.

People reports that Seacrest got tested after having a “minimal cough” and returned to set once the results came back negative.

The news of his return was confirmed on the official Live With Kelly and Ryan Instagram account on Tuesday. It was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video of Ripa hosting the show solo.

“We have all of these new restrictions now so this is one, you have to wait until it comes back negative before you can get in here,” she explained. “We take it seriously, it’s public health.”

Kelly and Ryan returned to the studio in September and has been filming without an audience.

Universal(LOS ANGELES) — Jordan Peele’s remake of the classic horror film Candyman has been pushed back to next year.

Deadline reports Universal and MGM has decided to delay the movie’s release until Aug. 27, 2021 after filming was postponed due to COVID-19 earlier this year. The film was initially postponed from its previous June 2020 release date to Sept. 25th.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, the Candyman remake stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett from Misfits.

The new film is billed as the “spiritual sequel” to the original 1992 Candyman, which followed the son of a slave who became an artist. He was later mutilated and killed by a lynch mob hired by his lover’s father, prompting his spirit to seek revenge.

Morgan Wallen and his 3-month-old son are twinning in adorable new Halloween costume snapshot

• No Comments • Country Music News

ABC/Image Group LAMorgan Wallen’s son, Indigo Wilder, may only be three months old, but he’s already proving that he takes after his famous papa.

The singer’s ex-fianceé, KT Smith, shared a photo on social media this week showing off their son’s new Halloween costume, and it’s a perfect replica of Morgan’s signature look. In the snapshot, little Indie dons a sleeveless flannel shirt, jeans, a clip-on earring and a ball cap.

Of course, the look wouldn’t be complete without a nod to the “7 Summers” star’s signature mullet, and Indie brings the whole thing together with his dad’s unmistakable crooked grin.

Back in July, Morgan shared the news with fans that he was a new dad, vowing in an emotional social media post that he was dedicated to being a good father and co-parent with KT. He admitted that the prospect of having a child initially scared him, but that after his son’s birth, it was “the coolest damn feeling.”

In recent weeks, Morgan has taken a step back from the spotlight, following his removal from a Saturday Night Live episode. He was scheduled to give his first performance on the show but in the days leading up to the event, the singer appeared in several TikTok videos partying without a mask on and kissing multiple women.

“I think I’ve lost myself a little bit,” he reflected after losing his SNL spot, going on to say that he planned to avoid the public eye for a little while and work on himself.

Fans can still catch Morgan during tonight’s CMT Music Awards: He’s among the acts scheduled to perform during the show.
