Mel Gibson says 'Lethal Weapon 5' is "absolutely" a go

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — At 64 and 74 years old, respectively, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are evidently not “too old for this…” er, stuff.

The pair are “absolutely” reuniting with director Richard Donner, who’s 90, for a fifth Lethal Weapon movie, Gibson told Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan.

Gibson was promoting his role as a disgruntled Santa in the new revenge movie Fatman when Strahan asked about the movie series and the 1987 original, which many fans consider a go-to Christmas movie, because of the holiday season in which it’s set.

So will Riggs and Murtaugh ride again?

“[A]bsolutely,” Gibson replied. “And the man behind all that, the man who brought it to the screen, and gave it the goodies is working on it right now,” Gibson said of Donner, adding, “He’s a legend.”

The last time the gang was all together — including Rene Russo and Joe Pesci — was 1998’s Lethal Weapon 4. No word on if the latter pair will also be a part of the fifth film.

Fatman, which also stars Walton Goggins and Marianne Jean-Baptiste, is now playing, and comes to Video On Demand platforms November 24.

Eric Church, George Strait and more join Willie Nelson for epic, full-length concert film

No Comments Country Music News

Courtesy of Blackbird PresentsWillie Nelson is at the center of a just-announced new concert film and music release called Willie Nelson American Outlaw. The event was taped at a massive tribute concert to Willie’s legacy and career, which took place in January of 2019 in Nashville.

Eric Church, George Strait, Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow and The Avett Brothers are just a few of the superstar acts who took the stage that night, performing their favorites from Willie’s massive discography as well as a few self-penned tributes to the living legend.

For example, singer-songwriter Jack Johnson offered up a hilarious  — and all-too-true — original song called “Willie Got Me Stoned” during the event. Other highlights include Chris Stapleton’s take on “Whiskey River,” Vince Gill’s ethereal “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” Jimmy Buffett’s “The Harder They Come” and many more.

Of course, no Willie Nelson jam session would be complete without Willie himself, and the man of the hour also performed during the unforgettable event.

Willie Nelson American Outlaw is available for pre-order now; it’ll be released in full on December 11.

Jason Momoa is agonizing about his daughter soon being old enough to date

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Rick Rowell(LOS ANGELES) — Jason Momoa is starting to feel the pains of fatherhood all over again.

His teenage daughter Lola is fast approaching the age where girls start to become a little boy crazy, which the Aquaman star admits he is dreading the day when he inevitably meets the first boyfriend she parades through the door.

Momoa said he cried when his little girl turned 13 and is not looking forward to her hitting the big 1-4 next month.

“I’m not going to do well with it,” the 6’4″ actor jokingly confessed in the December issue of Men’s Health. “I’ll just hate it if she brings home some [idiot] bad boy.”

Momoa added that he’s been dropping hints about what kind of person he would be open to her dating, adding, “I’m like, ‘If you find a man who treats you better than I [treat Lisa Bonet], good luck!”

However, the Dune star may have a silent way of letting that future boyfriend know he’s toast if he breaks Lola’s heart.

When referencing his height and intimidating muscular build, Momoa noted, “Hawaiians are big people. I rock climb a lot. Maybe I’m an ape.”

Continued the actor, “I love the way it feels. I like being upside down. I always loved climbing trees as a kid and swinging in the breeze. But lifting weights is challenging.”

Thankfully for the father of two, Lola isn’t interested in boys just yet.  In fact, she’s more like Belle from Beauty and the Beast because she’s obsessed with books.

“I’m like, ‘Stop reading! Get outside.’ It’s insane,” the 41-year-old actor laughed, noting that her brother, 11-year-old Nakoa-Wolf, is just as bad. “I can’t believe it—they love reading.”

Momoa shares both Lola and Nakoa-Wolf with wife Lisa Bonet.

Reps deny Harvey Weinstein is "severely ill" with COVID-19

No Comments Entertainment News

Scott Heins/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Despite a report to the contrary this week from TMZ, Harvey Weinstein does not have COVID-19 and is not “severely ill,” according to his spokesman.

ABC News obtained a statement from Juda Engelmayer, a rep for the disgraced movie mogul, and Craig Rothfeld, Weinstein’s authorized New York State Department of Corrections spokesman. Their comments read in part: “[W]e can report that Mr. Weinstein’s fever has dropped but is still being closely monitored. We can also report at this time that he does not have COVID-19.”

They added, “Mr. Weinstein continues to be very closely monitored due to plethora of underlying health issues which are continuing to decline, get worse, and need treatment.”

The statement also thanked, “the healthcare and medical team at Wende [Correctional Facility] and the [NYC Department of Corrections] Central Office who have been working with us very closely to ensure all his health issues will be addressed in a timely manner.”

In March, the former movie producer was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his convictions on rape and sexual assault.

Weinstein was sentenced in New York to 20 years for criminal sexual assault for forcing oral sex on a victim. That sentence was ordered to run consecutively with a three-year sentence for the third-degree rape of another woman.

It was announced last month by the LA County District Attorney that he now faces three new counts of rape and three new counts of forcible oral copulation involving the two women.

Overall, Weinstein faces an additional 11 sexual assault counts involving five women in California, which could add an additional 140 years to life in state prison, on top of his 23-year sentence.
