Amber Riley is engaged: "I’m looking at a man who changed my mind" about "love"

No Comments Entertainment News

ABCAmber Riley is officially off the market and happily engaged to her boyfriend Desean Black.

The Glee actress and singer shared a romantic photo of herself and her fiance on Instagram, where she also posted a video of herself admiring her her soon-to-be hubby while showing off her stunning ring.

“There was a time when I thought I didn’t want or deserve this kind of love. I’m looking at a man who changed my mind,” wrote Riley. “My time by myself, loving on myself, getting comfortable with myself, prepared me for you, and prepared me for this.”

She continued, “I am so proud to say, I am the future Mrs. Black. I love you @deseanblack_official and I thank you for your patience, your friendship, and your partnership!”

In the comments, Lena Waithe, Gabrielle Union and Francia Raisa, as well as fellow Glee star Matthew Morrison, wished Riley well on her engagement.

Black shared the same post on his Instagram account, adding his own heartfelt message about the woman who he says brings him “unconditional love.”

“Fellas, when a woman looks at you like this, it’s a clear indication that you’re doing the right thing,” he wrote. “Now, when she delivers unconditional love that you’ve never experienced, it’s another clear indication that you’ve found the one. Only a fool would let someone as special as this slip away.”

“So I did what any wise man would do and put a ring on it. I love you to pieces @msamberpriley, or should I say the future Mrs. Black,” he added. “#happilyengaged A king will always protect his queen.”

“Hi fiance,” wrote Riley in Black’s comments.

This past summer, Riley’s Glee co-star Jenna Ushkowitz also got engaged, to her boyfriend of two years, David Stanley.

Chris Armstrong ’90s country great Hal Ketchum has died at the age of 67.

Hal’s wife Andrea Ketchum confirmed his passing on his official Facebook page today.

“With great sadness and grief we announce that Hal passed away peacefully last night at home due to complications of dementia. May his music live on forever in your hearts and bring you peace,” she writes.

Born in New York in 1953, Ketchum later migrated south to Texas, where he cut his teeth performing at clubs around the state as a singer/songwriter.

After moving to Nashville and signing a record deal with Curb, he had a thriving career throughout the 1990s. His 1991 debut album Past the Point of Rescue spawned four singles, a pair of which reached number two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart: “Small Town Saturday Night” and the title track. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.

The title track of his 1992 album Sure Love peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, while “Hearts Are Gonna Roll” reached number two and “Mama Knows the Highway” hit number eight.

Throughout the decade, Ketchum reached the top 20 with hits including “I Know Where Love Lives” and a cover of the Vogues‘ “Five O’Clock World.” He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1994.

At the 1997 CMA Awards, Ketchum was nominated for Musical Event of the Year for his contribution to a remake of Charlie Daniels’ “Long Haired Country Boy,” recorded with Daniels and John Berry.

In 1998, Hal was diagnosed with rare neurological disease acute transverse myelitis, which caused the left side of his body to become paralyzed. Andrea shared in April 2019 that he was retiring amid a battle with dementia.

“I love Sofía’s voice and I’ve always wanted to learn some Spanish. And who better to learn from than her?” Brett shares, with Sofia adding, “I’m so happy to work with Brett. It’s an honor and I think you’ll love the Spanish version of this song.”

The country star previously released “Baby It’s Cold Outside” as a duet with Meghan Trainor on his Christmas album, Glow.

Brett’s set to perform on The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, airing Thanksgiving Day on ABC at 9 p.m. ET, along with Christmas in Rockefeller Center December 2 on NBC at 9 p.m. ET.
