COVID-19 outbreak hits CBS Studio; 'Mythic Quest' set has second coronavirus outbreak in two months

No Comments Entertainment News

Apple TV+(LOS ANGELES) — Variety reports that the Apple TV+ show Mythic Quest has been shuttered for the second time, after its Los Angeles set was hit with its second COVID-19 outbreak in less than two months.

The reported outbreak of 16 cases were reported at CBS Studio Center’s Bungalow 3 studio, where Mythic Quest shoots, in the beginning of November, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reports.

The Radford Avenue studio complex has been home to four such COVID-19 clusters and 41 positive cases, according to L.A. County stats. The shows Why Women Kill and Call Your Mother, which also shoot at the facility, were temporarily shuttered last month.

A spokesperson for Lionsgate, which produces Mythic Quest, tells Variety that “several team members” on the Apple TV+ show had tested positive and are in quarantine. Calling the health and safety of its personnel the highest priority, the spokesperson insists, “We are following the extensive health and safety protocols we have in place…”

Ironically, Mythic Quest, which was created by star Rob McElhenney and his Always Sunny co-star Charlie Day, was one of the first shows to face the pandemic head-on. In May, when most shows were shuttered, McElhenney and company created its groundbreaking Quarantine Episode, for which its stars recorded themselves locked down, in character.

On their 15th anniversary, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are looking forward to their next 15 years

Paul Morigi/Getty ImagesGarth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are celebrating their 15th anniversary of marriage today, and looking back on the time that’s elapsed since they tied the knot, Garth describes it as “the best 15 years of my life.”

Garth goes on to explain that the superstar couple got married in 2005, but they actually met back in the late ‘80s. That means that they’ve now been married for nearly the same amount of time that they knew each other before making it official.

“This is the second 15 years of our life. That’s the crazy thing,” Garth points out. “We met in ‘87, ‘88…got married in 2005. So, we went through the first phase as friends…and [then] the first 15 years as husband and wife.”

Prior to wedding Trisha, Garth was married to Sandy Mahl, the mother of his three daughters.  Trisha’s marriage to Garth, meanwhile, is her third.

Though Garth and Trisha’s time together as a married couple has been the happiest time of Garth’s life so far, he’s banking on the years ahead to top it.

“I’m going to put all of my money that the third 15 years is going to be the best 15 years of my life,” Garth says.

Garth and Trisha wed at their Oklahoma home, in a low-key ceremony with only family in attendance. But while the nuptials themselves might have been small, Garth went all out for the proposal. He popped the question in front of 7,000 fans in Bakersfield, California.

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Via a photo message posted to social media, Ellen DeGeneres said Thursday she has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 62-year-old talk show host shared the following statement: “Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19,” DeGeneres began. “Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines.”

Ellen didn’t mention if her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, has also tested positive for the virus — or what this means for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which is currently airing its eighteenth season.

“I’ll see you all again after the holidays,” Ellen concluded. “Please stay healthy and safe. Love, Ellen.”

The diagnosis caps a rough 2020 for the chat show host, who weathered allegations that staffers on her show were mistreated by now-terminated producers.

Gwyneth Paltrow reveals what triggered her partial retirement from acting

No Comments Entertainment News

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Gwyneth Paltrow revealed why she temporarily stepped away from acting, which happened right after she won an Oscar at the 1999 Academy Awards.

Speaking recently to SiriusXM’s Quarantined with Bruce, the award-winning actress says she was 26 when she realized that she didn’t “love acting that much” after accepting Best Actress her role in Shakespeare in Love.

Paltrow, 45, confessed that she was a metrics-driven person at the time, and felt she had reached her peak and didn’t know where to set her next goal.

“I sort of felt like, ‘Well, now who am I supposed to be?  Like, what am… I driving towards,” she explained.

In addition, Paltrow admitted that “part of the the shine of acting wore off, you know, being in such intense public scrutiny.”

Paltrow said she was tired of being the “kid who is living every public breakup in every headline.  Being criticized for everything you say, do and wear.”

“And also, it’s so transitory, you’re always all over. It’s hard to plant roots,” the Iron Man star continued. “I’m such a homebody, you know me, I like to be with my old friends and cook and squeeze my kids. Like, I don’t want to be alone in a hotel room in Budapest for six weeks… it’s just not who I am.”

She said all of those factors combined made her reconsider accepting future starring movie roles, but claims was her management that made her truly wonder, “I don’t know if this is really my calling.'”

During the interview, Paltrow didn’t mention Harvey Weinstein, whom she had previously accused of sexual harassment, by name, but she did say, “I had a really rough boss for most of my movie career at Miramax.”  Weinstein owned Miramax, which released Paltrow movies like Shakespeare in Love.
