No Comments Entertainment News

L-R – Paquin, O’Hare(LOS ANGELES) — News of a reboot of HBO’s True Blood took many people by surprise — including the show’s former star, Anna Paquin.

The Oscar-winner posted a link about the reboot news to her Twitter feed, with the caption, “Well, this is the first I’m hearing of this.”

Denis O’Hare, who played vampire Russell Edgington in the bloody, beloved series, replied, “Me too…”

To one follower, who encouraged her to “Go off, queen,” Paquin explained, “Not mad, just answering the question that has inundated my feed. xo.”

While not much else is known about the reboot, which apparently has been in the works for over a year, Deadline reports that Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is in talks to helm the series, while Alan Ball, the original series’ creator, has signed on as executive producer.

HBO’s True Blood, which ran from 2008 to 2014 and won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe, was an adaptation of The Southern Vampire Mysteries series written by Charlaine Harris.

Julia Roberts headed to Apple TV+ with limited series backed by producer Reese Witherspoon

David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Oscar winner Julia Roberts is headed back to the small screen, this time for Apple TV+. Fellow Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, who stars in and produces The Morning Show for the streaming service, is producing a limited run drama series for Roberts, based on the upcoming book The Last Thing He Told Me

Laura Dave’s as-yet-unreleased novel centers on Roberts’ character, a woman named Hannah, who finds a mysterious message when her husband disappears: “Protect her.” The message alludes to her teenage stepdaughter, with whom she has a complicated relationship, to say the least. Hannah must not only watch over the young woman, but also unravel the mystery of why her father vanished.

Deadline reports Witherspoon’s production company Hello, Sunshine is producing the new show, which was created by Laura Dave and her husband, Josh Singer, who earned a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for the drama Spotlight.

Roberts previously starred in the TV series Homecoming.

Dierks Bentley does his best impression of Dwight from 'The Office' in hilarious "Gone" music video

No Comments Country Music News

ABCDierks Bentley has some laughs at his own expense in the music video for his latest single, “Gone.”

The song’s lyrics tell a story of a guy who’s checked out after a breakup, explaining that he’s “been a million places but they’re all up in my head” as he sits on the couch, watches TV and nurses his broken heart.

For the video treatment, the singer takes that concept to a whole new level. He starts out by moping around in bed and flipping through the TV, but there’s something unusual about the shows he’s watching: They’re all homages to TV classics, and they all feature Dierks as the main character.

No matter what character he’s portraying, Dierks always seems to end up as the butt of the joke. He plays Dwight from The Office, and ends up being on the receiving end of one of the show’s classic pranks. He stars in a Full House parody, but winds up getting covered in baby spit-up. As a Game of Thrones character, the singer loses his fight with a dragon.

“It just always ends poorly for me in this video,” Dierks jokes in a statement, according to Rolling Stone. “I definitely had a lot more fun making it than it looks, though.”

Dierks released “Gone” back in October. It’s his first new music since his 2018 studio release, The Mountain.

Brett Eldredge’s dog Edgar guest-stars in the animated video for his Kelly Clarkson duet, “Under the Mistletoe”

No Comments Country Music News

Jay Martin/Ingenuity StudiosBrett Eldredge and Kelly Clarkson are offering up some adorable holiday cheer with their new animated music video for their holiday duet, “Under the Mistletoe.”

Both duet partners make appearances in the clip: A cartoon Kelly floats through a neighborhood on a snowy evening, as families celebrate the holidays inside their homes. Meanwhile, an RV careens down a winding snowy country road, and we see the shadow of a man sitting in the driver’s seat, with a floppy-eared dog sitting behind him.

Finally, the pair burst out of the camper van, revealing themselves to be none other than Brett and his beloved dog, Edgar, who then proceeds to cause all kinds of mayhem, from stealing the Christmas turkey, to wrecking the Christmas tree, to hopping on Santa’s sleigh without permission.

Over the past couple of years, Brett’s Weiszla pup has become quite the crowd-pleaser, even appearing onstage from time to time with his famous human.

Kelly and Brett dropped their holiday duet back in October. The new video, which features hand-drawn animation by Ingenuity Studios, was directed by Jay Martin.
