Gwen Stefani almost ruined Blake Shelton's proposal plans: "It was getting too complicated"

No Comments Country Music News

Trae Patton/NBCGwen Stefani and Blake Shelton announced their engagement in October, but according to Gwen, she almost ruined Blake’s proposal plans, even though she had no idea he was going to pop the question.

On Tuesday’s installment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Gwen told her fellow The Voice coach that Blake wanted to propose to her on his Oklahoma ranch, but at the time, Gwen didn’t really want to leave Los Angeles and return to Oklahoma “because it was getting too complicated with COVID and the family.”

But finally, Gwen, Blake and her kids, plus his brother and his sister and their respective families, all made the trek to Oklahoma.  However, Gwen told Kelly, nobody knew about the proposal except Gwen’s dad, because Blake had told him during her birthday celebration in early October what his plans were and even showed him the ring.

As for the big moment, Gwen said, “I walked in and my son was sitting right by this fireplace and Blake basically was getting down on his knees to do a fire. And he goes, ‘Hey, can you look in that cabinet over there and get me a fire starter?'”

“So I open the cabinet and there was, like, a ring in a box and I was like, ‘Aaah! What? Are you serious?'” Gwen continued. “So everyone came running ’cause they heard us screaming and crying…so there was no video; my sister-in-law-to-be was just, like, shooting pictures and that’s the photo that we put out.”

The superstar couple recently scored their second #1 hit on the country charts with “Happy Anywhere.” Their previous duet, “Nobody But You,” which was Gwen’s first country hit, topped the charts earlier this year.

Harry and Meghan have signed a multi-year partnership with Spotify that will see the Sussexes both hosting and producing podcasts with the goal of building “community through shared experience, narratives and values,” according to Spotify.

The partnership with Spotify will fall under the Sussexes’ new production company, Archewell Audio, described by Spotify as an “audio-first production company.”

The name of the Sussexes’ nonprofit has a connection to their son Archie, who will turn 2 in May.

The first podcast from Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Audio brand will debut later this month. It will be a holiday special hosted by the couple that will feature, “stories of hope and compassion from inspirational guests in celebration of the new year,” according to Spotify.

After opening Monday night’s episode of Inside Studio G with an acoustic performance of Pride’s hit “Roll on Mississippi,” Garth took time to acknowledge the legendary singer and his resiliency.

“Probably the greatest story in country music that I can think of as far as accomplishment against the odds,” says Garth, who recently collaborated with Pride on one of his final recordings. Pride joined Garth as a guest vocalist on the song “Where the Cross Don’t Burn” that’s featured on Garth’s new album, Fun.

“Talk about a sweet, sweet dude, man. Just love him to pieces,” Garth continues, sending his love and condolences to Pride’s wife, Rozene, and his fans.

“But the great thing about guys like that? They live forever,” Garth declares.

A private funeral service for Pride will be held in Dallas this week.

'Tenet' out on Blu-ray and DVD today

No Comments Entertainment News

Melinda Sue Gordon; ©2020 Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. All Rights Reserved. (LOS ANGELES) — Tenet, the time-bending Christopher Nolan thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, finally comes out on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD today.

For millions of movie fans in the U.S., it will be their first chance to see the much-anticipated film, which was released in theaters overseas but had a very limited theatrical run in the U.S., due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was recently announced that the film will also be released on HBO Max later in the year.

The thriller film revolves around a technology that changes the flow of time. Nolan — who broke the visual mold with his 2010 film Inception, which saw three-dimensional objects like skyscrapers folding like origami — with Tenet is untethered from the fourth dimension, turning those action movie standards like gunfights and car chases into mind-bending action set pieces.

The DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD release contains an hour-long “making of” documentary appropriately titled “Looking at the world in a new way.”

Washington, a former college and pro football player, called Tenet “the most physical ask of his career,” telling ABC Audio about the complicated fight choreography, wire work, and other demands it took to bring the movie to life.

“I mean, I give a shout-out and respect to, like, The Rock and Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme…What they put their bodies through. So much more respect for them. And all the stunt guys out there, men and women that do it daily and put their lives at risk, their health at risk. It is quite a challenge. And I loved every moment of it…”

Tenet also stars Michael Caine, Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh.
