'Cobra Kai' season three premiering a week early on Netflix

No Comments Entertainment News

Guy D’Alema(LOS ANGELES) — Merry Christmas, Cobra Kai fans.

Season three of the martial arts series will be dropping on Netflix one week earlier than initially planned. The show will debut January 1 now, instead of January 8, so you can enjoy your first binge-watch of the new year.

In a video announcement for the new premiere date, Johnny Lawrence, played by William Zabka, deems January 8 too long of a wait and promptly adjusts the date on the Netflix site.

“I heard you all whining about Season 3 taking forever. So I called the pawn shop and the guy walked me through this Netflix thing. Dude knows his stuff. Now you get it a week early. See you on New Year’s, nerds,” a message from Johnny reads.

The cast of Cobra Kai will also be joining hosts David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes on The Netflix Afterparty on January 2.

Cobra Kai, based on The Karate Kid film series, has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Detroit Lions will be without head coach due to COVID-19 protocols

(NEW YORK) — The Detroit Lions will be on their third head coach of the season on Saturday, after interim head coach Darrell Bevell was deemed unable to coach due to COVID-19 protocols.

Detroit is scheduled to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday. On Wednesday, the team announced that Bevell, along with several other coaches, were being kept away from the team facility due to close contacts with the virus. So far, only practice squad linebacker Anthony Pittman and a coach have tested positive.

In Bevell’s absence, wide receivers coach Robert Prince will take over the head coaching role. He will also give playcalling duties to quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan, who has never had that responsibility at any level in his career.

Bevell said that the team had contingency plans for any coach unable to be with the team on Saturday. He emphasized the importance of being able to adjust on the fly, something he says the team has already done throughout the course of this season.

The team will also have to sort out their defensive coaching situation, with coordinator Cory Undlin, defensive line coach Bo Davis, linebackers coach Ty McKenzie and defensive backs coach Steve Gregory all kept away from the team on Wednesday.

Bevell also pointed to the team’s most recent game — a road matchup against the Tennessee Titans — as a possible cause of the outbreak. Nashville has one of the highest new-case rates of COVID-19 in the country. Still, Bevell admitted, the team is not sure how anyone within the team contracted the virus.

Dierks Bentley celebrates Christmas “Colorado style” with a tree made out of skis

No Comments Country Music News

ABCDierks Bentley and his family have spent quite a bit of time in Colorado during the pandemic, and by the looks of things, they’re really embracing life out West.

This week, the singer marked the holiday season by posting a picture of himself — and his unusual Christmas tree — to social media. While the tree looks traditional enough from far away, decorated with twinkling lights and a colorful star on top, a closer look reveals that the branches are all made out of snow skis.

“Merry Christmas and happy holidays…Colorado style…ha!” Dierks wrote in the caption. His tree wasn’t the only thing celebrating “Colorado style,” either: The singer wore a flannel shirt and jeans in his picture, along with a beanie over his grown-out, quarantine hair.

Dierks and his family checked out of everyday life in Nashville and headed for the mountains early on in the pandemic. Although the singer’s certain he’ll be back once the music industry gets back to normal, he’s putting his time off to good use by spending time with family and working on new music. Most recently, Dierks released his new single, “Gone,” which is the first taste of solo music from him since 2018’s The Mountain album.

Taraji P. Henson reveals the "dark moment" she had amid the COVID-19 pandemic

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC(LOS ANGELES) — Taraji P. Henson is opening up about being in a “dark place” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, during the Facebook Watch series, Peace of Mind with Taraji, the Empire actress, 50, revealed that she had thoughts about taking her own life.

“For a couple of days, I couldn’t get out of the bed, I didn’t care. That’s not me. Then, I started having thoughts about ending it,” she candidly admitted to her co-host Tracie Jade and licensed psychologist Dr. LaShonda Green.

After explaining that she had recently purchased a gun, Henson shared she thought, “‘I could go in there right now, and just end it all.'”

The Oscar nominee added that it crossed her mind about how her son, Marcell Johnson, would react to her death but told herself that “he’ll get over it” because he’s an adult.

Henson experienced these thoughts for two nights in a row before she realized she needed to tell someone how she was feeling. And when she did, she was able to overcome those “dark” thoughts.

“‘Oh my god, I feel so much better,” she recalled thinking. “I’m not gonna do it now.'”

Green asserted that it’s “very normal” to “feel lonely” and “to not want to do it anymore” before adding that opening up about those thoughts can be a very cathartic experience.
